  1. Tony, it does take all types, be boring otherwise.

We have two good strikers there, we have Stokes and Griffiths too.

We aren’t too badly off for strikers who will score.

  2. And the performance today was also progress.

Starting to really enjoy what Ronny is doing.

I fully expect a few bumps along the way still, but we are progressing.

Enjoyed today’s game, could have been 6-8 goals easily for us. Bit concerned in the first 10 mins or so when we easily cut open by St Mirren. After that though we controlled the game and made som great chances, to convert 4 was great. I noticed the stats at half time said we had 18 shots on goal in first half, now that’s impressive. Someone is going to get hammered one of these days.

Delaney’s Dunkey eventually turned up with miniuts to spare to collect his ticket, unfortunately his rep had been distroyed by that time ;).

  4. Doc, II think we have a couple of permutations, and not to shabby either, it takes time, and only time will tell, so let’s not predict troubles ahead thas all I’m saying, let’s just wait an see.

Guidetti for me is the real deal he has the goals to prove it and he has an abundance of confidence Scepovic has good movement and gets in good positions but has little confidence as his lack of goals prove.I would love the two of them to get a run up front and develop an understanding.H.H.

  6. We are making loads of chances yet folk want us to revert to 2 up front?

The strikers got 6 or 7 real good chances today. I see that as a positive.

No need to change the shape

  7. Guernica, fair point, we had a lot of efforts on goal, and the strikers had their fair share.

I’d like to see Guidetti and Scepovic play together, I’m not complaining, just think they would score a lot of goals together, being greedy probably.

  8. Never mind our striking problem, what about our PA tannoy system. Don’t know how it sounds elsewhere but in upper tier it comes across as total gibberish. Can never make out what is being said and like today’s interview with Naka have no idea of the conversation whether is is double Dutch, all Greek or turning Japanese. Surely we can afford more string and new cans??

  9. TBJ says Wee Oscar Knox is in heaven with the angels on

Trying to remember any player who transferred less than 5 months before the end of their contract and commanded a big fee

I think We signed kc with 5 months on his contract but for less than £400k and he wasn’t on loan to us at the time

If jg is gonna sign for us at all I think it’s in his best interest to sign a pre contract in January then move at the end of the season. He can demand a bigger signing fee and probably higher wages due to no fee involved

Also I’m sure he is currently on higher wages than we will pay so he keeps that rate from city / us until the end of season

City don’t hold any cards at all .. They agreed the season long loan which expires when his contract ends . And they can’t demand he moves to another club if they offer a big fee

    Totally

I think the point im (trying) to make is that he is worth 3 million if that happened to be the case

Anyone claimin hes not worth that doesnt have a clue IMO

    B-)

    From SPFL Website . ..

    Celtic’s possible opponents:

    Group A winners: Borussia Moenchengladbach

    Group B winners: Club Brugge

    Group C winners: Besiktas

    Group E winners: Dinamo Moscow

    Group F winners: Inter Milan

    Group G winners: Feyenoord

    Group H winners: Everton

    Group I winners: Napoli

    Group J winners: Dynamo Kiev

    Group K winners: Fiorentina

    Group L winners: Legia Warsaw

    Champions League: Olympiakos

    Champions League: Sporting Lisbon

    Champions League: Athletic Bilbao

    Champions League: Zenit St Petersburg

  12. Travel wise and for a good time.

I would plump for Germany then Belgium.

Florence for a bit of culture.

  13. Been watching Feyenoord v AZ Alkmaar , very entertaining game. Both teams good going forward, defences look like they could be improved by putting Efe in there. I would suggest we could beat either of them over 2 games.

  14. the glorious balance sheet on

We will be drawn against one of the following in the EL draw tomorrow:-

    VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach (GER)

    Club Brugge KV (BEL)

    Beşiktaş JK (TUR)

    FC Dinamo Moskva (RUS)

    FC Internazionale Milano (ITA)

    Feyenoord (NED)

    Everton FC (ENG)

    SSC Napoli (ITA)

    FC Dynamo Kyiv (UKR)

    ACF Fiorentina (ITA)

    Legia Warszawa (POL)

    Olympiacos FC (GRE)*

    Sporting Clube de Portugal (POR)*

    Athletic Club (ESP)*

    FC Zenit (RUS)*

Some decent teams in there that would be best avoided. Monchengladbach and Dinamo Moscow especially. I`d be happy with Brugge, Sporting Lisbon or Athletic Bilbao.

  15. BMCUW –

You make a very good point about signing Guidetti for free on a pre-contract. However, if we go down that road, we risk losing him to another club who are happy to buy him in January for a few million and City grab the cash.

The current loan deal has a right to buy option at a pre-agreed price, let’s say £3m for argument’s sake. If Celtic agree to pay that in January, and Guidetti agrees personal terms, he is our player, even if someone comes in and offers a million or two more.

So paying cash in January guarantees the done deal. Holding out for a pre-contract is a gamble.

I can hear it perfectly in Lower North and I can assure you that it is mostly total gibberish.

Guidetti is on loan to us for the season ….whether we sign him up perma toy or not he’s not going anywhere

  18. hotshot

Very much agree. I’ve stopped trying to understand what he’s saying. I reckon he’s speaking in some kind of Balkan language that hasn’t yet evolved.

    Yeah good game

Agree would fancy chances v Feyenoord

Tough but doable …then only another 4 teams to contend with for Europa Glory ;-)

  20. ….PFAyr, that is correct, keep going like this and you’ll get a reputation for accurate reportage:-)

    Be careful.

  21. Man City have no say (dont know if they can force a recall from loan)in where or when he goes now if JG decides he is signing for us in the summer and signs a pre contract.
