CONFIRMED: BARKAS ONE OF FOUR CHANGES

1

VASILIS BARKAS returns to goal for Celtic in their Betfred League Cup opener against Ross County at Parkhead today which has a 2pm kick-off.

The Greek goalkeeper replaces Scott Bain – as CQN reported earlier – after seven games on the sidelines and is one of four changes from the line-up that flopped 4-1 against Sparta Prague in the Europa League Group H encounter on Thursday.

Nir Bitton, Albian Ajeti and Tom Rogic, who came on for Scott Brown in the Czech Republic capital when the score was 2-1, are also given the nod by Neil Lennon to face the Highlanders.

The Celts have won the trophy for the past four years and are looking to book their place in this evening’s quarter-final draw. A victory over the Dingwall club would also be the Hoops’ 36th consecutive domestic Cup-tie win.

TEAM: Barkas; Elhamed, Jullien, Ajer, Laxalt; Bitton, Brown, Christie, Rogic; Ajeti, Edouard. Subs: Bain, Taylor, Duffy, Klimala, Ntcham, Elyounoussi, McGregor, Henderson and Ralston.
