Clear rule required on storms

Although I believe it was the rain which caused the cancellation of today’s game it was the storm which caused me most concern. Football should not be played when a storm strong enough to cause structural damage is expected. Any building can be affected by a storm. While there is a tiny chance that any football stadium will be damaged, the consequences of a roof part landing on a packed stand would be severe.

There should be a clear rule on this.

The Foundation Christmas Appeal bucket collection has been postponed for two weeks. This is a critical period for all of the agencies who were due to receive funds from this appeal, I know the Foundation are working with them in the interim period. Today’s attendance would probably have been low due to the conditions, so hopefully the delay will raise more money than we would have raised had today’s game gone ahead.

    Ha Ha Ha.. Brilliant!! Aye Archie Mc Pherson, (Aveladsie.. Konterman.. woooff… ), Drew Jarvie, Neil Kinnock et al..

     

    Tell you a true story, honest, 100%.. Quite a few years ago, I worked with a wonder man call Jack.. Lovely lovely man.. Bald as an egg! Looked like Perluigi Collina! Every morning a ll our guys met in the muster room before we started work and our first job. There was a Tea/Coffee Vending machine in the room that took 5’s, 10’s, 1’s and 2’s.

     

    Jack came in one morning with a full, I mean FULL, head of hair!.. Yep, a rug, a highland jig a full Beatle style wig, complete wi fringe.

     

    The place went silent!!! Not a word!!! Nothin!!! 50 guys stunned.. 5 minutes of awkward silence.

     

    Suddenly, the door bursts open, an one of the guys bursts in.. heads straight to the Vending machine.. makes his selection, then realising he’s short of change shouts out… “Anyboby got a 2 P”….

     

     

    Swear to God, its true.
