CELTIC have splashed a last-gasp £2million to sign Dundee United double-act Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven.
The exciting Tannadice starlets travelled to Glasgow tonight to undergo medicals before the deal is rubber-stamped.
However, there appears to be no snags and at the FOURTH attempt the SPFL champions have managed to land midfielder Armstrong.
They had a third bid of £1.6million knocked back by the Tayside outfit on Sunday night.
The Hoops also offered £150,000 at the same time for winger Mackay-Steven who has already signed a pre-contract to join the Hoops in the summer.
Celtic upped the offer to £250,000 to take the 24-year-old now rather than wait until the end of the season.
They were also determined to get 22-year-old Armstrong at the same time and now a double deal has been agreed at £2million with United agreeing to lucrative add-ons.
Ironically, both were due to face the Parkhead side in the League Cup Final at Hampden on March 15.
