Dear Santa for Christmas I wish that the Celtic player with the ball would pass it to the player who is making the run…

    =============================

…….. and in front of him so he doesnt need to turn back to get it, giving defenders time to recover!!

  2. Very very disappointing today, but you know what, tomorrow morning ill still be a Tim, supporting a Club with a long proud un broken history, with dare I say it much to look forward to.

    Wouldn’t swop that feeling.

  3. “The first goal was a shambles and the second one was just poor defending and then we were chasing the game.”

“It is unacceptable. It’s a dose of reality, back down earth with a bump.”

    Neil Lennon.

Doc – the guys who were booing should just GTF and not come back.

Would you believe after that backs to the wall performance in Barcelona, we had numpties on here saying that some players had 3/10 or 5/10 performances?!!

Every player was a hero on Tuesday….most of them were villains today!

We move on. Who’s top of SPL?!

It was a series of mistakes starting with Matthews (he’d done the same thing less than a minute before) and then another from Efe who gets to the ball first but only hits it off Sheridan and then perhaps a lesser one when Forster doesn’t come out as the ball was quite far ahead of Sheridan and at the time I thought he may have got to it

  6. Asonofdan

Lenny has it in a nutshell

The only consolation for me today is that Lenny will be more annoyed than me

  7. Valentine's Day on

If your first impression of a player is that he’s pash – 9 time’s out of 10

you’ll be right. I give you Miku, on the bus home Efe was getting a

bit of stick but IMO he was the only one who was willing to make

a forward pass. There were too many passes touchline to touchline. I also

thought that Tony deserved a start after his performance last week.

  8. OG

I think Forster may have got the ball if he’d come for it

As you say a series of mistakes

  9. Forgive me if I am wrong but did Miku not complain that he was not getting enough game time during the week, it may have been Lassad not sure

  10. T4, yes they should, I’ve never boo’d Celtic, never will.

When things go wrong too many get too negative too quickly.

I regularly praise them, and to keep that trend going the GB just keep supporting the team, regularly they keep singing when the opposition score, never heard them boo yet, good support for the team. An example?

Mike did nothing today to justify a starting berth. When is his loan deal over?

Tony Watt should have started today. When he came on we could have registered an ill-deserved draw. Missed an open goal and failed to pass to Hooper who had an open goal in front of him. He’s our future and he’ll learn.

57 years?! Get over it !

  12. Djbee

According to sky text he was moaning about game time , saying that the manager thought he was the best technical player in the squad …yada yada

He’ll need to improve a great deal

  13. PFayr, 19:34

He shouldn’t be getting a start ahead of Watt. And I thought Lassad has linked very well and looks promising

How come there was 13 mins injury time at the Man cty game ?

How come there was 8 minutes against Barca ?

  16. Cathedral View on

Just home from the game today and not read back.

Very disappointed with the players attitude. Disjointed and lacklustre pretty much sums it up for me.

Met up pre match with a friend and is wife who had not been in a while. Got a text from him at full time simply stating he paid £62 for tickets to watch that performance.

    Says it all really.

  17. T4, Miku didn’t look great today, but maybe a bit harsh to judge him yet, especially when we were far from our best as a unit today. He may need more time to settle, some players take longer. Compare and contrast Kelvin and Efe.

  18. •-:¦:-•** -:¦:- sparkleghirl :¦:-.•**• -:¦:-• on

Cathedral View, I’ve said it already but I’ll say it again for you

Yes, today was disappointing of course but I’m not going to complain after the heart and soul we saw on Tues against Barça. In the long term, our European prospects will be far better served by playing in a competitive league.

Well done to Kilmarnock for a game well played.

  19. OG

Agreed….didn’t like the line up at the start …with too many having an off day it was a nightmare

Watt should have been on at halftime ….wasn’t happening for Miku today

  20. darwinsbeautifulidea on

was never convinced by lennon as a manager ,but he was growing on me this season until today,to select a team with only one striker(and a duff one at that) was ridiculous, and why are we rotating captains in Browns absence one week mulgrew then ledley and today commons,as for the team set up is the first job to find a place for mulgrew even in midfield where he is totally out of his depth,he gets picked as a left back or center back or not at all

    todays ratings

forster 7 one great save sold down the river by defence

izzy 5 seems to be inhibited when mulgrew plays wide

    wilson 7 usual solid performance

ambrose 4 off day sold first goal but terrible pass from mattews

matthews 4 looked unfit wasn’t fit on tues so should he have been risked today

commons 6 ran about to little effect

kayal 5 where is the player who started so well in his celtic carreer

ledley 5 possibly his poorest game for us

forrest crowded out too often gives up too easily when it gets physical

miku 1 this guy played in la liga joke

mulgrew 5 out of position and it showed

    subs

hooper 5 lacked support missed good chance

mccourt 6 played some good forward passes ,but only one run which is supposed to be his forte

ward 5 nine mins but showed some energy

manager 1 wrong team selection poor subs either too late watt or bringing on a forward hooper and not hooking miku

and a luxury like paddy it should have been wanyama for kayal mulgrew or ledley

My son was home from uni …we attended our first league game of the season

We had went for lunch in town , walked in looking forward to game

What a downer and cost me over £60 for the tickets

My wee girl thinks her name is Pass and Move!!

We were rubbish today, many of the basics for football were missing, I think Lenny has to shoulder some of the blame, the team had no shape at all first half and in the second half it just got worse and worse, Kenny Shiels is a decent manager he knows what works against us, fair play to him and his team for bursting our bubble..

My biggest question this season is What do you do with a Bhoy like Charlie??

I fear that last seasons POTY is in danger of suffering from that “utility player” syndrome at the moment I not really sure where Charlie fits into our team and I felt today the midfield suffered as we seemed to play him rather than rest him.

Charlie gives 110% wherever he plays but I’m still not sure what his final position is in the team.

Ah Nakamura ah’m getting awe misty eyed noo, imagine him in this team!!

  23. Didn’t make today – family business.

Sound like I didn’t miss much.

    But booing the Hoops?

    Absolutely unacceptable.

  24. tommytwiststommyturns on

Doc – it was the day after the game at the Camp Nou, not today. Some of the players would be lucky to get 3/10 today!

Miku tried a couple of runs which no one picked up, but there were also some decent balls into the box and he was always second to a Killie defender.

Watt (and Hoops) looked much sharper when he came on and could have had a goal and an assist.

Some people groaned when Paddy came on today, but his passing is way ahead of most of the guys who started today.

  25. Poor performance today but as a supporter you have to take

the good with the bad. Some one posted about being 4-0 down

to thistle at half time in the league cup final, that was the game

that i knew i wanted to be a celtic fan, i was seven.

  26. It was me that mentioned Miku for the sole reason I think he complained during the week that he was not getting enough game time, all I was saying is that don’t moan about not getting a game and then not producing when you do. I would like nothing better for him to settle and be the player he may become. Actually think he might be a great player for us and with the scouting system that is in place I am pretty hopeful he will be but do your talking on the park when you get the chance.

  27. Just back from the game…. Had a few swallies but got to say ….. Absolute garbage , can’t accept the hangover theory from barca…. We were shocking , not one player had pass marks, Miku!!!!!!!!!!!!!!u must be joking!

  28. timbhoy in spain on

    Cathedral View,

I can symathise with your friends.I was back in Glasgow a few years ago & was ” lucky” enough to get a ticket for a game against Motherwell.I think it was the worst game I´ve ever seen Celtic play.Ended up 0-0.Terrible game. But hey we´re Celtic supporters & they´re only human. If horses all ran to form there widnae be any Bookies.

And I think we know really at the end of the season we´ll win the league & we´ll be in the Champion´s League next year & the year after & after ´cos there wont be any cream buns around.

  29. T4, every Celtic player was, at worst, 8/10 on Tuesday, that’s being critical, but I know what you mean, some posters are never satisfied.

Miku didn’t look great today, so not disagreeing there, just think he may come on to a game, time will tell.

Watts and Hopper both looked the better option when they came on, at least we looked more energetic.

Starry Plough, our shape was all over the place in the first half, I didn’t know what formation we were playing, nor who was playing where.

A bad day at the office as others have said.

  30. Thought Izzaguirre deserved pass marks.

Whatever James Forrest has previously brought to the team has deserted him in recent weeks.

  31. Just in and my thoughts were same as Cathedral View. Lacklustre is putting it mildly.

Only consolation is that it is not likely to mean anything in terms of silverware but we had better sharpen up for Tuesday or St Johnstone will beat us as well.

Three defeats on the trot would not be good for morale.
