I should get one of the kids to show me Twitter thing, nothing worse when Bada Bing puts a link up and others respond saying how funny, I try the link and get a wee light blue burd and nothing else…..

Sometimes my ignorance is bliss :-)

One thing I do know, I don’t need to see your grub to realise it’s magic :-)

    My friends in Celtic,

Over the years the blog has extensively discussed :- food, eating out, horse racing, travel, geography, history, moon landings, conspiracy theories, trials & law, topical news items, politics, golf and numerous other sports, religion, animals, social media, mainstream media, gambling, alcohol, communications etc, etc, etc as well as football.

    ——-

If I post saying I think Griffiths is better than Dembele and you post with the opposite view then we will be happy to have a different point of view. Political posts go on and on and on with no one ever changing their mind or opinion and then it generally ends up with personal insults.

I’m happy enough with any topic of conversation on the blog but the political stuff is usually dull..

  3. GFTB.

Yes it was, it seems all you have to do is click on a username on here and if they have a Twitter account , you get access…..scary stuff

  4. At FT yesterday I turned to leave then immediately realised that I wouldn’t see Celtic in the flesh again this season so stayed on and was one of the last to leave.

I’m glad I did as I witnessed one of the most emotional events of my Celtic supporting life. As usual, Brendan led the team on a lap of honour round the pitch. It must have been down to the acoustics of 500 fans in an empty stadium but the GB chorus of the Scotty Sinclair song was spine tingling. If you’d closed your eyes you would have reckoned there had been thousands singing. It was way louder than the earlier versions.

The moment ranks with the night Davie Provan was substituted in his testimonial game having been struck down with a career ending illness and Winning the Double in our Centenary year. The only two times I’ve cried inside Paradise.

BTW it seems such a shame that everyone exits the stadium so quickly on FT. I appreciate that for some it’s a big issue but it’s a shame that the players don’t get the applause that they’re due. This doesn’t seem to happen in the EPL. Is it peculiar to Paradise due to the road network/ infrastructure?

Bet it won’t happen v Hearts though!

Listening to Off the Ball as we ( ACGR and myself) returned from the game on Saturday and it was mentioned that Celtic had never won the Team of the Day on the show. One guy ( David Farrell? ) said it was the only thing we hadn`t won this season ! After this evening`s awards , he may well be correct !

    ——————————————

    Davie Farrell Good Ghuy .

  6. The ` Rabona` , as I recall, is something many of us did in my youth but I don`t remember what we called it ( if, indeed, we called it anything) but we certainly did not call it a rabona.

    JJ

PS Maybe we called it a `back-flick` or something similar. Anyone recall?

  7. VP

Yes, he was / is a good ghuy. He mentioned, on the show, that he is a Season Ticket holder at Celtic Park.

    JJ

  8. Billy Bhoy

Yes, it disappoints me that so many leave so early. I always wait `till after the end and was wondering what was happening on Saturday when Brendan gathered all the players in the centre then walked round with them to all corners of the ground. The T-Shirt presentation to Scott Sinclair was a touch of class.

My daughter really enjoyed her trek and night under the stars but is knackered and her muscles are all sore as its the most walking she has done in her 15 years.

She is normally peely walley looking , she as very fair skn but has a no baf bit of colour in her coupon due to this fine weather we are having.

Chris Sutton annoyed me a wee “tiny” bit last season as he was against Ronny BUT then backed Ronny then went back again, by the way Chris was correct Ronny is no Brendan but for me it didn’t sit well, but more importantly today in the lead up to the Partick Thistle game BT showed highlights from yesterday, the Scotty Sinclair stuff with the GB & other Celtic fans in the corner was getting glossed over before Chris points out the racism stuff…… I know every team, us included might have eijits or whatever but the GB and 99% of Celtic fans do more good than bad, maybe that’s why good players like Scott Sinclair love our club and the fans…..me personally if Nick the devil (not Charlie) scored goals for Celtic he would be good for me….colour, creed or religion means heehaw on a fitba park

  11. SAINT STIVS @8-14

My feelings on Nir are pretty well known on here.Yesterday i thought he had a good game.

One of his tackle and spin moves in centre of park was excellent and he had one very good defensive play.

Criticism of him yesterday is not justified.

Gerry- i don’t do FB or Twitter but can open 90% of what is passed on to me mate.HH

  13. Not quite sure how I’ve managed to be in Bardolino (Lake Garda, Italy) on Cup Final day – does anyone have recommendations of bars in Bardolino or nearby which are ‘Celtic’ friendly & likely to screen the match v Aberdeen ?

  14. Gerryfaethebrig on

On a total petty and immature level I thought a couple of weeks ago AoW was going to make it 1-1 in Goals for Shay as I had kicked his Glasgow ass in the first tournament, I more or less resigned myself to looking forward to GFS3 to get my lead back but in the last three weeks AoW has managed to get from 17 to 18, I will wait on CRC or Jobo (if he ever returns to EK he might have retired to Ibiza and not told anybody)

AoW….. I informed you on Monday I had took Citeh, when CRC reminded the GFS’ers there was only 3 rounds to go I might have used a joker on Paddy Roberts employers, only reason I withheld that info as CRC didn’t email me until Friday afternoon that my joker was “valid” not sure about next weekends pick but I can assure you my last joker will be against the wee Huns on the 21st

What I meant was Celtic players for me are Celtic players….. I don’t even care if they are Tories :-)

    Bada Bing

I am useless with technology, even though as a civil servant I have sat in front of one since the centenary season, no wonder the Tories are in charge

Sleep well, we have, for a while posted about your grub, I would much read about food than some other posts, each to their own, but hopefully we post about the Hoops as well, hope the job is going well, it takes me all my time to go into Glasgow but I suppose with all that great food you cook your pay packet has to cover that

    Hail Hail

  18. Is there no TV coverage of us winning the treble tonight?

Funnily enough our Chris reminds me of the best horsey pundit on this dear blog

Remember, I remember when you jumped ship and started backing Ronny, just a pity you & Chris didn’t have the backbone to stick with your initial view :-) :-) :-)

BUT you and Chris were sort of correct, give me a couple of seasons of Ronny to get a Brendan

For me Fraser Foster is a brilliant goalie, Fraz v Craig Gordon ????

It’s Craig Gordon for me, even though he hasn’t came up for a corner yet at least he wants to be there, Boruc, I loved, but hey-Ho maybe Bournemouth is a lovely place to live….reap what you sow

Loved that one, is it a Ribena when someone is having a purple patch. :-)))))

Actually i don,t know why it’s called a Rabona could someone explain please.

  23. I don’t leave till every Bhoy and coach has gone up the tunnel.

Big Nir’s turn out the tackle yesterday was class. Wee Griff did similar. Was great to see the team enjoying and expressing themselves.

Boy Dedryck with a fancy flick (intentional!), a goal and smile as wide as the Clyde personifies this season for me.

Gerrky, I just saw Fraser’s penalty save against Liverpool.

Fraser speaking to Milner to try and put him off then Coutinho appeared , Fraser scowled at him, Coutinho then disappeared .

Fraser had an excellent record saving penalties with us, Craig , apart from that extremely important penalty save in Be’er Sheva , Craig is a great keeper but not at penalties unfortunately.

Is it not Rabona because that was the guys name ?

Ribena is different, that’s Latin for black currant :-)

If I am incorrect I blame the schools :-)

The rabona is kicking the ball with the foot hooked around the standing leg.

Apparently, rabona is Spanish for hooky,as in playing hooky from school. So it says in Wikipedia anyway…
