Have you ever been to a game before, where a referee has to go over and tell the linesman to raise his flag ? This was several seconds after we scored

If Clancy knew it was offside, why not blow his whistle before Tom scores ????

I also though offside, but rewatching the clip, not absolutely sure, there was a Motherwell defender across in the middle of park who looked to possibly playing him on ????

Sure Celtic could ask for clarity :-)))

  2. Thanks posters re TR ‘goal’

When the pass was made I did think offside but couldnt believe no whistle ……

    Anyway…

    Fair enough

    HH

  3. SUPERSUTTON-noticed KT getting in the linesmen and the refs face a few times today, and so he should,he should point out any foul and make s big thing of it

  4. Cowiebhoy. Nope. Never.

But, they are mic’d up now so could have been in conversation. I saw replay of the incident and it still looks offside, though not by as much as I thought.

Well done The New Sixty Seven Heroes!

Can’t remember who said it in mid-week….think it might have been Philbhoy, but the football and scoring was suffering a wee bit because of the aim of reaching sixty seven. Same thing happened a couple of seasons ago when we went a thousand minutes or so without conceding. Now that we’ve reached 67 the next target will be a century, but no matter what, this has been a tremendous achievement.

Every Celtic fan throughout the globe will give their gratitude to these players and enjoy a really great time to be a Tim. Thank You Celtic. We Love You!

When I met you in Lisbon,I knew right away there was something I liked.

    Those last two sentences,aye. Smashing,mate.

  6. COWIEBHOY-me and my dad had kissed and cuddled for at least 20 seconds after the ‘third’,:-)) come on ref ffs:-))

Many would give more than an offside goal for that experience today :-)

Cherish every game with your old man and reading your posts I know you enjoy every minute

    Hail Hail

  8. Who would win a fight between…..

A pishy Strasbourg team who parked the bus and skelped the greatest team ever, PSG ?

    Or,…..

An Invincible pub team skelping Cellic team who have avoided being skelped by a pishy pub team for the 67th gemme in a row ?

    Yeeeaaaaah ha.

    …..oot.

  9. JIMMYNOTPAUL& DALLASDALLAS

I’m happy with a point at Bankies today after a wee bit of turmoil at Girvan last 2 weeks , got Pollok at home next week , Jimmy thought your game would be off today , some result for the HOOPS BTW ! HH !

  10. The TR “goal” shambles.

At the time I thought everyone on the park thought he must been offside as he took a forward pass in that area of the park.

However there was a defender on the other side of the penalty area who was “well” behind their defensive line consequently I thought we had got lucky and a defensive mistake had made the goal legal.

Cue the interminable delay, the infield MIB looking at each other and doing nothing.

Then comes the delayed reaction and KC signalling no goal / offside.

Now for the conspiracy theory and the Dougie Dougie angle.

The fourth or fifth official calling the shots in cases like this.

Sometimes with the help of a handy TV replay or sometimes just reminding them of the Ludge MIB rules of the road — show no mercy to the good guys aka us.

The huge delay has to be suspicious.

It is not the first incident like this I have noticed but it is the most obvious.

We are getting ad hoc TV replays / external influence as part of the refereeing process.

Any other thoughts or evidence on this?

  11. Just popped on briefly…

Firstly, many thanks to my ticket benefactor today, much appreciated after the Lhad screwed up the ticket transfer.

Secondly, today’s first goal was a thing of beauty. They type of goal that Brazil 70, Hollan

  12. Gerryfaethebrig on

    Kev…

I know I shouldn’t because when I respond your alter ego best Blantyre friend will then try and get a rise

    BUT

Why not post about young Edouard ?

Why not post about 67 not out ?

Why not post about our chances on Tuesday ?

Nah, Strasbourg is the first team you post about

Over n out, Celtic fan by name not by nature

  13. Sorry, went early again….

Holland 74, Celtic 67-74 , Barca ( any Pep team) . The type of goal that beats any defence, pure football. Privileged to be there as records continue to tumble..,

God bless the Celtic family. HH

    PHILBHOY

I had a smashing wee day away from Swindon. I was getting stir-crazy,nearly a fortnight in the town without an away day!

Went over to Bristol to meet BILLYBHOY05 and his child bride. Who’s the same age as me-guid Kilwinning lass-while he,erm, isnae.

I’d be surprised if we spent five or six hours together. A lot of effort for such a short time. Worth every second, even if most of it was spent trying to explain why he was wrong(!)

    Bill sends his regards,btw. Still independence-fever wi him,but I like him,my Dad likes him,and my Uncle Jim-The Growler-likes him.

    Not sure that’s much of a reference,mind.

HH and say hi to the “lovely girl” winners.

  16. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

To repeat my theory posted earlier re the “goal”, I think that the linesman thought a Well player was the last to touch the ball and not Edouard.

The ref asked him why no flag and he, the ref, confirmed that Odsonne had in fact played the pass.

    Flag raised, no goal.

Reading the reports,it was a tap-in. So clearly you know sod all.

I thought it was two touches-including the finish-from about 25 yards out.

Just as well we don’t have to tell lies for a living, but isn’t it sad that people do? That goal was a thing of beauty.

    Tap-in,my arse.

While Edouard and Forrest take most of the plaudits today, Johnny Hayes showed at last that he can do a job for us ,at least domestically. With Paddy out for a good chunk of the season and the in form Jamesie needing a bit of protection and rest , Hayes could be a very valuable squad member. I think he proved that today.
