    Saint Stivs,,

That’s a very emotional post there buddy.

    ——————————

och, just feels wrong to be in the hoose, when i could be at the game, but recent events have me felling wound up about it all.

if i was to go to a game, and see some crap happening to a supporter, or be told to sit down, i think it would end bad,

    its a no win situation.

be a supporter, but only in a way that we want you to be.

    so, better not to go.

still we won, lots of chances, we were by far the better side, not a vintage performance i am happy we won.

ps, before the game big johann was asked about going unbeaten this season, he said they have given the team this target. they can knock that shite on its head, win each game as it comes, our we will come a cropper, no wonder we are slow starting, we think we have it won allready.

Fantastic post, if you don’t mind me saying so, you should tidy it up a little and forward it to JP Taylor

  3. We all knew it would be a packed hertz defence today and they will be happy to only lose 2-0. Celtic did what we wanted, they won. 3 points for a 1 or 10 goal win. No team will make it easy for us to score at will.

Double click before disnae made my post after the first goal look like it had been sent before the first goal!

Technology clearly isnae for the uninitiated.

  5. We are at a watershed moment.

The support are finally reacting to the treatment from our custodians.

Also realistically Lennon’s football style is unattractive so not providing a safety net for directors appalling betrayal of support.

New coach and new board needed.

  6. fan a tic,

no worries about the spelling, ive had all sorts over the years.

predictive text, or sometimes someone pulling my chain.

    a good post

the marginalisation of the old Glasgow celtic fan continues

    I just don’t understand why

  8. Well deserved 3points even after a lazy performance.

The big question of course is,how will Lawell get the fans back?

KTF and a merry Xmas to one and all.

Brilliant post mate, I didn’t go today either. Your sentiments are echoed by a great many fans.

You should send that first post to Peter Lawwell and copy in Neil Lennon.

I haven’t been back since last season when my wee girl and me were videod by the polis entering the stadium.

I have not been to the Superstore to spend the mandatory 150 quid for family presents this Christmas and don’t expect to again.

The supporters are the best in the world, no doubt.

But as you said, we are now just another club.

  12. Tricoloured Ribbon on

    Saint Stivs,

Recent events have left us all a bit confused about what direction the club is going,at times watching at home here today I ventured upstairs, went in to make a drop of tea and was taking a passing interest only eventually. My interest and intensity is waning too and I find that really sad.You take care mo chara.

  14. FAVOURITE UNCLE on

Saint Stivs .great post frm earlier but do yourself a favour get to bed before DONNELLY67 gets back ,he will want to meet you for a rumble…..ps emdy know many cans the GREEN BRIGADE collected.

  15. Sitting on the bus nose running feet frozen and hands like ice. We need summer football who wants to sit and watch football like this HH

  16. Didn’t get to see any of the game bar a few minutes. But is Samaras being blamed because of our poor performances in Europe? We all know what he does and how he plays and how he is best used – it’s down to the manager to get the best out of him. He’s a very talented player at certain things but at the same time is limited, that needs to be accepted.

If he wants to run down his contact or go in January that’s his prerogative but I suspect the reason he’s not signed is he’s been offered a reduced contract. He genuinely seems to love being at Celtic. I can’t say I would disagree about reducing his wages, he’s very useful in Europe but a bit part player in the SPL most weeks. But from his perspective he was hot property at the start of the season and must be expecting a rise.

Our support is so fickle at times.

  17. corkcelt- SUPPORTING THE DAM 5 on

Like Saint Stivs, I am becoming totally disillusioned. My own Supporters Club disbanded last week as a protest on the closing down of Green Brigade Section. We laughed at Armageddon predictions, well I’m not laughing now. When I read the posts of Tony Donnelly and his ilk, when I see how our young Supporters are being treated, its not what I signed up for, when I embarked on a lifetime of following Celtic almost 60 years ago. Donnelly & Lawell are having their wish come true, a sanitised, soulless entity. I said I was leaving this site a couple of weeks ago but when the right debates are on, I will be there to defend my vision of what Celtic should be about. I’m too long in the tooth to change my ways, I will not follow Glasgow Hibernians.

    21 December, 2013

I get the feeling an awful lot of user are sitting watching or listening to the match on tv and radio when, in most of our hearts, we would far rather have been to the Celtic Park as we knew and loved it up to only a few short years ago.

I am not Christmas shopping, have no real time or family commitments today to preclude me going, have already bought my ticket yet am sitting at home for much the same reasons you described.

Last week’s stewarding activity in 122 was, for me, the final straw and someone at Celtic should be seriously concerned about our malaise and last week’s disgusting stewarding, If not there will be a massive reduction in season ticket sales.

    All so, so sad.

  19. Malone bhoy

I think Samaras has talent but is not suited to our game.

He is a luxury we can’t afford.

I wish him well and hope he goes to the Spanish league were his talents can flourish.

  20. Joe Filippis Haircut on

As we move towards 2014 I can see no realistic reason for the crowds to get an any bigger than today Lennie said he would bring back the thunder which he did but it has gone again.I believe many of the fans have just had enough of our board being on a different page from them.Celtic in a bid to save money and try to increase the atmosphere are likley to mothball the top tier of the ground moving the supporters down stairs there only concern they have is would this be legal because stay away supporters have there name against the seats so they may well wait until the start of next season when they will know the amount of season tickets sold for the new season.I cannot see how you turn this around as we know we will win the SPL and then it is back to trying to qualify for the CL proper again. We are comfortabely going to win the SPL would a couple of big name players help to increase the crowds that is the gamble PL has to take wither he should stick or twist.H.H

  21. Favourite Uncle, CowieBhoy and I had a wander around and large piles of goods were being collected. It looked like it had been very successful.

  22. fan-a-tic 14:31

I just think for the past few weeks, particularly after the last 2 European displays, he’s being coming in for some undue stick (more than the usual). I get that he’s a love hate guy, I just feel like he’s shouldering the blame for the whole team and managers performance on the biggest stage.

  23. anyone who thinks Lawwell will do anything about stewarding or the treatment of the Celtic support is kidding themselves on, when the oldco were doing what they liked inside our stadium I wrote and complained about this , he did not have the courtesy to write a reply he sent me a printed copy of the stadium regulations.

We are at a crossroads but the plc see it only one way, give us your money and obey.

  24. St Stivs,

    I follow your logic.

There is a separation between the PLC and the supporters. The supporters have maintained the ethos of the club like collection today or St Paddys dinner on 14 th march which I will go to.

Lawwelll is determined to eliminate a section of the support as they do not fit the brand image envisaged by the PLC. It has been done in an underhand way and there has been collateral damage with innocent young fans bullied by stewards and videod by the Gestapo like Focus.

Lawwell will succeed in his mission ; however he does not understand that he has lost the support. The PLC is a souless group of men that care not for the support or the ethos of the club. Lawwells primary objective every year is to secure his bonus and produce an annual report delivering EBIT and Cash. The lack of a striker is an absolute joke. 19 shots on goal today 2 goals. We blew money on 2 strikers who have not reached double figures between them. Fingobasson was there to be bought and Lawwell would not be the price. Then the lies that players don’t want to come.

Next season will be pay at the gate. I cannot be bothered to watch that guff, so will not renew my 2 STs and will pick and choose.

Lawwell you are destroying our club.

  25. Currently in Manchester for a very sad occasion…….puts things into perspective really.

However St. Stivs makes genuine and very valid points.

The fundamental question really…….. “is the club being run for the benefit of the supporters or the half dozen major shareholders”?

Theres a malaise around CFC at the moment that verges on the moribund. The unexpected cash surplus from some player selling has insulated the board to a certain degree from the demands of the supporters but a persistent run of sub 20K attendances will soon erode that. Its 20K of less sales in everything from beer to pizzas to shirts to everything else.

It seems there is now a battle of wills between the paying supporters and Peter Lawell. 1M per year for what exactly?

His job is worth 200K on a good day. He does nothing that is inherently clever, astute or innovative. His customer base is as loyal and captive as it is possible to be. All he has to do is satisfy their demands (to a reasonable degree) and he is signally failing at this.

I imagine the living wage campaigners would like to see the Lawell commanded schutzstaffel given the same pay?

Its all going horribly wrong and its not the players, the manager, the GB or the supporters fault………

Its Peter Lawell……..part of the problem not part of the solution……..he is turning into an unmitigated PR disaster for Celtic…..he is right up there with Jock Brown FFS.

I’m not advocating an economic boycott by any means but how do yo get the board to listen?

  26. Today, was the first home game I’ve missed in over three years. I made a conscious decision not to attend as a protest against the way our club treats us, the supporters.

Last week’s harassment of supporters by stewards, under instruction from Celtic FC, was the last straw for me. The attempt to completely sanitise the stadium is now in full flow. Celtic FC is not only no longer a club of the people, it is now one which actively discourages fans from supporting the team.

Today, there were 6 empty seats that belonged to me and my family. We no longer feel part of Celtic. We no longer feel wanted.

During the darkest days of RFC’s nine in a row, we attended home and away every week. As someone on here said last week, whilst our team were poor, we somehow felt they needed us.

It scares me that I feel that I am now falling out of love with Celtic. They have been an incredibly important part of my life since my first game at the Jimmy Johnstone and Bobby Lennox testimonial, when I was about six years old. They have been part of my family for forty years.

Some of the happiest moments of my life have come about through supporting Celtic. Some of my most cherished memories of loved ones who are no longer with us are, in some way or another, connected to supporting Celtic.

Today, the thought of Celtic leaves me cold. No, not cold, but angry. I feel as if something has been stolen from me. Something that, until recently stirred so much emotions, has gone.

    I hope it returns.
