Dedryck after his MVP performance and Craig

1282

Appropriate appreciation is due to Dedryk Boyata for his MVP performance on Wednesday. He scored the goal that won the points, could have scored more and made the most impressive defensive intervention of the game.

If scouts were in the Celtic Park stand watching, he did all he could to entice an offer, but a sample size of one game is not enough to validate a change in form for me.

Brendan has a big selection decision to make for Hearts on Sunday. You could argue he’s got the best from Patrick Roberts by bringing him on as a substitute in Celtic’s last four games, the most recent three of which the player considerably lifted the Celtic performance. Patrick will be wondering what he needs to do to get a start.

Chelsea want to sign Craig Gordon? No surprise there, they did sign Magnus Hedman a year after he left Celtic, after all. Craig is playing well and a reliable cog in an effective defensive wheel. But you know me. This far off the qualifiers, it’s all about the price as far as I’m concerned.

Everyone has a price, to think otherwise is to deny the future exists.

Match the fine for Palestine. £176,000 raised by the Green Brigade will be handed over tomorrow on the Celtic Way at 12.00. A truly remarkable achievement.

  6. Hi Ghuys.. Just a reminder..

“At the Champions League match with Hapoel Beer Sheva on 17 August 2016, the Green Brigade and fans throughout Celtic Park flew the flag for Palestine. This act of solidarity has earned Celtic respect and acclaim throughout the world. It has also attracted a disciplinary charge from UEFA, which deems the Palestinian flag to be an ‘illicit banner’.

In response to this petty and politically partisan act by European football’s governing body we are determined to make a positive contribution to the game and today launch a campaign to #matchthefineforpalestine. We aim to raise £15,000* which will be split 50/50 between Medical Aid Palestine (MAP) and to the Lajee Centre, a Palestinian creative cultural children’s centre in Aida Refugee Camp, Bethlehem”.

We all know that we, the Celtic Supporters, raised 10 times this amount.

The presentation of the cheque, along with some guest speakers, will be made on Sunday at 12.00 before the game with Hearts on the Celtic Way.

Come along, hear the story and be part of the celebration that makes us so different from any Supporters in the World.

    See You All There.

    Hai Hail..

    Evening All.

The hospice in Clydebank is a fantastic place. My grandfather, who was born in Ballymote but raised in Ramelton, contributed to its building at the outset.

It was in the hospice that my dear old dad spent his last days. Another victim of the dreaded asbestos from Clydebank and there are thousands of them.

He was born 8 miles out of Letterkenny and as a family we used to love going over and I did all that I could to go and live there in the 80’s but it was not to be. I love Donegal but don’t go nearly often enough and always vow to get over more often.

The Lisbon list is being updated as we go and Phylis, WITS and others have been added.

Re the funeral song — well, my father lived life to the full and so having had the mass and gone to the crematorium we had a blast of Panis Angelicus as he loved to sing that but when it came to “going” it has to be this song as it summed up his life, personality and his general attitude — besides he was friendly with Makem and the Clancys.

  11. I escaped from the other gulag in the west of the staffed by the notorious Christian Brothers of the St Mary’s variety but judging by your moniker we probably were going to watch the Ville at the same time. Closest rush to a Celtic victory was the ’79 final.

As for the debate about EPL teams, if they were playing in the back garden I wouldn’t open the curtains. Celtic first, last……..

O G, I was at two Everton games in 1985 and met an Evertonian while on holiday in Portugal six years later.

The racist abuse from some Everton fans was the worst I’ve heard and was repeated by an Evertonian who was staying in the same apartments as us when in Praia D’Oura (spelling) in 1991

The guy we had the misfortune to endure on holiday was a vile , racist , masonic and orange horror. He hated Liverpool , not for football reasons but because they had 4 black players playing for them.
