Defence need to play-up for their keeper

812

First the treble then the double slipped through the net leaving Celtic absolute certainties for the inaugural Scottish Premiership title, but with only a couple of higher aspirations to aim for.  Fraser Forster is closing in on Bobby Clark’s Aberdeen league shut out record, which if he keeps a clean sheet at home to St Johnstone on Sunday, he would be able to eclipse 31 minutes into the visit to Tynecastle on 22 February.

Neil Lennon called Saturday’s defeat unacceptable but it would be just as unacceptable to concede to St Johnstone at home this weekend when so close to an all-time record.    Saints have scored only one league goal away from home (at Firhill) since winning at Tynecastle on 2 November last year.  Notwithstanding their four Cup goals at Forfar on Saturday, you could not wish for a more goal-shy league visitors.

The manager was rightly critical of his defence on Saturday so will hopefully use this weekend to ensure they are ready to play up for their goalkeeper this Sunday.

One of the highlights for the Celtic community last year was the incredible Ben Nevis Huddle, completed on the snow-capped mountain in June. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, 28 June. Applications opened on Friday and there are only 77 places left (big mountain but limited safe standing capacity). Go here if you want to get involved.

I didn’t see anything of the game on Sat. Saw the team in paper yesterday but not read any reports.

Did we go with Sammy and James loitering g on the wings again and get swamped in the midfield or was it just a bad day at the office e?

Was a bad day at the office. with regards of James Forrest, I thought he was our strongest performer on the day. Others may disagree ofcourse.

It’s for you to prove your point mate and convince others of the truth of what you posted, to simply say “did he ever speak out about it, if so can you point me in the right direction” isn’t enough. You made out he was a willing participant in sectarianism, I’m asking you to provide the proof of this, on your basis everyone who worked in the yards was guilty of it, which is just rediculous to be honest.

My brother in law is a Rangers fan, at one time he went to every game, home and away and yet he is regarded as one of the most decent men ever to have graced the face of this earth. There isn’t one bigoted bone in his body, yet you would have us believe that as he attended games at Ibroke he is somewhat tarred with a sectarian brush, this is utter nonsense mate.

So what if Jimmy Reid attended Ibroke to support his team, contrary to what you imply this doesn’t make him in any way a bigot. As plenty others on this site have posted previously, there are decent Rangers fans out there, while I would agree that the majority of the ones we come across are of the unsavourly kind there are also some decent ones that we all know.

I will actually go and research the Jimmy Reid history and see if he ever did speak publicly about this issue, if I do find anything I’ll get back to you with the links, meanwhile can you show us your evidense to support your belief.

Felt sorry for Johanson on Saturday. The previous week I counted three occasions when he played balls over the top for the strikers to run on to; on each of these occasions Kris Commons gave him pelters indicating that he wanted the ball played in to feet.

On Saturday I noticed twice when Griffiths had come on that Johanson played the ball in to feet and then had LG giving him abuse because he wanted the ball played over the top to run on to.

As a footballer Griffiths is going to give us an extra dimension; a striker who likes the ball played in front of him.

Maybe it is a good thing that we are no longer involved in that cup competition.

What happens to our magnificent stadium though,if the sheep and zombies meet in the semi -final?

30,000 rabid sheep plus 30,000 slack-jawed, knuckle dragging zombies, running amok at the arena.

Who’s going to pay for any damage inflicted by the zombies in particular?

That shower of sh@te wouldn’t /couldn’t pay for two cups of tea, never mind pay for thousands of damaged seats.

Hopefully they are dead by then.

I would ban them full stop, or charge their neanderthal followers twice the normal price of a ticket.

That should cover any damages that may occur.

Jude2005, you referred to JMcC at Hamilton, not as a youth with us, hence the response was in relation to that point, the start of our new signing strategy ? Go foreign and sell on for profit ? Would we have got £5m for young James ?

I can’t forget that radio broacast, probably on the BBC sports programme of the day as he was describing exactly what I was doing, taking my son across the country to see my team and he made it out like it was a dirty act.

I think the song he used in his denegration of us was the hymn Hail Glorious St Patrick because I’m almost sure he said something along the lines of “they sing of Erin’s Green valleys but have never seen them” or similar.

all peaceful and idyllic, and very bloody green!

“When Irish Eyes are Smiling” and “The Mountains of Mourne”

In a central Celtic chich, the man has left no stone unturned

‘Til he embarks upon the harp that once through terraced halls

Accompanying himself on the Bodhrn, which takes a lot of courage

and cleared the pub completely by the forty-second verse!

‘Cause he’s just a Plastic Paddy, singin’ Plastic Paddy songs
