Confusion as SFA appears lax on terms

1036

Is it really possible that Charles Green made a genuine oversight and believed that monies due to Rangers FC (IA) could be paid by a debtor to selective creditors in order to let his Newco gain access to the Scottish Football League?

Back in May, while Rangers FC (IA) were adamant they would continue in business, the SPL agreed to pay money due to the club directly to creditors.  The club subsequently failed to pay, or agree terms with, creditors and a creditor has asked BDO to liquidate them.  The lawyers have earned enough from this saga in recent months, they would be scrambling for Gratuitous Alienation cast studies if the SPL was to selectively pay football clubs.

It looks like Mr Green is tying himself in knots over the Newco/Oldco routine.  His attention to detail has the potential to become legendary, however, he is entitled to wonder why the SFA have allowed his Newco membership despite apparently not meeting agreed terms. I am sure the SFA president will be all over this issue like a rash, demanding clear and proper process is followed.

Or is the SFA president still the only man at Hampden who cannot participate in any of the important issues concerning Scottish football?

Aye…..the older I get and the more info/disinfo gets stuffed in the old rolodex of memory (I’m pre-digital vintage) and it gets tattered and battered by time the likelihood is that it all becomes a wee bit jumbled….like toys in the attic. And I keep seeing Nick Nolte in ‘Jefferson in Paris’ in my head mixed with cbs news in the sixties and their daily ‘kill count’ and I wonder if we have learned anything in our time on this planet and is it all being airbrushed by Hollywood anyway?

Nah, I think they’re trying to preserve as much of the oldco for revenue / bigotry purposes, and they are doomed to failure ……give it a couple of months, then buy shares in a sedative company…. They’re going down, slowly but surely ….clutching at straws at the moment

Did my graduate thesis on Catholic cosmology and its implications for church state relations, looking primarily at the pre-Vatican 1 and 2 periods, so along with Pio Nono, Garribaldi, Mazzini, etc., played a large part in that work. Just back in from court, and have to go out to another meeting shortly, but always happy to chat about that stuff. Love church history. Unless of course, you were taking the P, and I fell for it hook, line and sinker.

Arsenal bought Anelka, Overmars, Petit, Henry, Vieira, Fàbregas, RVP, Toure, Adebayor and Nasri for £42m & sold them for £206m. Profit.

Nice work if you can get it…

  7. The only way you will see Charlie Adam at Celtic Park is if he’s playing for the opposition, and I for one, thank the lord for that! 5million!!! Do me a favour.

It would be quite funny if RVP flopped big time at Man U.

It’s happened to quite a few strikers down the years.

mike, word of warning… beware football gifts.

my mate in aberdeen had posh comps a few years back at pitoddrie for a celtic game, and kindly offered me one, which i accepted.

we met in the pub prior to the game. i tried to pay him for it but he refused. eventually he accepted £20 to keep the peace. he nipped next door and stuck it on aberdeen at 12/1.

others may remember this as “the snowball game.” gubbed 2-0, and he wins 240 quid. i think it was the only game we lost that season.

    No I was being serious!

Being of Italian extraction (could you tell?) I’ve always been fascinated by Italian history. Not an expert on church history I’m afraid, but do know a bit about Garibaldi and Mazzini and their views on the church.

    Yes. 1860-61, 1866 and 1870.

The last one wasn’t a war as such, but it was the year that Italian troops occupied Rome and forced the Pope to retreat into the Vatican.

  15. Am I the only one who is already sick of the EPL even before it starts? Man U signing Van Persie- feck, even a club the size of Arsenal are being left behind…with the Manchester clubs continuing to dominate…then in a few seasons Man City will be untouchable every other seasons with their unlimited resources- is that what we want for football?

You’re right …. have to add music to the list of things I couldn’t live without, but discuss/learned about on CQN …

However, on the NY thing …. unpatriotic, I know, but, other than a few odd songs, never a great fan …. for that period, Bobby D is still the greatest …. but if I’m listening to music, mostly lots of the Trashcan Sinatras, Nat Cole, Coltrane, Miles …. Still think Billie Holliday is the greatest singer that ever lived (just edges out Caruso) ….

Really trying to start a fight on CQN with that last statement!

With the Dandy going bust that is the end of serious journalism in Scotland!

  21. “Portsmouth have been given special dispensation by the Football League to start the season on zero points despite being in administration.

Football League rules state that clubs who begin a season in administration start on -10 points.

But Pompey will now be penalised as and when they exit administration.

However, administrator Trevor Birch said he was hopeful of avoiding a points deduction altogether, once a takeover of the club was complete.

“I’m encouraged by the League’s decision to postpone any possible points deduction until it receives an application for membership by the Trust,” said Birch in a statement.

“At that stage, the application will be accompanied by a request for a review of the points deduction.” ”

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19286219

    ummm, why?

so i understand, they’re NOT being penalised BECAUSE they’re so continuously inept???

that’d be like our football authorities suggesting rangers(ia) should remain in the SPL or something!!!

seriously though, start the season in admin, 10 point deduction surely. where’s the incentive to come out of admin if it THEN means you get penalised?

    seriously, am i missing something?

“don’t go into the church ya stupid bassa” he shouts at the telly

“our wedding video” says the guy.

  23. no way Adam will happen nor would he come here.

Reminds me of Neil Redfern (?) who strolled about the midfield for years with Barnsley, Bradford and others. Always looked good on the ball. His team always got relegated. Adam went one step up and signed for Liverpool but it is a sad statement on Dalglish that he probably was not the biggest waste of money from the splurge.

NL in the main targets young fit players (possible eyeing resale) and this will continue for the forseaable.

I have said before our league game at the week-end will be no push over we appear to have some injury problems I hope Lennie puts out a young side if we dont win we have the full season in front of us to win the league. In my mind the Helsinbourg game is the biggie we need our strongest side if we are to progress into the Champions league proper we only have two games to qualify and Swedish sides are usually competent so no risks at the week-end would be my mantra.H.H.

The wars to unify Italy & their aftermath is one of my interests, much “aggravated” in the last few years: NOT a war of liberation for the South, but I’d be happy to discuss that.
