“The very word secrecy is repugnant, in a free and open society. For we are, as a people, inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret proceedings and to secret oaths”…

“For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence – on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day.

It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations. Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried not headlined.

Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed.”

Morning, all. Hope you all enjoy your extra Bank Holiday north of the border.

    Bassas…

I was thinking about WEEFRATHETIM’s suggestion that we can win the league by 18 points. Now I’m the first to admit that much of our football thus far has been below expectations, but…

Win our game in hand and beat Aberdeen twice, and it’s highly possible.

Which is gonna make us mineshafters look clever, innit?

Having said that, nothing would please me more.

Very kind words the other night, mate. My grateful-and humbled-thanks.

I think you know where I stand wi Ronny. He has my total support, even if for no other reason that he will almost certainly be replaced by another project, and subject to the same restrictions.

Hope you and your family had a gran festive season. Are you still up Brisbane way? Pockets full of Gold Coast gold?

  11. Morning all.

Glad to see Johansen getting credit for his performance on Saturday. I said after the game I thought he was one of our better players.

Good to see Efe getting some credit too. A couple of his gaffes were mentioned, of course, but no one seemed to think fit to mention the blunders that Commons made that led to PT having their 2 best chances in the first half. Imo, Commons is not trying a leg at the moment. Could he not be even bothered to take the corners? At one PT corner he was balling the odds at (I think) young Tierney; imo, it was KC’s mistake that actually led to the corner.

The opinion around me was he is past his sell by date.

Let’s give the likes of Scott Allan a run.

Haven’t seen Sportscene yet but I take it that there was no real coverage of the MIB’s awful performance.

Johanssen has been bliddy awful this season,no denying it. But he was a merited POTY last season, and I’m confident his current form isn’t typical.

I’m glad to see Celtic are offering a contract extension. Still only 24,he has time on his side.

As for Efe? Wow,his gaffes are the thing of legend. Let him without sin cast the first stone. He’s not a first-pick for the current African champions for nothing. Keep it simple, keep it right.

Did you think Ciftci was onside for his ‘goal’? I did. The highlights from VALEBHOY allowed a freeze on the pass and Ciftci. Marginal. But on.

    No great effing surprise.

Anyway, never mind that-what’s the weather like for my Dad’s first golf day of 2016 at Kelburne?

In my humble opinion the biggest problem we had on Saturday was the referee I believe Ciftis goal was on side also we were denied two penalties so the score could and should have been 4-0 to the hoops. It is hard when you are playing twelve men.I also believe when decisions keep going against you that should be for you it is only natural that heads will go down.We must keep supporting the team I believe Sundays game at Stranraer will be no push over. H.H.

  21. BMCUW,

A wee deal and my lot can push me any time they like.

Long time since I can remember a retirement do at my place,so more likely a hard negotiation over redundancy.

Hopefully a while off yet. Still a few scores to settle(!)

  24. TBJ says Wee Oscar Knox is in heaven with the angels on

Bbc highlights show the penalty incidents but hardly a comment on them … nadirs goal was only shown from the one angle which always makes me suspicious

As I stated yesterday – it’s the inconsistency of refs that really gets me as a the foul on nadir was worse than the one on McDonald in the motherwell game and the fouling by the mothers was much worse than bittons yet not punished

  25. Joe

Decisions have been going against us since the inception of the club. Whilst it is unfair, and frustrating, it’s never going to change. That’s not the reason we are a poor side, unless of course you don’t agree we are a poor side?

There is a lack of creativity in the side, and a distinct lack of coherent defending allied to a definite shortage of quality up front, (Leigh aside)
