Dangers of a league without whipping boys

792

At 1:45 yesterday afternoon the prospects of Celtic stretching their lead at the top of the table by the end of the day appeared slight.  The tide has turned in Celtic’s favour in recent weeks but leagues are hard to win and we need only think back to how many chances St Mirren peppered Fraser Forster’s goal with to appreciate the difference between winning games and dropping points.

Teams in the SPL are well organised, even eighth place St Mirren, who are on a run of poor form but apart from a couple of lapses defended well, created more chances than Celtic and played with adventure and confidence.

Celtic are the best team in the league but there will not be a single game before the end of the season in which they will be able to take anything for granted.  The result from yesterday we should pay most attention to is bottom of the league Dunfermline’s 0-3 win at Kilmarnock.  This is a league without whipping boys.

Kojo can stick up for himself, but his dislike of SB isn’t ‘pathological’. He says it as he sees it. SB is a very poor passer of a ball. I don’t think there is any disputing of that.

I agree with him, but as I said on here after last week’s game v Dundee Utd, he brings other attributes into our midfield. And that is the reason I would start him every time.

Kojo is not in the minority with regards to Celtic fans who would rather not have him in the team.

It’s only on days like Saturday you can see his worth to the team. Add to that the comments from Izzaguire about him in today’s paper and you can see what Lenny loves about him.

I disagree…I think Kojo and yerself are NOT the majority regarding Scott Brown..

A vocal minority maybe. When SB scored on Sat I posted and asked Kojo to comment. NOTHING on that thread then today he’s at it again…It’s just getting tiresome.

    Read my post again.

    I don’t agree with Kojo.

But he is allowed his opinion like everyone else on here.

You need to sit with me in the NS sometime if you don’t believe that he’s in the majority with regards to his opinion of SB.

His detractors will almost always point out his passing abilites whilst ignoring the other qualities he brings.

  4. Does anyone know if there’s any kind of there any kind of restriction to the screening of “honest mistakes” just after they happen (instant replay) on CPs big screens during home games?

I’d dearly love to see MIBs indiscretions exposed & laid bare in almost real time.

  5. Bunbury..

Have taken a bit of a sabbatical from the blog recently due to work and just generally wanting a break from the dirge that some on here type..he guys who just love the sound of their own keyboard clicking..you know the type..

With the amount of garbage that the poster you are referring to has posted on here over the years in his various guises its simple..ignore.I have and I feel better for it.

The club and various players on here will never win..many dont rate Brown and many would have hunted McGeady out the club and indeed GS too(and some of the revisionism earlier in the season from the self same posters was staggering..or expected depending on how you view it)..

All Im saying is that at times its healthier to scroll by and just not upset yourself by reading or trying to fathom out the nonsense..

    Live time video feedback

Been doing it in professional basketball for 40 years.

Basketball is just as quick and just as contentious.

5 or 7 adjudicators come to a consensus on the video within 10 seconds and relay to ref(s).

Less time than it take Howard Webb to second guess himself and pose for the cameras.

The real reason that video has not been implemented in football is because of FIFA.

FIFA reserve the right to nobble refs to make pro decisions on host countries in World Cups.

Like they did in Korea Japan upcoming in Qatar. ok South Africa failed because of

the guile of those streetwise Uruguayans.See come to think of it that backfired.

Cheating hacking scum like Uruguay wouldnt do to well in World cups if we had video.(or Italy in 2006)

They’re not allowed to show any replays other than goals, I believe.

Read your post again.Especially the part where you wrote,”I agree with him.”

We all have a right to our opinions but when our Captain sets up one goal (with a rather nice pass) and a trademark screamer and certain egos just can’t bring it to themselves to say well done then it kinda grates on me.

    That’s all.

Yes, I do agree with him! Anyone who says SB is a good passer of a ball is delusional.

If you read Kojo’s posts about him, this is the problem he has with SB.

But, as I repeat again, he brings a lot of other attributes to our team that more than merits his inclusion.

Again, going back to your original post, Kojo does not show a ‘patholigical’ dislike for SB. He shows a logical dislike for him.

Not sure just guessin that our hun interloper is hoping that the right combination of characters when you click on the random sites that they header causes a database buffer overflow and brings down CQN. However, this only works for windoze as far as I know and I believe Paul67 and crew use Linux..awe bejeezuz Ah just gave him a clue…

  19. Yeah that was bad.

Moving swiftly on, had a look at the papers online and not much in the way of transfer speculation. Can’t even see that Rangers are about to swoop for anyone. Haven’t looked at the Record though.

  23. Good morning to all from MK.

Saturday’s win was important both for maintaining the momentum but perhaps more importantly from the perspective that the manager’s choice and timing of subs was instrumental in the win.

The lateral movement of the ball through midfield is a concern though as was Joe Ledley’s performance, it was as poor a performance as I’ve seen him give and it struck me that he was no a happy chappy about the role he was given.

Nonetheless, winning ugly at this time of year is one of the foundations for winning the SPL this year.

    Upwards and onwards.
