  1. Yesterday — four and a half hours of hurt and two dodgy decisions.

It is looking like a long hard season already.

Two and a half steps forward.

One and a half steps back.

We have a team but we cannot contain any injuries.

Loads of talent but too much attached to 80% talents that now show known weaknesses.

ON: biggest of the lot but is currently working his way through the Ladybird book of Never Wizzers / Could have been a contender chapter by painful chapter.

TR: currently looking for a gig in pantomime — look behind you — as he seems to have lost the little intensity and drive that he had too little of in the first place.

IS: fifteen minutes to get his legs up to temperature plus a 10 minute spell when his passing radar goes wonky.

GT: curates egg form continues — never fails to let us down after he has done the hard part.

OE: still got the talent but has lost any form of nous / game intelligence — it once came naturally now it appears 5 seconds too late.

A back 4 that is scattered to the winds — what do you expect when we had games last season where 3 out of the back were loan signings and poor ones at that.

In five years we have not produced a forward through the youth ranks or a goalkeeper of any note.

Yet still they clapped and never faltered when it came to dredging up excuses.

Lost two and a half years coming back to haunt us again.

Finally — please / please no more talk about FF.

Starting to get embarrassing for all concerned.

Pick the best GK in the SPL — that doesn’t look as if he swims in caffeine — and get him in quick.

VB offers hope but SB is just a fisherman who got lucky — please no more.

Finally x 2 — AP get a pal to talk too.

It is good to talk and the charlatans in the bus shelter are fan dancers of the highest order.

Spread the load — too much for one guy at the moment.

Failing that get DMcK a set of trakkies to help out.

In answer to your question no one comes on here banging a drum for the Tories, in the way they do for the cult.

Doubtless there may be one or two who vote Tory, (and I’m not talking about Scottish Cooncil elections, when we should all be casting a vote for them) but they keep quite about it.

    .

    =========================

Can you point to posts where people come on banging the drum for the snp?

    feel free to post.

i see plenty of support for the fascist vermin thro the like of Tommy the ranter/ jhb by what they DO NOT CRITIQUE..your not to hot on criticising the fascist vermin in london yourself,a power you know wont be back to lab in england anytime soon.

ps Your use of cult fails.spectacularly

give us some insights into what your party did

that blows them out the equation.sad and even sadder lab think its a matter of altering identity under keev.

a sign of your own political self harm.

  3. We are in a bad place and just have to get on with it. Ange and Dom will be in a position to be judged this time next year – hopefully discernable progress will have been made.

Success will not be the watchword this season, transition will be – moving from the disjointed mess we are in, to having a distinct squad core that we can build on.

Dare I say it – we are on a par with the Ibrox squad that Gerrard & co inherited. It took them three years, winning one out of nine trophies. They had the full backing of their support during that time – will we be as patient….I would like to hope so, but I’m not sure!

  4. Lowland League looks like a winner.

It will help the youths calibrate their ability to play football.

Plus there are some nuggets to look at for a cheap buy.

Team played well yesterday against a well drilled outfit full of people who have a talent beyond football. They used their physicality in a fair way and it was a surprise to see us win most of the 50/50’s.

However we are carrying some amount of tourists and ego trippers. It is no use getting admiring glances from half the EPL if you cannot work / control a MF against 5th tier opposition.

New bloke from Watford looked the part plus the other CB looked like he had borrowed his dad’s physique for the day. His dad might be a bit on the short side to be a CB but he was up to the challenge of two local worthies throwing it about a bit.

Still the issue of no forward in the ranks — finding an SPL class 19 year old cannot be that hard. Something wrong with a lack of specialised coaching?

  5. Tom McLaughlin on

Forget the CL. We are a Europa League club. That is our level. Give Ange the season, win the title and straight into the CL group stages 2022/23 and we will find out if Ange has turned us into a CL club.

  6. Tommy joad.

Thank you for that wondwrful post about your dad and what he gave you.Celtic

it displays and says so much about our club.

    Thanks for posting

  7. I’m resigned to a ‘slow’ start to Anges reign. We just don’t have the key positions filled at the back.

Which leaves me wondering if he is enough of a pragmatist to set up a team to protect a fragile defence initially but particularly in the qualifiers?

Maybe I’m being cowardly there, but I have long maintained on here that even the best defenders suffer when midfield players abdicate defensive duties. I’d be content to be grinding out results until the necessary recruits arrive. Build it slowly, get the expansive stuff going in a month or two.

And I agree with the comment above about Amge getting a mate in. Someone you have 110% trust in beside you is invaluable in any field.

sorry for your loss , and echoing

    what AN TEARMANN said .

Just one post like yours makes up for a thousand shitti politti’s .

  9. I see that the surviving half of the Glasgow branch / duo of Socialist Vanguard is back talking politics — fascist this / fascist that …

Things haven’t changed much in the 30 years since the intelligent element in the Cumbie branch of Militant was complaining about the two nutters who were disrupting their meetings shouting the odds about how setting a rate and paying wages was a betrayal of needed proletarian revolution that was about to kick off.

Obviously he hadn’t heard about TB then or maybe he got a bigger audience shouting down the Trots.

Seeming the brains behind it all was a prof at Berkeley.

Even bigger surprise to find that one of the ranters now claims to have an accountancy background.

The stuff you learn on CQN.

  10. ROBERTTRESSELL @ 3:11

    —-

Agree with all you say, especially on a sidekick for the manager. If Ange does ‘do the job’, I’m sure that when questioned somewhere down the line, he will admit to have been shocked by the lack of quality in the playing staff when he took over.

  11. I’ll be overjoyed to win the 2022-2023 season. I’m not convinced the impressive Ange has got enough to cope with our seasonal demands

  12. Lets be clear……..we should have won the nine we had no competition all the money that the rest could only dream about and no “rangers”.

What has let us down big time…………..Recruitment…..Recruitment

Now that is something they have done well.

Can you take our squad and expect them to play like Leeds?……NO.

  13. Tommy Joad: lovely piece about your dad. I always took my students on the stadium tour when we came over for a match.

One year, I chanced my arm and asked would it be possible to lift one of the trophies out of the cabinet and get a group photograph with it. It was no problem at all – we were even allowed individual photos. So, each year after that I requested different trophies to be taken out during our tour. And I was usually the happiest Bhoy getting my photo taken with the trophy.

Ar dheis lámh Dhé go raibh anam uasal d’athar.

  14. We still are stuck with the disgruntled players who downed tools last season and the caretaker Manager who didn’t care and played the same duds as Lenny with the same results. We need rid of the coaches as well as the bad apples who are infecting the new signings and the neglected youths. The first 2 games Ange had an effect but last 2 games looked like a Kennedy team . No goals scored. Yesterday was the worst.

KEEP KENNEDY AWAY FROM OUR PLAYERS

Do not care if N’tcham and Eduoard wish to stay. Sell them.

Do not play Ajer, Boli, N’tcham, Rogic, Christie, Bitton, Griffiths, Eduoard. They betrayed the club and would do so again

Play Welsh, Taylor, Soro, Shaw, Dembele, Mongomery, Abada they will improve. Urhoghide, Connor, Connell, Murray and Hjelde will also improve. McGregor, Turnball, Forrest, Ajeti are already ready. Johnston and Henderson are short of the physique required

Ange, back the youth and the new signings

  15. BIGBHOY on 18TH JULY 2021 4:17 PM

    ———

What is certain – things will get worse before they get better….how much worse and how long it will take is anybody’s guess.

Covid and its offshoots will have a profound effect on football, we just can’t see it at the moment. The high street is a prime example.

Broadcasting and streaming of sporting events without crowds has been shown to be acceptable – that experience and lessons learned from it will have a massive impact in future.

It has been a while since another Covid variant surfaced…..when it does, as it surely will, and vaccines are questioned, how comfortable will people feel to be packed ‘cheek by jowl’ into sporting, or, entertainment arenas?

The world has changed and ‘the genie cannot be put back into the bottle’. Our football club’s return to winning trophies may be the least of our worries.

  16. Based on squad availability the team for tuesday needs to be:

    …………………………………..Barkas……………………………

    O’connor…… Urhoghide…………..Welsh………..Taylor

    ……………………………………soro……………………………….

    ………………….turnbull………………mcgregor…………….

    ………….adabe……………..ajiti………………..eduard…..

If soro does not make it i would drop mcgregor back with christie and push Turnbull up one.

I would pitch in bitton over Urhoghide if fit enough, but only on the right hand side.

I know eduard will likely leave but we are paying his wages and I would want him before any of the youngsters, even if he plays off the left of a 3 man attack. Ajiti needs to play thought the middle and adabe on his cameo showed good pace and willingness to attack down the right.

All far from ideal but still a reasonable strong middle to front.

PS tjink ange has been working them all hard regards fitness so a couple of very light seasons leading into the game should make sure that the legs are fresh for 1st competitive game.

    HH

    .

  17. Sell everybody. Buy everybody. Play the youths. Get experience in. And build a new main stand.

    Keir Hardie Street 1950s

*Interesting photie and sign of what Scotland was like back in the tough old days.

There’s a housing scheme in the Vale of Leven aka “Little Moscow”, called Levenvale which at the time it was built was called wee Dublin due tae the amount of big families that moved there.

The longest road also a bus route is called Lansbury Street named after actress Angela Lansbury’s grandfather George who led the Labour Party in the 30s.

One of the streets that runs parallel to it is Hardie Street named after Keir Hardie and the small connecting road is Engels Street called after the co-author of The Communist Manifesto along with Karl Marx.

  21. There is a Lansbury Street in Gibshill as well, I never quiered the name before, that is a great snippet.

Spot on. These guys turned their back on us when we needed them most, cowards the lot of them, as for Lennedy….he’s a top quality coach don’t you know hence why so many clubs are wanting him as manager.
