“Glasgow Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic has agreed terms over a move to Lille, with the clubs now to settle on a fee before he leaves Parkhead, according to Football Insider.
The Hoops defence on the opening day of the new season looked markedly different to the one that completed last term, with Hatem Abd Elhamed and Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo making their domestic debuts.
Nir Bitton and Kristoffer Ajer operated in the heart of the Celtic defence, while Kieran Tierney was absent through injury.
Simunovic played no role in the 7-0 victory over St Johnstone and the Croatian now looks set to depart Parkhead and move to Lille.
The report suggests the no-nonsense defender will double his current Hoops wages with the move to Ligue 1 and the player is intent on the switch.
Celtic boss Neil Lennon will be hoping to strengthen his options at the back should Simunovic leave, with Dedryck Boyata also departing over the course of the summer.

GFTB: don’t get cricket myself but we are now at the All-Ireland semifinals/finals stages of the hurling and football over the next few weekends. Great games played by amateurs with sell-out crowds of 80,000 in Croke Park.
Games will be televised by Sky ( I hate them) for people living outside Ireland.
Football Insider is one of the click bait sites. Just looked at Newsnow Celtic where there is a wide variety of sites click baits and reasonably OK ones and I saw nothing about it.
That will be Boyata, Tim Weah and Jozo all at Lille if this is true. Loud sound of cheering from Kenny Miller’s house.
Seriously, I really hope Celtic do not sell any players, especially defenders, with the window winding down. We have already been knocked back by several targets when we had time to play with.

Really hope its a load of made up nonsense, over the next 2 seasons guys like big Jozo are exactly what we will need.

For every story on Newsnow that has a grain of substance to it , there are umpteen clickbait fantasies . Some even have ‘Celticky’ sounding names to reel you in. Most of them tend to spread bad news stories.
Rock Tree, I heard from a reliable Tim a few days ago that there was a possibility of Jozo leaving. He said if Jozo went we had McKenna from Aberdeen lined up, and that as a sweetener to Aberdeen, we would loan them Morgan for the year.
So if it’s true I wouldn’t be totally shocked but there are 5 or 6 sites on Newsnow Celtic & they keep coming up with eye catching headers but they know feck all.
Like my initial information I just don’t react to these stories.
I thought clubs need to agree to a move or fee. Before buying club can talk to player.
This is probably just click bait from a site with that reputation.

The whole point of Celtic news now is just click bait on anything to do with Celtic. And I mean any shite as well as some informed staff. Up to the individual to guess what is pish and not……..
If two or three different sites report the ‘rumour’..then usually there is something in it.
However when it is just one site it usually turns out to be mince.

Anyway Neil has already declared that he sees Jozo as a key man so if he does go I would suspect Neil would be less than pleased – upset even.
The Scotsman now reporting that Jozo has agreed terms with Lille. Their source… Football Insider (Chuckle)
The only downside of all this Celtic success is that other clubs are trying to buy our players.
Rodgers and Leicester I’m most wary of.
Can’t wait until the English window shuts.
If Jozo only has a year or two left on his contract, the club can’t afford not to sell him, unfortunately.
I wish we could them all at Celtic, however it’s likely that some will be sold.

Jozo is under contract up to May 2021, so even if he is not interested in renewing, there is no mad rush to sell him..
Speculation is what keeps us all going around this time but if we deal in facts rather than speculation this has been a very good transfer window so far.
I reckon there will be sales but also more purchases, will be glad when English Window closes though.
Jozo most improved player since Neil came back,plastic pitches is the problem in this league, he can’t play on them,something seriously wrong when you need to pick a team to suit a pitch.

KT wouldn’t go to Leicester in my opinion, but not so sure if Callum wouldn’t
Have a strong feeling the former manager with an 80 million pound wedge in his pocket will come calling this week..we know the three players he would like Ayer,Callum and Kerian…….Would not surprise me if at least one of these boys is living in the midlands this time next week.

Imo, the one player Celtic shouldn’t even think of selling is Callum McGregor.

KT’s contract might be till 2024,counts for nothing my friend. It means that he will be paid a certain amount during that period…

I think it’s somewhere in the middle and the fact that we have 3 extra weeks after the EPL dafties slam shut will at least avoid a Dembele.
Chillwell at Leicester is a cracking LB…so nothing doing, Arsenal will sort their nonsense out and will be a done deal IMO
