If we go to ibrox with any kind of positive thinking we will get murdered.

We would do well to find our own graham murty who might be able to put a negative ,defensive team on the park and luck out a narrow defeat or draw.

there is the problem we don’t have any defenders good enough to play a defensive set up , we could play 10-0-0 and still get hammered , we have pi***d millions on bang average players.

  2. GEEBEE1978

The zombies have signed McGregor, McLaughlin, Balogun, Davis, Aribo, Arfield and Defoe on free transfers, and Bassey for £100,000, and Slippy is using them all. We have wasted millions and could end up 20 points behind them. They are either buying smarter, or are a lot better coached, or possibly both?

  3. I have been physically watching Celtic for 60 years ,when have we ever played one striker consistently.

I despair of this modern system,if we get beat let it be 5-4 or whatever ,if we draw let it be 3-3 or whatever ,we are stifling the players natural ability.

If we lose this league let’s go out with a bang not a whimper .

Sorry Lenny go now and take theimposters directors with you .😡

  4. I didn’t agree with the way BR left us but I always knew back then Lawwell was part of the problem and he has basically cost us 10IAR.

“if there needs to be a change, so be it”.

Yeah he knows it, but its not in his nature to quit when the going gets tough,

and the board will be fully aware he wont jump.

    What an Ungodly mess.

Years in the pipeline. Owned utterly by the board but facilitated by a large percentage of our support.

All of it, every single iota, unnecessary.

NO amount of PR or bare faced denial will bluff this one…

  7. When Lawwell does leave he will leave with a Maurice Johnson legacy…never to darken the steps of Celtic Park again….He will be exiled to some far distance shore….

  8. BIG WAVY on 6TH DECEMBER 2020 5:55 PM

My comment was based on Neil not picking his own backroom staff that was down to one man Peter Lawwell.

  9. ROCK TREE BHOY:

That sounds an awful lot like a defence of Lennon on the grounds that he just won’t quit until he’s got nothing left to give … which is garbage I’m afraid.

This is a guy who wants his money, because he knows that short of teaming up with his pal McCoist in the commentary box it’s the last he’ll ever earn from the game.

Lennon is behaving like a mercenary. Bottom line. This “hero of the club” crap has run its course.

  10. Don’t worry guys, I’ve read on here for years on end that we are a very well run club. I’m sure this is a blip or even maybe part of the business plan?

On the other hand, we could have just being enjoying a monopoly position for near on a decade with all deficiencies swept under the rug; I mean with TIAR in our sights, who cared about the European failures, underwhelming managerial appointments, incoherent transfer ‘policy’, half empty stadium, CEO taking home 2-3% of turnover and being (relatively) pretty much the best paid CEO in the UK (maybe European football)?

I mean with TIAR in sight all was forgiven and (by many) forgotten. But if they blow TIAR?

The thing is, our board have been incompetent for a long time. They have enjoyed the benefit of having little to no domestic competition to expose that incompetence and through compliant media and (certain) bloggers, have lowered expectations so that European failures are met with apathy.

PL should go to sleep every night thanking God that BR came along. Those big bank balances and trebles would not have been forthcoming otherwise.

  11. INIQUITOUSIV on 6TH DECEMBER 2020 6:47 PM

Probably a bit of both…then you add to the fact it’s allowed him a couple of “luxury” signings that seem to be out-performing ours.

Roofe cost less than Ajeti who will never be fully “fit” for as long as he’s with us.

  12. Does Desmond’s other CEO’s leave him as exposed as Lawwell does? Hope he double bogeyed the last hole today, might make him sit up and pay attention.

  13. JAMES FORREST on 6TH DECEMBER 2020 6:51 PM

Some of the same people who say Neil Lennon is “entitled to his money” are the same who called Tierney a “money-grabber” because he tripled his wages and moved to a better team in a better league.

    Can’t have it both ways….

For DD and PL. to put up with this must mean something huge is happening in January

I cannot believe getting bumped is acceptable

PL legacy worse than CEO of Nokia

BTW I really did fall asleep watching today. !!!

  15. Stolen from Twitter

Small crowd outside Celtic Park shouting for Lennon to go.

He came out, spoke to them and ordered them back onto the team bus.

  16. GEEBEE1978

Further to my last post, we spend millions on players like Turnbull, Soro, Ajeti and Klimala, and hardly play them. Where is the explanation for that, other than Peter Lawwell’s failed Moneyball policy?

This is such a huge flustercluck, I doubt it can be rectified by the start of next season.

Look out for PL attempting to wriggle out of Res 12 questions at the AGM. He is utterly untrustworthy and slippery as an eel, complicit in the secret 5 way agreement, the Lazarus like return of the Evil Empire, the pitiful lack of ambition in Europe, and the complete dismantling of any hopes for 10 in a row by the amateurish appointment of an unqualified manager in the Hamden showers. If he is still here next season, I think I am done, after 60 years. The stench of corruption in Scottish football will have finished me off.

Wow – how spot on was he, BR had them truly sussed.

  18. lets all do the huddle on

Some of the same people who say Neil Lennon is “entitled to his money” are the same who called Tierney a “money-grabber” because he tripled his wages and moved to a better team in a better league.

    different scenario

the money due to lennon when he leaves celtic was agreed when he signed his contract so all celtic need to do is give him it and hes off

tierney left while still under contract. which happened to suit both parties but thats by the by

    no similarities

  19. 67ECW 6.59pm

I dint care for any board member but if you actually think in the last decade and a half the Celtic CEO has been “sleeping” at the wheel … I would say you’ve been sleeping for the best part of two decades

  20. LETS ALL DO THE HUDDLE on 6TH DECEMBER 2020 7:03 PM

I’m not saying it’s the same scenario but I’m saying that Tierney was within his rights. We accepted an offer, he signed for another club.

I was more pointing out that it was unfair to call him a money-grabber when he was doing what most people would’ve done and something that suited us as a club.

  21. I don’t know why he won’t resign. But certainly don’t believe that it’s anything to do with money.

He was earning £26k a week 20 years ago

  22. John Kennedy shrugged his shoulders today? Jeez, I must have missed that. I’ve been waiting to see some movement for ages and was beginning to think that the still and expressionless figure in the dugout was a waxwork. Okay, that’s being a bit cruel as I’m hurting like everyone else. I’ve no idea what his input is and it could be that he’s brilliant but being overruled. What a bad spell we’re in!

  23. LAMBERT14 on 6TH DECEMBER 2020 6:47 PM

The day he leaves will be the day of all days for me. H H \O/

  24. I don’t know what John Kennedy does. But I believe that he could have stepped in when BR left and we would still have won the treble

  25. Videos of fans chasing after the team buses down the Celtic Way, how the fk did it get to this?

  26. i hope the directors of sevco do the decent thing and invite the directors of celtic along to their party when they receive the league championship trophy. after all, they couldn’t have won the league without the full support and cooperation of the celtic board.

  27. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

Hopefully it stays that way JinkyRS.

I laughed at that Dundee’s Utd story they were running yesterday. They didn’t give a flying about Dundee Utd, they ran it to drag Celtic in to the muck.

This is a difficult period (to put it mildly) for all Celtic supporters. But as we glare inward towards the board, management and team, we should lift our heads and note that Scotland’s loving it. Hopefully that will eventually bring us back together for the rebuild.

  28. The issue is not L.

The issue is PL and how he runs the club.

We are now back to us hoarding projects / punts / SPL starlets.

Paying well over the odds to the same agents for the same limited / one week wonders.

Our finances are a trainwreck due to a wasteful spends and a lack of focus regarding revenue.

DD is just sitting around waiting for his next jackpot.

The only people who have wom anything so far this season have been the bookies.

30 months ago the future was summed up by the phrase — a house divided will fall.

We are in free fall just now and there is no way out.

The club and the board are junkies for the bigot pound.

Instead of expanding our horizons they were too quick to look towards Govan.

We could have been a football club — now we are a laughing stock.

  29. GM @ 7.16

You are correct — too many in Scotland are loving our current troubles.

And yet the Nat gene is strong in CQN.

  30. St Tams 7.07pm

I think that Neil can no longer bring us the success he had brought us since the year 2000

I will always stand by my mhan, Neil had brought me and many others terrific Celtic times … but if pushed … I think the players have let their (our) manager down … so in a round about way … I might be sort of saying what you wrote at 7.07pm … but am still hoping I might be wrong :-)

By the way … for the record … can the “told you so brigade” then admit to not celebrating every trophy Neil delivered since “they didn’t want him anyway”

    Surely fair is fair ?
