Celtic will need to dig deep for victory

1054

Neil Lennon’s most inspirational victory over Rangers arrived in January 2011 when a depleted squad in poor form outplayed their rivals.  Despite this it remains a concern that Gary Hooper and James Forrest, the manager’s two most favoured players, are injury doubts for tomorrow. Whether Hooper and Forrest are fit or not, we’ll need all the fighting spirit from the win last year if we want to leave with another win.

Six days ago at Hampden we witnessed what happens when a team in the middle of a results slump focus on the most game they have left in the season.  Kilmarnock are a team with enormous vulnerabilities and I’m prepared to bet than none of you witnessed their last win over Celtic in Glasgow, but they got the result.  Tomorrow is the biggest game in Rangers’ season.  You can forget about Ally McCoist’s comments that Celtic are firm favourites, that’s what passes as mind games across the city. Any win would be an enormous achievement from Celtic.

I’m travelling hopefully – not tempting fate – this is a win lose or draw day – support the team and the manager and the away support.

    God Bless Them All…

…and thanks for the later link to Kano. Let’s do this for Martin and Steve, Celtic!

Still, everyone ending the day safe is top priority.

    Hail Hail

For clarity, D&P cannot put RFC into liquidation because of HMRC or Ticketus claim, since they are not preferred or secured creditors.

D&P will likely need to go back to court to get agreement any partial payment of unsecured creditors (HMRC and Ticketus).

  7. They know that today’s game cannot affect anything. The league is ours and all of the trouble is theirs. They will see this is a day of defiance.

That means on the park they will want to see fight. If this is a football match we will win. The only plan they can have is to stop us from playing by foul means. And we need to be smart enough not to react.

Off the park the full songbook will be unleashed. Every vile chant will be given an airing in a challenge to the authorities. But what are the going to do? Arrest them all? Fine a club on the brink of liquidation? Take a few more points off?

I hope every one of our players escapes injury today and that all of our fans return home safely.

And I hope they are walking away early as we laugh at them.

I have a string of teaching masses to attend and nobody to cover for me if I am not here.

But I’ll celebrate with you, only from a distance.

  12. As someone who knows Callum Murray personally, i can state that he his a truly decent guy and as fine a human being as you will ever meet.

He may have got some decisions wrong in the past and is the first one to admit that .

Every decisions he makes, is done so with the up most of integrity – I can not think of any other referee i would rather have today.

The score will take care of itself..

Every Celtic player should play with history and tradition behind them, to the memory of those gone before since 1888…

Just where on earth could the owner of a Scottish institution be on a day such as this?

He wouldn’t miss this for anything on earth. And anyway he’s a billionaire whose wealth is off the charts so his every whim could be met if he wished – so I take it he’s just running late?
