I don’t care much for any SFA but I am delighted Leigh wants to play for Scotland … in fact the more Celtic players playing for “our” national team the better …
In fact that might annoy the “sfa” more than anything … and quite simply footballers want to play at the highest level and with the core of this Scotland team with our Celtic players could actually make a major international tournament … each to their own but am all for every single Celt that can, plays for Scotland ….

Italy has just closed down Lombardy (i.e. Milan, etc) and 11 other provinces, including Venice. For a month. No-one can enter or leave unless under exceptional circumstances. Funerals and church services are cancelled. No public events, cinema, theatre, schools, etc. I don’t know if this also applied to goods.
These are extreme measures, but given the situation, and given that similar measures seem to be working in China, I can’t say that they are out of proportion. The streets here (Liguria) are very quiet, everyone is worried. I suspect that Italy is a week to 10 days in advance of the UK.

I hope Neil knows.

GFTB – couldn’t agree more, I want the National team to be awash with Celtic players as it should have been in the Lions. The Hun pain will be so wonderful and their pathetic support of al, things English so exposed as desperation.

would be great if we went with eddy and griff up front next week just to make a statement to their dodgy defence to deal with us
doubt it will happen though, im thinking having 5 in the midfield will take priority given our struggles in some recent games against them. so i would be happy with that too

Saints keeper McCarthy was in inspired form in front of goal in the first half. He saved everything that was thrown at him, keeping out Gayle from close range and then two efforts in quick succession by Almiron on the follow up.
Gayle was denied again with a point-blank header and when McCarthy stretched superbly to keep out Ritchie’s well-hit spot-kick, it appeared that it was not going to be Newcastle’s day.
Should make our chances of signing Fraser Forster a little easier? That would be nice!

Whatever shape we go with next week griff and edouard should be spearheading the attack. Love watching 2 forwards working in tandom.
It’s easier to pick out a forward pass when you have a couple of choices up top to hit. Its easier to hold the ball up when you have a team mate close in attention. It’s easier to hit on the counter when you have 2 up top.
it’s easier to start an early press on defences and to close out options when opposition midfielders turn out of play with a couple up top. No comfortable possession for the backline and mistakes are more likely when they have less time on the ball.
