  1. Thought the red was starstruck by Meelan tonight. We got new haw.

    Officious we jobby he was.

    Not that it mattered.

We were not well beaten by “Italians”.

We threw it away against a second rate tribute act who were playing from memory.

We lost because we did not get it right in July and August.

We lost because we are content with second rates running our club.

Complex issue — NL is not getting the support he needs.

Complex issue — PL is a complete and utter numpty.

The pundits might have a point ! That ball was Forsters’s all day long he was 4yds out FFS

  4. Lenny picked the wrong team tonight. Tactically inept allowing Kaka space and time to do what he wanted.

The problem is that he is not learning and tonite was the worst I have seen.

Furthermore persisting in a one footed, one paced centre half in midfield is bizarre. There is zero creativity in the team.

It’s time for Lenny to move on ; we are in decline and the football is becoming a chore.

Token Tim I don’t subscribe to the WGS approach as I drove the fans away ; altho he did have Naka and Aiden.

Lenny time to do the honourable thin so we can bring in a new coach and prepare for ne season. Can’t be bothered with this dross anymore.

  5. Derk bought for speed to hit teams on the break away form home – 2 away games against good teams – we attack them!

  6. Mmmm,

Just received a text from a Milan supporting relative of Mrs S of T. The black sheep of an Inter supporting family/ the one that supports Udinese is simply regarded as a contrarian.

” Cant believe how easy that was .So easy I will need to wait to see if we have finally found form ”

Down in the dumps , resisting having another slice of cheesecake CSC -Way down south.

  7. TurkeyBhoy, few keepers in the modern game don’t come off their line.

It is a general failing, I can’t, offhand think of any keeper who comes out and flattens players to get to the ball now.

As for the rest of your wee rant, I know, I’m hurting tonight too.

Get a bit of perspective on this with some time. We are still on a steep learning curve in this league, we need to be in it to get more accustomed, and frankly to attract the players we need to compete. We are short, but not by so much mhate.

    Keep the Faith.

  8. Accurate analysis requires a cool head. We are all very upset.

Let’s face it! We are a pot 4 team who came 4th in a group where all 4 teams have a proud pedigree.

I’m proud to be a tim. Win, lose or draw!!

  9. Get the board to spend five million at a time on journey man players. Then pay massive wages. Then become rangers. OR support the hoops. Accept that we canae beat everybody. Hope that our youth system is making progress. Accept that systems help win games when your the underdog but generally the team who pass the ball best and take their chances end up on top. Get a bit scunnered here. Mostly lurk, but find some stuff here hard not to reply to. Most people here will have kicked a baw and to assume a victory or even draw against a serie a team is optimistic. When we steal a result against great teams neils a genius. When we don’t beat off form teams hes a clown. I feel a wee bit ranty here but I love Celtic, win lose or draw. When Celtic start winning every week ill be delighted. When we win the big cup for ten in a row ill be ecstatic. Or, we can keep surviving and performing as well as we can. Like most other clubs do. God bless everyone tonite. Tomorrow we w still be Celtic supporters.

    Soz, lhad. I’m gutted too.

Gutted at the bean counters failing to invest, combined with the travesty of no living wage minimum at CP.

    It’s not the board’s club. It’s ours.

Football wise, you fail to invest and you nurture failure.

On a human level, the £1m a year to PL is sickening when staff at CP can’t get the living wage.

  11. Mad Mitch….we were completely outclassed and beaten by a team who are currently 13th in Serie A. FACT. Get used to it.

Our scouting and procurement is derisory. Look at our purchases and tell me how well they have done.

    Gerry

  12. Doc

Aye, they were cute, something we have never been good at, problem is, we are a big club from a very small TV revenue country, and when we try these things, it backfires on us.

We are where we are, we either just have to lump it, or feck knows anymore.

Are we just waiting fro the return of the hun, in whatever guise that turne up, I reckon so.

The group stages are the boards ambition, they have no desire to do well there, that is patently obvious.

Choices, choices mi amigo, as canamalar said earlier, the board apologists will be able to pick and chose their seats next season.

    Sadly he is right.

    Your lady knows her stuff btw >}

  13. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

We just don’t seem to learn from our mistakes. Attacking team v Juventus – disaster. 0-0 in the San Siro, we make two attacking substitutions and it all goes wrong again. Go with four attacking players tonight – what happens? No surprise there. Should have gone with Kayal-Mulgrew-Ledley and left out Forrest or Boerrigter. And that’s not hindsight.

Sammi up front on his own – failed v Elfsborg. Failed again tonight.

Zonal marking – don’t get me started on that one.

Any team missing their captain for more than half of the campaign would feel it, so Scott has to take some of the blame too.

We over-achieved last season. Six points this year would have been a decent campaign. Three is really disappointing.

Please – don’t spend any more money on second-rate strikers who can’t get near the team. Would rather see one of the young lads get a game.

Don’t want to blame individual players – they all gave their best and mistakes will happen.

  14. lenny might not need to worry about funding for players at Celtic – he might be elsewhere due to his own frustrations

  15. While the board gets it in the ear, remember our Management team, scouted and recruited two strikers at a combined cost of over £5m.

None of them were deemed good enough to start in possibly our biggest game of the season

  16. Dexter

No Problem I know we had our differences in the past but we’re Tims and we’re all in this for the long haul and jeezo sometimes it is long, we got our ass kicked in Europe this year and there are no easy answers to the level of investment when we play in a league that is decking under the watchful eyes of our ruling body, Celtic suffer most I believe from this omnishambles that surrounds the national game..

Fine lines, we fell short of them this year..

Time now for Neil to try out some new ideas and players or get rid of them, the squad size is creeping up again and that’s not a good sign for me..

Down but not out in the valley..

Where do you live by the way?

  17. aromananonly1

For gods sake dont mention Finnbogason,a guy that actually scores goals, its a bad word to some on here.Too expensive at £5 million.Who says?,John Park.

Samaras clattered in the box, a foul outside the box is a penalty inside. Should have been, that was premeditated and cynical.

    /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

What was the score….was it tight at the end? Did we just get done by a couple of bad decisions? Has happened in the SPHell……………..but ………………..

Re-read my posts then engage brain.

ACM were very poor — we made them look good.

We played some good football and got nothing = Unlucky.

We had possession and field position / corners and looked like CL tourists — just there for the autographs.

We played SPL defence and got turned over 60% of the time.

We have a team — CF excepted — unfortunately NL can’t currently find it.

    He needs help.

  20. glendalystonsils on

The reason we overperformed as pot 4 team in the CL last season was that Wanyama and Hooper gave us an edge over the pot 3 Russians.

Pot 2 team Benfica were clearly the second best team in the group and were unlucky to finish 3rd.

This year, a weaker Celtic team were in a group where the pot 2 team could have been a pot 1 team, and the pot 3 team could have been a pot 2 team.

When teams zonaly mark, the defender has to take charge, keepers stay on their line, end of story.

  22. Barca can go out and get just about any player they fancy.

Milan spend tens of millions on individual players.

Even Ajax spend three or four times our limit.

This year we didn’t punch above our weight. Whose to blame?

Maybe we could get seriously into debt to get to Ajax’s level.

  23. THE EXILED TIM-Free the Dam 5

Yes the Zonal marking was shocking,it always has been, but a high ball 4 yards out?.How close does it have to be?.Their keeper either punched or clutched everything, thats the difference.

  24. Gerrybhoy, just watching the reply, didn’t see it live, 0-1 at that point when Sammy clattered.

Bad decisions make a difference, I also said the chances which fell to Derk and Beram could have been taken, they would have made a bigger difference.

I wasn’t blaming a decision for the defeat at all, just commenting on what I’m watching.

  25. If you accept that on the majority of occasions we will beat SPL teams because the extra money we spend gives us that edge, then logically we will also get beaten on the majority of occasions that we face teams with far greater resources than us.

  26. Samuel Eto and Dimitar Berbatov out of contract 2014 both 32 with Dimitar valued at 4.5 million Samuel a wee bit more at 10 mill (for a fecking 32 year old) Oh Shane Long also out of contract
