    Hello again all you young rebels.

     

     

    Usual great sesh with the Oz wallopers yesterday in Mornington

     

    consensus among us was that Ronnie is still the man but he needs

     

    some backing with hard cash and Broonie back asap.

     

    Wee mhan is off to scout camp for 2 weeks , bliss, my old body

     

    gets recuperation time only his 2 year old sis. to contend with but she

     

    can’t smash the ball at me as hard as him.

     

    Went to the city for the midnight fireworks at new year as per and

     

    there was hoopies everywhere the princess said ” you would think

     

    Celtic was playing here tonight ” so maybe this is where the missing

     

    thousands from Celtic park are :0))

     

    Spoke to Paddymacoz and once our next big Celtic weekender is over

     

    we will try another best Celtic eleven comp. maybe with Cowiebhoys

     

    suggestion of non scots or even just U.K. players and maybe get some

     

    harmony on the blog again.

    I’m 8 years oulder than wee Hughie and was at the game tae and probably in close proximity tae you two.

     

     

    I hadn’t been tae a game for a while as I was trying tae play the game myself on a Saturday but this game being on a Monday elected tae go.

     

     

    The night before as I left 7pm Mass at St Kessogs on the way out the side door I put half a crown in the poor box and lit 5 candles, a tanner each.

     

     

    On the way tae Parkheid my carolina and I decided tae stop intae the Sarry Heid. Neither of us had been there before but it was a bit of an icon pub so we thought we would try it oot.

     

     

    I had been advised by other apprentices that I worked with tae ask for Lemontops and I believe a white wine called Tornado.

     

     

    Being young, single and earning pretty good gene tunney even though we were both still serving our time we bought 3 rounds, including a drink for an oul punter at the bar, and a kerry oot with change out of 10 bob. FFS standing there in the sawdust we thought we had died and went tae Heaven, that would come shortly later.

     

     

    So off we went tae the game. As has been said earlier it was a cauld misty day and visibility was quite poor.

     

     

    A wee bonus for us was that wee bunion henderson was injured and replaced by a young blonde heided denis setterington, although it was dive bomber wilson who lined up on the right wing.

     

     

    Right away the wee polaris sub scored at our end, the fog at least prevented us from seeing their ugly flags and scarves being waved.

     

     

    Punters around us were still getting settled in and opening their bevy when someone mentioned them scoring, surprising tae us that hudnae been tae a game for a while was the indifference around us instead of despair. It seemed as if we would eventually win.

     

     

    Well we pummeled them for the next 43 and a half minutes but still went in one down at the half. And yet there were only one set of fans singing throughout the break. Us. By that time oor kerry oot was well and truly gubbed.

     

     

    The second half shooting intae the Celtic end was wave upon wave of Celtic attack which eventually led tae a hat trick by the much maligned Stevie plus an exocet missile each from Charlie and Bobby respectively, and yet for this wee mhan the star of the show was the Bear who tore the zombie defence tae ribbons.

     

     

    For me they 5 candles the night before were paid back by goals. It should be noted that only 7 of that team would play in Lisbon 16 months later.

     

     

    That night I sobered up on the train going hame yet watching the highlights again got drunk even though I had nothing tae drink since about 3pm that afternoon. That scrumpy and tornado seemed tae have a repeating effect.

    I’m fickle, I couldn’t care less if the tea lady picked the team or players as long as they gave 100% and played entertaining football, I don’t see enough of that, if that makes me a h..or poor Celtic fan in some eyes..well…I’ll just have to live with that.

    As delighted as I am with being 3 points ahead at top of league I thought some players performance was not anywhere near good enough to pull the hoops on again – Commons and Cifci were appalling

    Just reading back, I cannot believe how much of a “closed shop” CQN has become. Early union members will know what I mean. We are still top of the table, and I predict we will win this league by 18 points. If you don’t agree, I don’t give a feck. HH :-))))

    Commons was indeed very poor, however, you’re never going to get the best of him when he’s played either wide left or right.

     

     

    Our goal yesterday came from him taking a shot 20 yards out right in front of goal.

    I wrongly posted earlier that from our view yesterday, Nir led with elbow. Having just watched the highlights, I was wrong . My apologies.

     

     

    No mention of the two penalty claims in the first half yesterday by the Sportscene panel.

     

     

    Calum McGregor looked like he was pulled back , in the second half, when trying to score from a rebound.

     

     

    Cifcti’s disallowed goal was a very good finish.
