  1. Not surprised with so many kids involved

Even people like mathews and forrest with plenty of first team exp will have ups and downs

We have abnormal number of injuries and with having shipped 16/17 players out not sure if 3 in is gonna be much use when the CL games kick in

People like McCourt are not good or consistent enough and the young boys need the experience guys round about them for help

Still we should most of guys and new guys available for our next game

  2. Hopefully Neil and some of the younger players have learned a few things today.

For me we lacked composure on and off the ball, probably down to the number of young players we had out there today.

The other thing that sticks out is that our players too often receive the ball in a static position rather than running into space to receive it. This means we have an opposition player to beat before we can start to look for a team mate.

It also seems clear that our midfield is posted missing when Victor is not on the park.

On the plus side, Tony Watt was a handful, Twardzik’s distribution is generally excellent, Izzy is playing well again, Paddy’s play is far more mature than it has been in the past and we have plenty of players who can come in and improve the team we had out today.

We are top of the league, I say, we are top of the league.

    Hail Hail

  3. How the toasting flip did Derek Ferguson get that job? His is the monotone, inexpressive delivery of someone for whom reading and speaking simultaneously take up 100% of brain capacity.

  4. Interesting game, one lesson is that you can’t blood to many fringe players in the one game. Apart from fact that Lustig/Paddy/Twardzik & Watt started what amazed me is that Commons apart there was no experienced outfield player on the bench. We did fine with Victor bossing things in the middle but when he went off we were a different team. We should of course have had it wrapped up by then anyway. Overall I wouldn’t be too bothered by result, the other 3 SPl games today were all draws as well so its as you were at this stage. There is no doubt that when we have our best eleven out we will hammer any of the other SPL teams.

  5. Ah, we need Vic back, Its international break for two weeks now. Hope Joe gets back soon, we defo miss him calming down the mid and Brown, I think Brown was looking like him from circa 2011 lately and i think it was because of no Joe. Any news on the other striker?

  6. And right on cue, in comes shimmies with a dollop of anti-McCourt brain slurry.

Nice new angle you’ve got, though, saying he stops kids developing, on today of all days.

  7. Both conceded goals were ‘ howlers’ our under 18 defenders could have dealt with them. But we are in the CL and if qualifying meant having to draw with a decent Hibs team we’d all be happy with that

    So what happens then if

we draw sevco in the cup and

we have the same injuries as today ?

    we would pump them 6-0

  9. Philbhoy - It's just the beginning! on

Look bhoys, it’s been a great week and a new striker to come!

Three great signings, top of the league, superb CL Group to look forward to and the wine is now at room temperature.

    What’s not to like?

  10. Brown, Mulgrew, Sammi, Commons missing from midweek.

    Ledley a longer term injury.

VW who only lasted 45 minutes was struggling near end of first half with a knock.

Add in a few chances stopped by woodwork and one on ones with GK missed, imprecise passing, an uncharacteristic goalkeeping error and you have the c hallmarks of a youthful team being streaky.

No need to throw the toys out the cot, yet.

  11. Great philbhoy and on yer positive note, im off to spend some family time, Take care Bhoys and read Philbhoys post to cheer ye up. Peace.

  12. Not sure all the absentees were injured, I reckon Lenny might have rested a couple, and when we are short in the future, hopefully the lads we signed yesterday can come in and do a job for us when required. Remember too that even the experienced lads out there have just come off a big European game and we know from experience we do suffer from European hangovers. There is absolutely nothing to worry about we will win the SPL pulling up just as well we are not murdering teams at the moment as it keeps things interesting for everybody.

  13. I thought Paddy was poor today and every time I see him he looks slower.

Apart from one good run I thought he wasn’t so great and it saddens me because I do like Paddy.

Was it Jackson Irvine who came on? Hardly noticed him apart from a shocking haircut.

The defending in the second half was shambolic from Lustig especially and he doesn’t have the excuse of being a young player without experience. Izzy still doesn’t look the player he was and Hooper was anonymous for long spells.

We need to be realistic and it was a lot to ask after the changes and the qualifier midweek but we should not be drawing at home to a relegation candidate.

  14. I cant get het up or concerned about todays performance at all.

Goals , and a start for a youngster that everyone wanted to see play.

Couple of mistakes at the back, cost us goals, cost us points, but wont cost us the league.

  15. not too much to panic about , most things I would say have already been posted here, thought the whole thing was a wee bit “after the lord mayors show” and with VW on the park, we should have had the match done and dusted.

Now we see how much he means to us, and I bet the Hibs boys got a lift when he was withdrawn.

Four draws in four SPL matches today, coupon busters.

Lennon: “Been speaking to people in the background. Lassad is still on his way tonight. The agents are telling me he’s coming to Glasgow.”

  18. 2nd.half Charlie/Rogne/Brooney/Ledley/Kayal/Victor/Sammi all missing not to mention the 2 new guys who hopefully will become regulars. Practically a full outfield team. Anybody who is complaining is having a laugh. I love Paddy but he is in essence an impact sub, a good man to bring on with 20/25 mins to go if you need to change things.

  19. RC really are scraping the barrel nowadays.

they dont even wait on the drunk phoning in now, they go to the pub and ask them stupid loaded questions.

  20. Glass half full or half empty? Take yer pick….midweek hangover. And we missed chances.

Early in the season and I’m not unhappy. 4 in a row in Europe and here we are. Even the biggest of the big boys have honours evens days.

I know I’m nt saying anything new….just remaining upbeat.

    HG!

  21. Up and over

I said a month ago that McCourt was hindering the young guys

I DID NOT say today he hindered the young guys

What i did say and will continue to say is that McCourt is not good enough He slows our whole playing style only flits in and out of game and is not a team player

If u would be kind enough to read back i said today just showed we need to have the better players playing when we blood the younger guys

But anyway we will agree to disagree on McCourt but proof is on the park

  22. I said on here, before the game, that I was concern, that we did not have an apparent leader in the team.and if the game turned against us we may have a problem.

Thats life, away to mass now, will check when I come back,to see if anyone agrees.HH

  23. !!bada bing!! great shout earlier about new Striker.

Well at least we know our reserve team have to gift goals to second in the SPL to make a game of it…

    HH

I only posted someone’s tweet. I had never heard of the guy until today.

    Levante claim they’ve signed him.

Neil Lennon said he’s coming to Glasgow.

They cannot both be correct though so I wonder what it the truth.
