Celtic arrive in Prague tomorrow for a game many of us consider a dead rubber. The thumping Sparta inflected at Celtic Park still smarts and almost certainly ended the competitive element of our Europa League campaign. The most we can hope for is a cohesive performance and an injury and illness free trip. A defeat, even a heavy defeat, will not resonate as much as the draw at Easter Road.
For me, the pace quickens at the weekend, when your clean sheet domestic record goes on the line for the 36th consecutive time. We can only hope the week will be used productively.

Well when the games were postponed we were counting that as six points.
We have enough to beat Aberdeen at home – no doubts – but the fact is if Aberdeen win that game they will be one point behind them.
Not coming third is our reality at the moment, that is where the form is. We never got close to beaten the Ibrox Club and that was at Parkhead.
So the point you make is not only moot, it doesn’t bear real scrutiny. Rangers are where they are on merit, their European games are testament to that, their result against Aberdeen reinforces it.
The only way we get back in this race is improve greatly and beat Rangers in every remaining old firm game. We need to start now…

Yes, that is a fair point. I would hope JK and GS are working on shape daily in training. The support are in a frenzy at the moment and i’m guilty as much as any fan. There are legitimate concerns from what we see on the pitch. The coaches and manager need to step up now and the players need to respond positively. Hopefully 15/15 points in December and NL gets his tactics right on Jan 2nd to at least avoid defeat. Reading that Ryan Porteous interview on Jack Ross H/T team talk last Saturday really bugged me. Teams see Celtic as fragile and know their weaknesses. Its too easy for the opposition at the moment. Hibs changed their whole game plan last weekend and should have probably got the 3 points. Tactics, shape and player buy in must start this Thursday.

just for clarity RON…..I havent had a Drink since Oct 9th when the Pubs closed at 6pm. I do NOT ( unlike some on here), drink in the Hoose. So I have been perfectly sober since mid October.
On the other hand…that Packy Chump gets drunk in the hoose with 4 Cans cos his wife doesnt let him go out to any pubs etc…and hes just Hen Pecked…pure and simple.

I’m not disputing that we’ve been well below the level we expect from the group of players we have. A blind man could see that, but my moot point is also a fact. Indisputable.
Can anyone say with any certainty that the league is gone ? That this group of players, despite what they’ve given us this far, are incapable of turning it round ? And yet so many here, and elsewhere, have chucked it.
I also believe that we should be doing all we can to win on Thursday in Prague. That door isn’t closed. Yet. If we go with the attitude that it’s a dead rubber, what does that say about our ambition ? Success breeds success, and a winning run, and return of confidence can begin on Thursday.

When I penned my diatribe on Sunday it was as much for myself as the blog, I was trying tae figure out how we have so spectacularly collapsed.

This current situation has me conflicted, as I pointed out on Sunday it was deidco who saved us from doing a Belfast Celtic and that was purely down tae money.

Apart from a chance to play a back four of Elhamed,Ajer,Jullien,Laxsalt,in defence,Eddy and Griff up front,this game on Thursday is a non event.No matter how much some are outraged by the thought.A performance to boost morale would be most welcome,and our away performances have been unarguably better than home form.

The only team to benefit from Covid situation so far this season is Rangers – playing a weakened Celtic and Aberdeen team.
The referees are creating safe passage – See the number of penalties they get and the number of yellows against them (early in the game). Contrasted to Celtic where opposition players can cripple Frimpong, Forrest and consistently barge our strikers without foul.
Then there’s our manager – Starts with one striker against SCOTTISH teams and usually reacts with 10mins to go after we lose a stupid goal. He knows our defense is rank , so why not out score our opponents instead of inviting them up the pitch – note, we are talking about Scottish defenses here!!
Then there is still our manager – Plays Frimpong as a right back when a) his strength is in attack and b) his weakness is his defending and c) we have an international right back on the books. Bitton is a better midfielder than. brown right now , yet he plays center back. I’d also like to see Luca, Soro and Turnbull in the team than Ntcham and Rogic – two of the laziest players in the league (celtic player and the word lazy should never be permitted)
Then there’s the players – At least Duffy tries his heart out – I’d take that over some players who right now who have chucked it!
If I was the celtic manager – I’d haul off any player after 10minutes who failed to perform the basic competency of any PROFESSIONAL footballer – work for the team/chase back/ make yourself available.
Lennon is the soft one – Ntcham should be playing for the colts, Eduard in the stand, Julien in the stand until his dummy is found and Moi dropped until he impacts football matches like he should.
Lennon picks these lazy , soft players lacking attitude – Its his issue and he isn’t fixing it.
Then there’s the board – they see what we see, they hear our concerns – they’ve had sufficient indicators to act – but our board NEVER speculates to accumulate (see deplorable European record)
This is why the league is over!!
