  1. Just home from CP. Egress is easy enough when the crowd is small enough.

Celts played some pretty football and some speedy, interactive passing- very easy on the eye. We clicked tonight- the 2 new contract bhoys (well done Celtic!) and Sinclair (must stop calling him Trevor) were the pick of the bunch but Janko had a good first half and Broony and Callum always made themselves available to receive the ball.

Motherwell were quite tricky tonight with two ex-Celts, McDonald and Chalmers among their best. They shaved our post twice in each half and, for the second game running, an ex-Celt missed a sitter against us.

First up close look at Brendan’s team in a competitive match. There are many similarities with the Deila set up but, tonight, we executed them better and maintained a faster pace for longer. Two major changes I spotted:- first. our centre backs split to receive the ball from the keeper half way down the side of the penalty box rather than 5 to 10 yards ahead of it so we give the pressing opposition forwards more space to cover if they are going to try to steal the ball and, secondly, Brendan let Dembele, Rogic and Sinclair remain upfield even when Well broke in numbers which meant we did mot lack support when we broke away.

Best performance yet, especially since we had such a young team at the end with Callum sporting the captain’s armband. And especially since we played two of our Ladies team at full back, Sadie and Izzy.

A very enjoyable night in the rain. I even met Jobo, taking a break from introducing the Green Brigade to the older Celtic songbook.

  2. Great performance and result tonight. I’m getting excited about next Wednesday already.

Btw cut Robbie Neilson some slack. Yes he’s wrong about Walker but he is standing up for his player.

He is no lover of der Hun. Remember his training with ten men to get ready to play them in the Championship. That was brill.

  3. Would have been grand if Broonie had smacked that into the net…a huge player for us ….Brendan inviting his good self and lady down to London town at the first opportunity was a braw move …he has definetely had a word with senior players…that should be kept…

    What a dressing room …..

    Exciting ….

    I love it ..

Brendan is running the show, another brilliant interview in BT, he is putting the media in their place, defo a lot of MON in our manager

Listening to him is hypnotic, even shuts up Craigan & Big Chris, don’t like slagging Sutton deep down he is one of us

  6. Well, I telt yees

OK Sevco didn’t get Alloa or Morton at home but did you notice that they used our beloved Celtic as a vehicle to remove Sevcos bogey team from the competition? You just canny be up to them!

  7. Joe Filippis Haircut on

Well done the Bhoys a good win and Alloa in the next round. Brendan certainly comes across well in interviews and the players are playing for him I certainly like Sinclair and big Tam.H.H.

  8. Terrific performance and some great goals. Well done Celtic! Rodgers interview again showing class, getting reverence from the media!

    Roll on next week!

The difference in our work when we don’t have the ball is as marked as what we do when we have the ball. Energetic pressing and closing down. Movement and finding space.

Ronny’s ideas that he couldn’t seem to implement are evident in Brendan’s team.

  11. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

Braw bhoy, thats awfy nice of you to say. Ive goat a pure beamer on.

Hail Hail to you from the Angus Green belt.

  12. Of course the tribute act is at home.

Getting them as much as possible in the coffers is a prerequisite for the establishment.

    No surprise there.

  13. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

Any news on the Paddy Roberts injury, and probability that he may be ready for Wed next week?

  14. Use the photon radiations from your beamer to aid your quest of the shed…..

Moo moo moo my mucker…..may your moon forever shine….

When Paddy first went off, the prognosis was 2/3 weeks as it was a slight strain and not a tear of the hamstring…… I think Paddy is a great player, but Scott Sinclair has the Brendan factor, a player who wants to play for the manager…… Neil Francis / Martin O’Neill is my analogy, maybe not the best but if SS can emulate our Neil that will do for me

  18. glendalystonsils on

How about,’ controversial penalty turns game in Celtic’s favour in tight game at Celtic park’.

  19. Just home from the game, thought that the whole team played well, Rogic and Forrest played exceptionally well. Good to see young Liam Henderson get some game time. It could have been double figures.

Can I just say well done for your part in Roy C”s beautiful wee story from 2006, at least you made sure you went to the game :-)

  21. Travelling as per usual so didn’t see the game. Great result. Sinclair seems a very exciting prospect (finally a bit of quality). Let’s hope it keeps going and if we get into the CL we invest the money back on the park.

  22. Magic sing song in the car heading back from CO tonight. movement and first touch passing very enjoyable to watch. happy bhoys and ghirls tonight. hail hail!

Glad you enjoyed it, BR has got our bhoys chasing and shifting the ball about, I honestly thought with the changes tonight and the crowd being not as full it might have been, might have had an effect, as per usual I was wrong, the players are putting a shift in for the manager long may it continue

  24. An Teach Solais on

Good victory with some excellent all-round performances but CG must work on his kick outs. Short chipped attempted passes in midfield only causes opportunities to our opponents IMHO.

We should now be spared drivel about the miraculous managerial experise of Mark McGhee who apparently is vastly superior to any Celtic manager in post but repeated results show otherwise. HH

  25. Superb stuff from the Hoops tonight and another great interview from Brendan ! Sinclair is a class act !

  26. Terrific performance from the bhoys at Paradise tonight. We are a team playing exciting, entertaining football, at pace.

Our pace is frightening at times, (well except for big Tom, but he does have two lovely soft feet).

Resting the experienced and blooding the youngsters and winning 5-0, going on ten. Brilliant.

Last season I sat with The Battered Bunnet when both teams played similar formations and Motherwell pumped us rotten.

Tonight we owned them right from kick off. Brendan has already made us a far more formidable team.

We press at the right times, we have back up always when we press. We rotate the ball far quicker and our attitude seems to be positive and aggressive.

Scott Sinclair is a very good player. Our front four were excellent and that is without Paddy and Griff.

I could go on all night but suffice to say, I enjoyed that performance immensely.

  27. Celtic only buy players, Hearts develop them.

Forrest, McGregor, O’Connell, Ralston, Henderson and McCart.

Izzy was a baby sitter for the last 10 minutes

  28. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

Cheers wits, I,d like Paddy to be ready just to give the manager selection options. Regardless, we are looking good enough to get through if we play to our potential.

Gftb, Sinclair looks like he is going to destroy defences here and in europe.
