You want to call me out as something ? The greatest football managers were no names before they were big names Most studied under different managers and as assistant manager didn’t get blamed for the managers tactics If your assistant manager you do what your manager says or your down the road The witch hunt of JK recently is hunbeleivable

*Ooooops mea culpa, my mistake, I was assuming that Eddie Howe and the current Celtic backroom staff is what you meant.

Let’s not forget we’ve passed this way before with wee Macari and the entourage he brought with him, it was so bad that the Bunnet on looking at the dugout commented on how many people were standing at that bus stop.

Mogga was the same, we are not a bottomless pit and the cost tae get rid of them was self defeating.

Also if EH brings an entourage, as some on here want him to do, there may be a cost to not only hire them but pay off the clubs they are at, and then we have the current staff that also have tae be compensated.

During these tough financial times due tae Covid and no fans as well as a shrinking transfer market there will also be the demand for new players, where’s the Gene Tunney for them coming from.

I’ve always been for retaining big John if for no other reason than it brings a bit of continuity and someone with knowledge of the club and its roots, especially when reading John Collins saying John was always a manager in waiting, not right now obviously, however a thumping of sevco next weekend might change a few minds.

The longer the Eddie Howe saga goes on has me thinking that Roy Keane for a couple of seasons might be the way to go.

Fek EH and the backroom staff, I want my seat changed it was broken then replaced with an ill fitting one, thats what i want changed.

  6. JOHN KENNEDY OLE OLE on

Hi, I would just like to offer support for John Kennedy in the running to be Celtic manager, hopefully with John Collins as DoF.

Reality is much in need at this time.

Fans say they won’t renew their tickets if John gets the job, that would be their decision of course, but I ask posters/fans to take a step back and evaluate if not renewing is a wise decision when there has been a host of reasons not to renew in the past 9 years, and none of these contentious reasons were acted upon, by not renewing.

What does that say about us as fans?

Do we just go for the easy target?

Would taking a stand against other issues be nearer to getting to the point?

John Collins as DoF might be in the pipeline, given how hasty Broony was to announce his departure.

In the past, and maybe even nowadays, would John Collins be merely getting to the point by demanding that well paid athletes should be ‘at least’ as fit as JC is? Why would that be a problem?

You don’t make your way into Martin O’Neill’s dressing room unless your tough as teak.

MON’s face the day after John Kennedy’s international injury spoke volumes about how integral John Kennedy was to MON’s plans, my dad said “JK was looking like a young McNeill” a sage my dad is, never tires of telling me that he saw Celtic when they were the best team in the world, they certainly were that.

How much experience does it take to manage Celtic in Scotland when we have more resources than the rest of the SPFL put together?

In a personal note, I used to bump into John and his family at evening mass on a Saturday night. Bless them.

I hope fans realise that its a good idea in the West of Scotland to dial down the rhetoric, JK does that, but not in a conceding way, but in a stout gelling way.

You don’t sit next to the range of Celtic managers that JK has, and walk away knowing nothing.

Stevie Clarke did the same down in EPL, and he hasn’t turned out too bad.

My three acceptable names to be next Celtic permanent boss…

    1. John Kennedy

    2. John Collins

    3. Roy Keane

Build up to this weekends clash whenever the goatherders decide on time and date

4 strikers on the books, but, we haven’t got a NO.9 we can play with any real belief and confidence in he will score against them in the forthcoming cup tie, Edouard the most talented of the four will play this weekend I hope Edouard gives us a goodbye gift of a performance

Long overdue measures to reduce Chelsea loan player fiasco

FIFA plan to create a bank through which all player transfer payments will be made, be it to the selling club, to the players’ representatives, their previous clubs or any other party, due to many clubs’ underhand intentions.Generally, the bigger sides aren’t the problem for FIFA, but world football’s governing body estimate that each season about 50 million euros in training fees aren’t paid to the clubs that players spent time at between the ages of 12-23, and they want increased transparency.FIFA will create a control chamber that will see all payments pass through it, and they will be responsible for distributing the money to each recipient.Gianni Infantino commissioned a number of studies that showed those training fees are often neglected. They also plan to cut down on the number of transfers made, with Chelsea being a case study as they have 53 players out on loan and there is a club who have as many as 100 footballers on the payroll.

  11. Getting team selection correct for Cup tie will be important we need runners, players who will win tackles as well as carrying Edouard

Definite starters for me are these 9, if Forrest out, Christie in

Bain, Laxalt, Welsh, Ajer, Brown, McGregor, Elyounoussi, Edouard, Forrest(Christie)

Do we have a surprise element and go 3-5-2 or 4-3-3, its a cup tie very tempted with a 3-5-2

I have never voted Conservative in my life – my Dad would spin in his grave if I did.

I was a member of the Labour party for over 35 years until Commie Corbyn came along. As a member, fundraiser and campaigner, I kicked off helping Brian Wilson win in Cunninghame North in1987 – I also worked with Jim Murphy and Jackie Baillie amongst others.

    …………………..

How ” Boastful” of you…would that be the very same Jackie Baillie who RAN AWAY from me at my front door, when I asked her…..” Why did a LABOUR Controlled Council ( A Party who are ALWAYS Spouting about protecting Jobs ), ILLEGALLY SACK a Man who had supported Labour for almost 40 Years in his Adult Life…and then sit back and do NOTHING to help that Labour supporter get his Job back ?

The ONLY Political support I got came from TWO Lib Dem Councillors ( A Party that I have NEVER voted for), one of which was Mr Charles Kennedy ( Ex Lib Dem Leader and another good LIB Dem Councillor called Jack)….who BOTH spoke out strongly AGAINST the shocking decision by a LABOUR Council to take my liviliehood from me and put me on the Dole Scrap Heap aged just 54….and with little or no hope of ever finding another Job….

    THAT Jackie Baillie… ??????

Feck all to BOAST about ” working with Baillie and Murphy” !

  16. Jackie Baillie was the one who decided to chap on MY Front Door…I didnt invite Her.

Watched Robert MacIntyre great result. Interested that he had a shinty background hence playing lefthanded I believe the Highland area has more lefthanded golfers % wise due to playing shinty. Read that when he’s home plays with Oban Celtic but that will probably stop with his new Status

Thought I read he played for Oban Camanachd, but either way think he will concentrate on golf for a while. I mentioned on here a while back that Glasgow was once a major Shinty city, still has some presence there. The Glasgow Celtic Society was formed there in 1856, and the Cup they originally offered to the Glasgow Shinty Association is still played for. I’ve often wondered if that is what influenced Brother Walfrid in his choice of name for our club. Seems plausible to me.

  25. lionsroar67

Think Brexit changes the situation vis a vis EU players under 18, but no doubt the Chelsea’s of this world will still amass players from all over, inducements here and there, occasional success, or the scrapheap awaits. Remember wee Islam Feruz, didn’t work out too well for him. That said any system which guarantees payments for the original club, could only help those developing young players. We’ve lost a few in recent years, but I guess we’ll get paid up down the line. Others maybe not.

  27. CelticMac: Hurling is the Irish equivalent of shinty. However, it is believed that shinty is closer to the original game commonly played in Éire & Alba.

I always understood the our club was called Celtic to embrace all those suffering from poverty, ie the Irish and Scots.

  28. I hope JK has a pop at our friends at the SFA goatherders refereeing association in this weeks presser, something along these lines

We recognise we face a difficult task, Sevco have conceded 3 domestic goals at home, no doubt good defending, however, it appears they have the luck of the gods as oppositions find it extremely difficult to be awarded a penalty in Ibrox it appears you have to be assaulted with a baseball bat to qualify, even to score a perfectly good goal as Hibs found to their cost last week can be ruled out as being in close proximity to a Sevco defender is deemed an offense

CQN wordsmiths I’m sure can improve, let’s select the best and send it to the PR men

  29. Is anyone else having issues getting goods into the country.

  30. Howe described as “ the identikit Desmond appointment “

John Kennedy is a Peter Lawwell product, but he could be the Celtic manager one day perhaps, just not this time round. When you live in Glasgow and watch Celtic on the box with sound effects like you’re in Beirut, from when Sevco win their first title, a few more silenced bangs don’t measure up to much. I like the cut of Kennedy’s jib, he made more noise calling out the SFA, and echoed Neil Lennon who was regularly was hand fed to the press from the Bolingoli days by Celtic’s virtual board. Absentee large shareholders with twiddly moustaches are one thing, but when the Chairman and the CEO decide to take a lock down year out, or a career break around 10, what could possibly go wrong?

What can John Kennedy do with the same players? you may ask, same training regimes, same shape, whatever it is, he had them put a long overdue 6 past Livingston in the only game we’ve scudded anybody this year. Celtic supporters watch with weary eyes, and any progress made, will only be measured if Celtic follow it up with a win in our their next cup tie, where the SFA have already made their move, and appointed a favourite referee, just in case.

A win at the stolen stadium could be the perfect pick me up for our support as we await Eddie Howe’s decision which prompted another diplomatic John Kennedy quote, reiterating that the Celtic vacancy is massive in modern terms. A wobbling press with the knowledge we’re homing in on the best, the next few weeks could begin to heal the hurt felt by a support watching the birth of the next era.

    Hail Hail
