Disproportionate load ahead of Tannadice cup tie

234

Dundee United lost their first game back after the winter break; the seven games since have seen them lose only once, and that was to the last gasp Liel Abada winner at Celtic Park.  The defensive qualities they showed that day have been evidenced since, as they have not conceded in the four games that followed.

There is a lot of football to be played in the three weeks before we face them at Tannadice in the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup, Celtic have at least six games, United have a maximum of four, a heavy load for the visitors.  If Celtic overcome Bodo/Glimt in the conference league, they will have a last 16 tie on the Thursday before visiting Tannadice on the Sunday.

Despite our comfortable win there earlier in the season, the disproportionate load facing the teams, will make this a difficult cup tie.

Maloney is a couple of results, away from getting his Harry Potters…….

    —–

I recall an almost identical post, then the subject was Stephen Glass. That didn’t seem implausible at the time and of course was spot-on, but the Maloney one seems a bit premature…..still your track-record is sound, so I’m not discounting.

You twist what I’m saying into different timescales to suit what your trying to say.

MON told “us” what the custodians were going to be like when, MON, as a Celtic manager goes out of his way to warn “us” about what the Lawwell era was going to be like, when MON said…..

“In terms of European aspirations, Celtic supporters had better be prepared for recruitment from the slow lane.”

    Talking of twisting??

You put words in quotation marks that MON never said. You can say that you are paraphrasing but you are actually twisting the words that MON used and you are doing it deliberately. But MON is not one of your many monikors, he is a real person and his words are on record.

For any that are new to CQN, Kev J has told his story over the years

He is in favour of MON, Brian Dempsey, Gerry McNee, Mark McGhee, Lou Macari, Murdo McLeod, Walter Smith tactics and chasing wee boys around Hampden in the 1980 final.

He is no res 12 rebel- he had already quit attending before Res 12 or the events of 2012 occurred. Kev started his personal boycott, or at least claimed to, when MON left and we stopped buying big EPL players. He is no socialist rebel ( I mean just look at his “socialist” reference points- GB news, the Daily Mail and some even more rabid tin foil right wing commentators); he is a “speculate to accumulate” guy pure and simple (well, maybe one of those) .

The anger about not boycotting after 2012 is pure McNee tosh. Kev was boycotting before it happened. He was slagging the res 12 guys without any clear understanding of what was in the resolution. He just wanted Celtic to buy more expensive players – not a very socialist position- but it’s where Kev’s rebellion begins and ends.

He wasn’t much into politics in the early days, not even at Referendum time. That, and the Galloway worship are just new additions to a constantly changing set of allegiances but all are underlined with the common trope that he knows best and youse are all eejits.

Politically, Kev is UKIP fodder, and is getting drawn to ever more dangerous right wing resentments. I hope he gets better before he goes postal but I have to say, his trolling on Sentinel Celts has been even worse, in tone not in frequency, than on here.

If there’s decency left in him, and I hope there is, I would like to see him seek help before he disappears further down the Kev Anon wormhole he feels trapped in.

But CQN will not succumb to any white nationalist propaganda.

I can’t quantify what is going through your mind about “Kev” and as he doesn’t seem to post on here anymore you really need to learn to let things go and move on, just like Celtic PLC did, and 53,000 season ticket holders did as well whilst your hung up on this “Kev”, get a grip or you’ll end up unwell like lots of others who seem to share the same mindset as you, probably because they don’t have one of their own?? An agenda that burned wee nippy’s lying corrupt face when Sky News Trevor Phillips asked nippy face about her own white privilege, and her MP’s white privilege, and why she would pursue such a questionnaire, nippy face tried to wriggle her way out of the real questions, from a real journalist, not like the like minded ones in Scotland, in the same week, BBC advertised for new recruits and no white people need apply?? same week also NHS, Birmingham I think?? Or is it the case that Celtic PLC knew that they could fanny about because they knew that since 1994 there has been no rebellious force amongst the Celtic supporter base that the PLC would have to worry about??

  20. Rangers contacted Celtic and said they would be happy to supply tickets for the upcoming Ibrox game and asked if Celtic would agree to let Rangers fans into the last league derby of the season. Celtic agreed. Why in the name of Christ wouldn’t they?

City scored an early goal at Sporting. It was flagged offside and the referee duly awarded the free-kick. As expected, a VAR check began.

It took 70 seconds, during which the two commentators arrogantly mocked the system with the usual “This is ridiculous” and “Why is it taking so long?”

VAR awarded the goal and the replay showed it was indeed onside. It was very close but the match officials got it wrong. That is precisely why it took so long. VAR did its job.

Oh and the two commentators were very happy that it did its job. Who cares how long it takes?

PS. 30 minutes and City 3-0 up. They’re on a different level.
