  1. From a decent source on KDS, M1K3Y89, for what it’s worth:

“I’m well aware that I’ve posted similar before, so no need to quote and tell me I was wrong in the past. Just passing on what I’ve heard recently and tonight.

Lennon is finished, strachan too, probably Kennedy. Lawwel is done, Ross Desmond has been about for about 3 years, does support Celtic and has a lot more interest than Dermot.

This might be happening sooner than originally planned after recent weeks.”

  2. My son bought me Arsene Wenger’s book for Christmas. It’s a good read – full of the sort of insights, wisdom and original thinking you’d expect from an intelligent and thoughtful man

Like all books that stay with you lots of it is, as the kids say these days, very relatable. I often found myself thinking about his experiences and decisions and how they relate to Celtic.

He says that one of the most important things when taking over as head coach or manager as he was is to ensure that among the coaching staff there are people who understand the dna of the club. Scott Brown needs to be at Celtic to help the next man, who will undoubtedly be an outsider.

What also comes across is that Wenger is a man for whom morals are very important. The ship has long sailed on it ever happening but his upbringing and outlook on life would make Celtic a great fit. Although I can make a good guess at what he would think about a coach who’s been thrust into the limelight through no choice of his own being laughed at on a forum for using a slightly inappropriate word.

In the interests of fairness I do hope we’ll apply the same high standards to posts on CQN from now on, seeing as we’re able to take our time over what we post and we don’t have a camera and mic thrust in our faces 5 minutes after we’ve finished a game

I take your point re Broonie but as I said earlier we have plenty of old pals in the set up , we need a fresh broom through the club as we have stagnated . A new coach needs to bring his own men and methods

The Ferranti social club would have been rocking tonight if it hadn’t been shut for Covid .

  5. When the CEO is controlling all aspects of the club from manager to recruitment it has the consequences we seen. He has put his placemen every in the club from manager to his staff, too beancounters in every nook and cranny. It keeps control but destroys creativity.

When you see the ethos of Celtic being destroyed internally as the fans continue their charity work which Lawwell surfs on for PR. We have one individual do ping fantastically well out of downsizing —- it’s no wonder our better players want away. Imagine turning up for training and the 3 stoogies running the show. The players are going through the motions. Like us they want the season over and they want out. They have no respect for the semi professional manager and his silent assistants which were appointed by the control freak.

It doesn’t matter which manager is brought in. Jock Stein couldn’t work with Lawwell —- Lawwell would be playing his games to ensure he had his way. Lawwell has done irrevocable damage to Celtic including share price and market cap —- Desmond might be happy with his tax free dividends in Gibraltar however his stake is with considerably less. Desmond is also now damaging Celtic and any change is too late.

Lennon hanging on for his payoff is not a surprise. This will be his last gig as a manager as nobody with common sense would let him anywhere near a half decent football team. Put him on garden leave now as the fans are sick off his —- he has destroyed his legacy as much as Lawwell.

  6. Bada Bing,

Kennedy needs to be sacked with Lennon. Rodgers didn’t want him at Leicester a made up story pushed by Lawwell.

His car crash interview after Dubai trip showed how thick he is and by turning down opportunities of management roles how little confidence he has in his own ability. Internal appointments of guys who would never get a decent role outside Celtic is a recipe for failure. That’s Kennedy in a nutshell—- but hey he tells Lawwell what is going on in the dressing room.

  7. SB — Should not be offered a coaching role at the club.

He needs to stand on his own two feet.

  8. Do we completely clear out the staff that have been responsible for winning the last 12 domestic trophies? That’s a hell of a lot of winning to replace.

It will, probably, be the next managers choice who he has as his back room staff. I would imagine, if he is an outsider, that he will be looking to tap into the knowledge and experience that helped us win the title last season and four domestic trebles.

  9. Heard it’s a done deal the bonus thief goes at end of the season ; the puppets last game on Wednesday and Howe in for next game ( Hamilton )

  10. C40 @ 8.54

Total clear out — the current lot couldn’t win a raffle.

By all acounts their attempts at a Secret Santa were a disaster.

They all bought each other the Ladybird Book of Coaching.

  11. I bet if we get a new coach the first thing he’ll do is get rid of the Gregg’s franchise at lennoxtown

John Kennedy is the only one who has been there for that period

No more Gregg’s Steakbake Cokeyback Derby Stakes ??

M Johnston on board S Duffy the ante post fav.

  14. Scott Brown has earned his chance of a coaching role at the Club, outstanding Celtic career, don’t tarnish him with the ones there, who have had their chance.

  15. Ross Desmond on the board and start the clear out of the politiburo.

Kennedy on football operation — laying out cones.

Paul67 Ross Desmond not a fan of those peddling stories about Celtic which are not true.

  16. Makes sense to change the manager now.

No pressure on the new man.

Even the flat earthers can’t believe we have a snowballs chance this season.

We can work hard and ensure this season is merely a blip and not an opener

  17. Owner to appoint son as CEO?

It’s back to the Kellys and Whites. But without the footballing success.

And if you thought Peter Lawwell was unsackable.

See the 2 fullbacks playing for Leicester tonight where they on the leaked players we where after under BR ?

  19. lets all do the huddle on

bottle merchant ref in the leicester game didnt give the southampton player a yellow card for one of the most obvious yellows you will ever see, because the player had already been booked so he would have had to send him off

how do you say ‘Willie Collum’ in English?

    CEOs dont get sacked

they get released from their duties with massive pay offs

PLCism is the problem here. not the currrent CEO. he will just get replaced by another self serving CEO. that is what they do

so bring back the kellys and the whites

cant wait to take my seat in the Cambuslang Maracana

  21. Eddie Howe (4/9 favourite)

The former Bournemouth boss is still out of work after resigning from the Cherries following their relegation to the Championship last summer. He led the club to two promotions in three seasons, from League One to the Premiership, where they remained for five seasons with an all-time high finish of ninth in 2017. The 43-year-old’s stock fell a little due to the relegation last year but, having recently been linked with Arsenal, there’s little doubt he would be a signing to excite the Hoops support.

A Betfair Spokesperson said: “In the past 24 hours we have seen a flurry of bets on Eddie Howe to become the next Celtic manager and have slashed his odds to 4/9.

  22. Taking a torch to everything feels good when you’re in the mess we are at the moment. Cathartic and a short term route out of the pain were all going through

It’s not what billionaire businessmen do though. As difficult as it may be to accept, they choose a more measured and scientific approach to problems like ours. And that will mean when they’re trying to find out what went wrong it will include what’s been done well in the past. Success doesn’t happen by accident, and there’s invaluable skills and experience picked up when you win as much as we do. Success is hard to buy, when it’s already at the club it would be foolish to discard it so we can all feel better

DD won’t be looking at this in absolutes. He’ll see the knowledge and experience as an asset that would be stupid to throw away.

  23. lets all do the huddle on

if you had ended your comment after the word ‘looking’ then it would have probably been nearer the truth

  24. There cannot be many amongst us who think we don’t need major change; and a lot of major change.

  25. blantyretim is praying for the Knox family on

There has been talk of Ross D for several years as unlike his dad he has an affinity for Celtic according to what has been said , Dermott sees Celtic as a side issue whereas his son actually supports us
