Delighted Joe Ledley got on the score sheet twice yesterday. As well as missing the influence of Wanyama, and Scott Brown on Champions League duty, Joe’s absence through injury has been felt. He has been back a few weeks now but Neil Lennon has used him sparingly, putting a lot of responsibility on the shoulders of Beram Kayal and Charlie Mulgrew. For me, Joe’s composure and running deserves place in the team.
Ross County have dropped like a stone recently, even when you consider their abandoned matches, but they successfully pressed high up the field for long periods of the game. When Celtic do this in Europe we are always concerned about opposing teams passing through us with speed. It was a bit concerning that we could not do the same to County.
The most pleasing aspect of the game was the performance of Emilio Izaguirre. Neil Lennon went on record in the summer to say he needed cover for left back, which is still the case, but at the time ‘cover’ was interpreted in places for an admission that Emilio’s form was not what it once was.
We are incredibly strong at right back, with internationals Adam Matthews and Mikel Lustig vying for the position, while Nigeria’s right back, Efe Ambrose, occupies a different position at Celtic, but Emilio has no obvious left-footed cover.
Following the loss of St John Doyle, George Ryan, Lennybhoy sent £1534.30 on your behalf to the Mini St John Doyle Fund, now officially launched as Sean’s Trust. George’s wife, Linda, responded with this message:
“George’s fantastic friends at Celtic Quick News have this evening donated £1,534.30 into the account for our charity Sean’s Trust. This money has been raised since George’s death on 5 October. Also they paid for 4 seats at Celtic Park for the family to attend the Ajax game, and sent beautiful floral tributes.
“Most of the supporters on CQN had never met George in person. Paul Brennan from CQN visited me after George’s death and he said ‘It takes a lifetime to make a Celtic Man like George’ What a beautiful tribute. We are grateful for the immense effort you have all made in memory of George. We will never forget you x.”
There are never any real compensations on occasions of such loss, but your efforts connected with, and supported, a family, at a time when that was as much as anyone could do for them.
Thank you to everyone who participated, especially Lennybhoy, for picking up the ball.

True story regarding one of the tour guides at paradise,
Brian guy with glasses and full beard (naw no Santa Claus before some wit steamrolls in) is a Celtic Shareholder, and I meet at most home game’s in Lounge No 1.
Brian is a first Class guide and tell’s a very true story regarding the Moderator of the Church of Scotland of which he is an Elder in his local Parish in South Lanarkshire.
The Moderator was visiting same parish one Sunday and all the Elders were lined up to meet him with Brian being kind of relegated to the back of the line, and on seeing this one of the other Elders said oh this is Brian our Celtic Supporting member, to which the Moderator made a bee line to talk to him, as he was also a Tim , much to the amazement of his fellow bretheran
Brian tell’s this story with great gusto.
Auldheid,
Why not prove it weeks ago ?

May God bless and protect your family.
Oglach @ 20.47hrs,
Agree, as stated previously should be an individual choice to wear a Poppy. If James Mclean does not want to wear a Poppy totally understandable. Big deal. Poppy fascism does the cause a dis-service.
MON and Roy Keane do not seem to share that view. ( In public anyway ) .
HH, Always in Celtic.
PS : To reiterate what you have said, it seems contrary to previous posts he was not sent home for refusing to wear a Poppy.
Night all

Naw, it’s a Hun in the next street.
It is a quite day on here, I came on for a lurk earlier and won a podium, wasn’t logged on.
It’s easy when you know how;-)
Quiet day not a quite day.
couple of observations I need to make
if you wish to respect those that died in WW1, 2 or any other conflict that is your choice and how you show respect is also your choice. same applies if you do not wish to. p.s. there is a difference between remembrance and triumphalism and sober thought and partying like its 1999.
people proclaiming themselves celtic supporters while activity encouraging their children to support other team such as man u etc…, is something I cant understand. please spare me the excuse that its due to corruption in Scottish football, long before the demise of ranger, celtic had to fight for everything, making every success all the sweeter.
Some of my greatest memories are supporting the hoops with my family, the first thing a new born gets in my family is a celtic strip and we all go out with a celtic tie or scarf. if your truly a celtic support ask yourself why? what is it that brought you here? how do celtic make you feel? do you love celtic? if so why deprive your children of that same love? ethos? value?
HH, forever and ever.

Bhoys and Ghirls ,
Just a wee personal post that i wanted to share – because I’m smiling as I type it.
I’ve had my (and my family’s) own celebration ceremony this weekend . My great aunt Sr Celine has just ‘celebrated’ the 70th anniversary of her Final Profession of vows as a Little Sister of the Poor.
Celine is now 93 and still works at St Joseph’s in Edinburgh although she claims she is now semi-retired ! She has had a remarkable life , leaving Dumbarton at 16 and travelling to France at 18 to take her vows . She was interred by the Germans in 1939 and eventually completed her vows in 1943 . Since then she’s spent the intervening 70 years looking after people in Brighton , Leeds and Edinburgh.
We had a lovely day yesterday , celebrating mass and then had a family lunch followed by watching a dvd of a residents concert . Not much you may think , but it represented the most ‘me’ team she had been afforded or taken in the previous 20 years (since her golden anniversary ).
We had 4 generations of the family and everyone was uplifted by it. I hope and pray that Celine enjoys her retirement – she is a wonderful woman who is compassionate and understanding , never judges others (not her job , she says) and how expresses her opinion and regards the matter dealt with. A lot of traits i would love to possess.
So , Sr Celine , I raise a glass to you tonight . Your faith , humanity and compassion are an inspiration to me and our family. God bless.
Sanna
