CROCKED CALMAC’S QATAR CHALLENGE

0

CROCKED Callum McGregor has been included in the Scotland international squad for the World Cup double-header against Israel and the Faroe Islands next month.

The Celtic captain has missed the Hoops’ last four games with a hamstring injury and has little chance of facing Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League Group G encounter at Parkhead on Thursday night.

Steve Clarke, though, has gambled on the midfielder’s fitness for the home tie against the Israelis, who could have Liel Abada and Nir Bitton in their pool, a week on Saturday and the Faroes three days later.

DUTCH TREAT…David Turnbull in action for Scotland against the Netherlands in June.

Hoops team-mate David Turnbull is also included, but injured pair James Forrest and Greg Taylor are sidelined.

The Scots are coming off the back of an impressive 1-0 victory over Austria in Vienna as they push for a place in the summer’s Finals in Qatar.
