Chasing Celtic will bankrupt the Tribute Act

612

The man who wants to be chairman of Rangers International, Dave King, said over the weekend:

“In particular I see a present need to utilise the time we have over the next few seasons to be prepared, both financially and on the pitch, to compete with our Glasgow neighbours when we get back (sic) to the top League.”

Therein lies the problem.  Oldco Rangers under David Murray were driven, “10-in-a-row and two European Cups” was the target Terry Butcher attributed to his former employer.  They lived in someone else’s shadow but needed to think of themselves as superior.  As a consequence, they lost everything.

Now the same crew at it again.  “Compete with our Glasgow neighbours”.  Why not just live within your means?  Be as good as you can be, run your affairs in an ethical manner, whether you win, lose or draw?  Spend the early years of Newco trying to compete with Celtic and the only thing you’ll achieve is a pervading sense of failure.

The Battle for the Blazer, AKA the bid by King to persuade the SFA that despite the enormous evidence to the contrary, he is Fit and Proper to be a director of a Scottish football team is surely pointless.  Rangers International don’t need King as a director, all they need is his money, or anyone’s money.  King doesn’t need to be a director to exact effective control over the club, all he needs to do is appoint proxies. The SFA must issue the JP McEnroe retort, “You cannot be serious?”

My apologies if King’s target is Partick Thistle.

‘A question to you both if you don’t mind. Am l right in thinking that the UTT will only look at the evidence already presented and dertermine if the FTT came to the correct decision? As such no one will be called to answer questions? Cheers.’

    #####

My understanding is that as a general rule the UTT will only look at the legal issues and won’t hear new evidence.

This case is a bit messy though as there are still some issues from the FTT to be resolved. The tax dodgers wanted those issues to go back to the FTT to deal with, HMRC wanted them dealt with by the UTT.

It was decided they should be dealt with by the UTT. I’m not sure if that will require hearing evidence, though I doubt it. It’s heartening though that now matters have been removed from Scotland they appear to being dealt with as they should.

It’s somewhat similar to what happened with the huns relationship with their bank.

So now that PL is in the SFA Celtic are no longer going to pursue any of the lying cheating thieving stealing bigoted racist ignorant depraved indifference legacy of Scottish football? We just hope that they are going to go broke again and hope it ends there? And if it doesnt not to worry we’ll beat them and maybe Aberdeen and Dundee Utd too? Yeah thats a sport thats a culture thats the beloved pastime I cannot wait to come back. I will take up fishing but then again greed has poisoned all the rivers of babble lying there too.

the furore about the scottish masons reminds of a story from quite a few years ago, that is still particularly appropriate even today in the so called modern scotland

I was an apprentice on the clyde in one of the big shipyards

quite a few folks would go to the nearby masonic club for a beer or two at lunchtime

anyway, one day a few fellow workers were going and asked me to join them there, even though they knew my background very well

i naturally declined to go there for a beer. One of them then accused me of being a bigot for not going to the masons.

In fairness it took another one of them to point out that in fact it was them who were the bigots for going to the masons, rather than me for declining

It sort of sums up the type of reporting that is going on today in the scottish media, where they cant see the error of their ways because they are too blinkered to see any other opinion

  8. Just a thought, but if the SFA refuse to endorse the Lying King as being a fit and proper mason, does that mean that the only way he could get involved in ploughing money into the huns would be by a sale and leaseback of the stadium?

That’s precisely my point. It’s not the same thing across the country and the generalised view that the two are intertwined as a matter of course is incorrect.

In the case of one of my family, it was very much tied up with Council employment and promotion. Which I totally disagree with, but for guys his age (he’s retired now) it’s just the way it was.

The other one is more like the local rotary as far as I can tell. It’s a village lodge, mostly old geezers and the only other organisation they’re in is the bowling club.

Nor did I AM, and I was as half-baked as you until this old retired clergyman, the Reverend Malcolm Ritchie, from Argyll contacted me to offer his support and also sent me a video of the General Assembly when his motion was debated and carried.

I also had the support of two Wee Free ministers, a Belted Earl, the late Iain Banks, a hereditary Lord, a Carmel of nuns, a few Professors, and a Lord Lieutenant, who later withdrew after realising that his boss’s partner and father were members of the Craft!

My previous petition was in a different format whereby comments were immediately displayed and sometimes stayed visible on the website for days before being deleted if they were inappropriate. The petition which did not mention religion or nationality was bombarded with about a hundred highly abusive comments all having an anti-RC and and anti-Irish theme.

My latest petition has attracted 2,141 support signatures and though they don’t tell me what the person does I know from other means that there are a fair number of high-profile legal and other academics supporting this latest petition.

I wonder just how likely it is that even one of the following will happen?

    a) The MSM will report on the SFA giving the deid club a UEFA licence story

    b) Charlotte fakeover will be discussed over the public broadcasting services

    c) The SFA will declare the lying King an unfit person because of his tax issues

    d) Campbell Ogilvie will step down declaring a conflict of interest and repay his EBT

    e) The secret 5 way agreement will be made public and subject to scrutiny

    f) The legal authorities will do anything about the newco being called “The Rangers”

    g) The legal authorities will do anything about the sale of deidcos assets at knock down price

    h) Ticketus lost 20 odd million quid and walked away

    i) Charles green will be taken to task for selling shares in something he didn’t own

    j) Craig Whyte didn’t make a penny out of deidco

    k) Fat Sally took a paycut because sevco have enough money

    l) HMRC will win the UTT appeal and deidco will admit their tax dodging

    m) British servicemen will be arrested at their homes for sectarian singing at Ibroke

    n) Newco own their own stadium

    o) Newco will last the season without going into Administration and ditching their debt again

    p) The Celtic Board will comment on how the shenanigans cost them money

    q) Phil was wrong and the MSM were right
