The man who wants to be chairman of Rangers International, Dave King, said over the weekend:
“In particular I see a present need to utilise the time we have over the next few seasons to be prepared, both financially and on the pitch, to compete with our Glasgow neighbours when we get back (sic) to the top League.”
Therein lies the problem. Oldco Rangers under David Murray were driven, “10-in-a-row and two European Cups” was the target Terry Butcher attributed to his former employer. They lived in someone else’s shadow but needed to think of themselves as superior. As a consequence, they lost everything.
Now the same crew at it again. “Compete with our Glasgow neighbours”. Why not just live within your means? Be as good as you can be, run your affairs in an ethical manner, whether you win, lose or draw? Spend the early years of Newco trying to compete with Celtic and the only thing you’ll achieve is a pervading sense of failure.
The Battle for the Blazer, AKA the bid by King to persuade the SFA that despite the enormous evidence to the contrary, he is Fit and Proper to be a director of a Scottish football team is surely pointless. Rangers International don’t need King as a director, all they need is his money, or anyone’s money. King doesn’t need to be a director to exact effective control over the club, all he needs to do is appoint proxies. The SFA must issue the JP McEnroe retort, “You cannot be serious?”
My apologies if King’s target is Partick Thistle.

Got my attendance card in this morning. Cannot make meeting, so who should I notify as my Proxy in order that I can vote for resolution 12, ie refer SFA to UEFA?
Just in to say…
George Ryan-St Johns Doyle RIP
Thoughts n Prayers for all who are close.
Off oot.
Canalamar, am I right in assuming that the shareholders who supported your resolution application are automatically counted as part of your vote?
I know this is a moot point because DDs share will always carry the vote.

Big Nan,
Anyone whose signed copy was issued in support of the resolution have given their proxy on the resolution, however it would be better if everyone showed up and voted

Rest in peace St John Doyle, some Mhan.

Dont know what the religious background of most of my teachers was – I’d assume as I went to a catholic school in the 70s that they were mostly of the same religious background as myself.
There religion seemed to me irrelevant as all seemed equally well qualified to make their subjects – be it literature, history, maths, physics, Latin or gym monumentally uninteresting.
Not that I am bitter

Is that a case of the old Irish practice of “vote early and often”?
Just joking of course……………well……mm..

Embdae think PL has been voted on to the SPFL Board,to ensure the huns get what they want? Might seem strange but we have said and done very little so far.PL has said we lose £2mil per season when they are out the league, and DD on record as saying he wants them back asap.Tim hat on.

I believe your instincts are right….imo, that’s exactly whats going on

My thoughts just now are that the remains of George Ryan will be on their way to his place of rest. May he Rest In Peace.

Another day and another day that Ally and Co will shed 40 000 pounds.
That’s sterling, not fat.
Not to worry, we are assured that they will still have 1million cash come April.
No money coming in for October though (nae home games).
How’s the hirewire without a safety net, Ally?
Bobby Murdoch – Interesting viewpoint, and point taken. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss???
Hamilton – was being tongue in cheek (though they were catholics and couldn’t control a class or teach). I just think a counterpoint needs to be raised to the masonic/protestant conspiracy theory so predominant on here. It’s not healthy. People on all levels get jobs through friends and contacts – circumstances change all across the globe.
Bada Bing – who knows how murky it all is and how many plots and counterplots are taking place but one thing looks sure to me – Celtic PLC has no desire to see life without Rangers continue for longer than a few short years. And even that is longer than they wanted. I think the worst case scenario PL and the board envisaged was to see RFC relegated to 1st Division. We were, according to those in the know, party to the agreement to keep them alive and kicking and to keep them in the SPL – in return for a few titles and a couple of years of being handicapped with a points deduction.
Our PLC wanted them punished and weakened but never killed.
Scottish football fans from all over the country ruined their cozy arrangement but the board’s announcement today tells you all you need to know. There can now be no doubt about that.
!BADA BING!
Strange figure to pull outa the hat by an accomplished accountant.
2 x £42 x 7k = £588k.
How does he arrive at £2m?
And that doesn’t include deductions for extra policing and stewarding, nor damage to the stadium.
Never mind masons on the board,I’m more concerned about old firm fans on the board.
The very last line on the very last page (8) of the notes for the AGM refers to the response resolution 12
“In the circumstances the Board considers the resolution to be unnecessary and recommends that you vote against it”
This AGM is going to be fun, not to be missed.

No, I didn’t know that – what are they?
Paul, the real problem, apart from THEM sloping the packman, that MSM will not touch with a barge pole is, that apart from Celtic, all other Scottish clubs by trying to keep up with the Murray Madness, are now effectively financially knackered.
Sorry about hte endless sentence.
Has notice of AGM been sent out?

I can’t help thinking that keeping the toxic club in the SPL in return for the loss of league titles and a points deduction for a couple of seasons would have been better than the present situation.
I say this because the biggest injustice – cheating to win league titles that should have gone to Celtic players and the Celtic support – has not been remedied.
I know that justice also required them to start outside the Scottish league as a new club, but I believe only one club – Stranraer – was in favour of following the correct procedure here.
Thanks to the SFA nothing will now be done about the injustice of Celtic being cheated out of league titles.
I should add that I don’t miss them at all in the SPL.
May God bless and keep George Ryan. I never met you Goerge but I’m proud to say I walked with you and always will.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves while Dean Herbert reveals
‘The Celtic board has urged that the motion is rejected, saying that requesting a UEFA investigation would be “unnecessary”.”
He is a Scottish Daily Express journalist lets not forget.
We dont even have Jimmy Celtic spokesperson making an appearance in this article.
We will find out soon enough what the plcs official position is.
I dontthink its difficult to guess.
Peter Lawwell is on the SFA board to protect our plc and what they have been up to so far not being revealed. They are more secretive than the masons and when they act in this manner I think the accusation of masonry is appropriate.

The problem I have with PL is not that he is on SFA Board but that I don’t know why he is on it. If it is to protect Celtic’s best interests then tell us how this is the case. He is paid (handsomely) to protect Celtic’s best interest not to progress SFA agenda ( which lets face it have historically been anti Celtic ).
Peter and Co need to communicate better .. Otherwise we can never be sure.
Personally I would rather Lawwell invested his time working a ticket out of the Scottish League set up for Celtic.
Leave Scottish football to the Huns…
