  1. God what a mess we are in , something has happened at Celtic park . You don’t just go from quadruple champions to this bombscare we are watching now . A few posters myself included commented that one , we thought some of our players had overstayed there welcome , another thing that was noted by many posters that we were to light and too soft , needing much more aggression in the team . And to be honest you don’t get away with selling your top players for huge fees and buying run of the mill replacements which is our norm . We know selling KT for 25 mil we’re not going to spend that amount on a replacement ,but a little more than 2.5 – 3 mil would have gotten us better quality , up to now our full back positions have left a lot to be desired and unsettled since mikel and kT left . Centre back the same ,we moaned about Boyata , we would take him now without hesitation . Berkovitch again IMHO is better than we have at present . Oh to-have a van dyke . I’ll be honest and say I was never a fan of big ajer but the lad is playing well at the moment . It’s not long ago we were saying we could do with a few coming in and we would be some team , that has changes to us keeping a few and clearing out the dead wood , we again IMHO have guys pulling on that jersey who are not worthy , and Guys who don’t want to be pulling on that jersey . A clear out is very much needed , money is needing spent , have we the scouting network to identify the players we need ,I am unsure of that too unfortunately . So much wrong with our great club at the moment ,but we haven’t reached the last rights stage yet . I hope we can bring in a manager – coach with a pedigree. A proven CV , assistants who will be an asset to the manager and the club ( we had that with BR and CO ) top notch scouts to find us the types we need , and men at the top who will let the management team go about there job unhindered . Am I looking for to much . Time will tell . HH

Stop looking for excuses — If the CJ diagnosis has been confirmed then he has CoViD19.

Just a case that he is asymptomatic — no symptoms locally but still expressive.

If that is the case then his close contacts have to isolate.

Not great for us but that is what we have to do as a society to try and stop the pandemic.

There are huge issues with the UK’s response — “self isolation” should put BoJo out a job.

All the talk in The Grauniad today is pandemic 101 — just a case that it has taken the stupid Tories 10 months to learn the lessons.

  4. I would also add Kris Ajer to my earlier list of Celtic players for the future…I had accidently left him out earlier.

Ajer, Soro, Calmac, Christie, Griff, Eddy ( IF still here),, Turnbull, Rogic. MAYBE Julian ?

8/9 Players in total and without a Goalie in sight….as for the rest of the squad Players…they will never be good enough for Celtic…in my opinion of course ?

    Reading back

Excellent post which concludes with my dilemma.

How can I continue to give this organisation my financial and emotional investment when we suspect behaviour like that from its custodians?

  6. Just realised Sevco were playing…..doesn’t really matter anymore. Anger has turned to apathy which is worse in some ways…

  7. lets all do the huddle on

eddy and christie want to leave so they can go

not fussed about mcgregor or ajer, if theres decent bids then cheerio

soro and turnbull are the only 2 players i wouldnt want to see leaving

shows the task our next manager has

  8. Big Jimmy 11.59 am.

I don’t necessarily disagree, however, keep in mind that with improved fitnesss levels and proper coaching, a new manager could get more out of some of the under performers (who want to stay).

    Regards to wee Rocky

  9. Motherwell take the lead. Had it not been for the Dubai points dropped, we could be looking at a way back into the race.

  10. Is having a big squad just to make up the numbers? If a regular is out we have a replacement body on hand – nothing more. We probably have the biggest squad in the SPFL but constantly see lack of cohesion and lack of fitness when non-regulars are drafted in. And some of the more promising non-regulars are kept out by underperforming regulars – Turnbull and Soro for most of the season. Gotta be something wrong with the set-up surely anyone can see that. It shouldn’t be so hard to find cohesion when there’s a system you’ve been trained to perform in and how can players be unfit – their job is to be fit! There should also be a rule that when you sell a player of stature at least a third should be spent on a replacement. Average players can easily be replaced but VVD and Tirney cannot and Eddie (although he’s performed poory this season) will not be easily replaced. Chrisitie, Tom Rogic, Ncham and some of the others will not go for big monay and a good scouting system should be able to replace them. But then you need a really good team of successul coaches not just a team with Celtic connections to bring on the new bhoys.

  11. LETS ALL DO THE HUDDLE on 17TH JANUARY 2021 12:21 PM

I think under a good coach, fit, played in the right position and in a functioning midfield, McGregor would be an asset.

He’s not been great for a while but like a few others, they’ll go to other clubs and perform well.

i had no idea what position he was meant to be playing yesterday

i suspect he wasnt too sure either

  13. Wee non football story.

Had a problem on the house roof, 2 slipped tiles.

Phoned a roofer who came out next day, gave me a price and I asked for a quote to paint the outside of the house.

Said he’d contact me the next week with a time. In spite of 2 telephone calls from me he never showed.

Phoned two other roofing companies, from adverts in the local Bo’ness paper. Left my details. Nothing.

Phoned them again and left messages. Nothing.

Yesterday I see a guy up on a roof nearby, so I approached him and he said he’d come round when he had finished.

He’s at the door, has a look, gets his big ladder up and he’s fixed the roof in double quick time.

How much do I owe you?

Och mate, nothing for a wee job like that!!!!!!!!!

He did accept payment after a fight with him!!

Graham, If you are a Tim you are a lovely ghuy.

And if you’re not a Tim your still a lovely guy!

    Thank you so much.

  14. LADTH

I agree Cal McG not playing well

I think the Bhoy has been burst by mismanagement.

I think the next manager needs to give him his place – and a long rest – and build a team round him. He is the first name on my team sheet.

  15. SQUIRE DANAHER on 17TH JANUARY 2021 12:31 PM

I believe McGregor, Ajer, Ntcham and Eddie could go on to perform well for their next clubs if they leave.

I used to think the same about Christie but now I’m not so sure. I think this is his level.

  16. If Christie went to another club he’d get the nonsense he gives us on the pitch coached out of him.

  18. Spot on from John Hartson, who is clearly hurting to see Neil Lennon struggling like this.

“Maybe the players need a different voice. Neil might want a new challenge, a fresh start. Sometimes it doesn’t work, Neil is intelligent enough, he has to see this.

“It has taken me this long to say I would like to see a change, new staff, a freshness, something different. Neil has done amazing. His trophy haul has been fantastic both as a player and a manager.

“I just think the club need to say that they are going to change the manager, whether he goes at the end of the season or now, it is a tough call for me to say it but I think it needs to be done. The time has come.”

Agree about Christie . Watching Southampton last night reinforced my opinion that Christie is a poor man’s Stuart Armstrong . He lacks Armstrong’s polish and football brain .

  20. PHILBHOY on 17TH JANUARY 2021 12:38 PM

Possibly but might be too late to coach his dead balls. Any decent coach would stop him from taking them.

    I know how you feel!

Work was due to start tomorrow on a replacement family bathroom, but won’t now.

A minor irritation at this time.

Mind you by the time I’d spruced it up ( for ripping out) it looked no bad!

  23. blantyretim is praying for the Knox family on

It’s amazing how the heart has been torn out of me by the clowns running our club

I don’t even care at this point in time

  24. Sevco 1-0 down at half-time.

Strange to think that in a season which has been so calamitous and Sevco look to win the league by a record tally, take away Bitton’s moment of madness and the Dubai trip, I’d make us evens for the title…..

    Instead….

  25. GLENDALYSTONSILS on 17TH JANUARY 2021 12:39 PM

Agreed. It doesn’t help that it took the arrival of BR to bring about the return of the Armstrong who had been such an influence at DU.

I still think of him as one that got away even though he clearly wanted to go.

  26. Couldn’t believe some of the comments on here about the players and their performance yesterday.

We’ve played as poorly with a full squad and posts were not as bad.

    A funny old game.

Are any of our players who are self isolating available for Wednesday please?
