Done in the name of Celtic fans

Saturday’s victory is unlikely to feature in the season’s highlights DVD but it was our ninth consecutive domestic win and despite a few shaky moments at the back we’ve conceded only twice during that run.  That compares to only three clean sheets in our nine previous domestic games.

Despite selecting from the same personnel, Celtic have a vastly improved defensive unit; comparable to last season’s record breakers.

Europe is different. We conceded home and away to Salzburg and Astra, keeping a clean-sheet only at home to Thursday’s opponents, Dinamo Zagreb.

Done in the name of Celtic fans yesterday:

Did you read that the Celtic Foundation hosted 120 people who use the services of the Glasgow Simon Community yesterday?  The Community have assisted the homeless for over 40 years.  Community chief exec, Lorraine McGrath, said, “Too many people still find themselves without a home; more than 6500 people registered as homeless in Glasgow last year alone.”

You can get involved with the Foundation’s work this Christmas by coming to the game a little early on Sunday and shaking a collection bucket.  As well as the Simon Community, the Foundation aim to help Glasgow East Women’s Aid, Spirit Aid, Loaves and Fishes, The Wayside Club, Glasgow City Mission, the Scottish Refugee Council, The Invisibles and Yorkhill Children’s Charity.

That’s an incredible amount of work to carry out in your name over the coming weeks.  You can sign up to help with the bucket collection here.  You’ll enjoy it.

The CQN Annual is coming off the presses this week.  It’s a full colour Celtic extravaganza.  Order yours HERE now in time for Christmas!

  1. Police extend FFin’ probe into [Sevco] saga as Charles Green’s buy-out of Ibrox club comes under the spotlight:

“There were rumours posted on here a few weeks ago that Green was already pulling an ‘Ernest Saunders’ ”

    ——

“see at the end of the day whilst these scum hopefully rot in jail . it will never take away what they were allowed to do and they were allowed . we need to get every single one from the HMRC to the SFA”

    ——

“This will take a long time to unravel, hopefully the HMRC one leads right back to [Celtic]”

    ——

“And every penny they took from us is returned under the proceeds of crime act.”

    ——

“When will our governing body make a statement about this? Or are they too embarrassed at their treatment of us?”

    ——

“Indeed, the role of the SFA and SPL needs to be fully investigated and publicised as they reinforced the corruption perpetrated by the succession of ‘money men’ plundering the club.”

    ——

“This surely must give them warrant to gain access to the current books and see exactly what Green’s legacy has done to the club?”

    ——

“it is to the great credit of Rangers fans that not one of these lying, duplicitous [fellows] has had his teeth rearranged”

    ——

“Now all we need is evidence that HMRC were prompted to investigate us by a top Labour Party minister with Celtic connections.”

    ——

“You have just got to pray that there is a dour straight laced Presbyterian Blue Nose with the work ethic of an Asian shopkeeper at the head of this investigation.”

    ——

“Totally agree it must be investigated why the SFA were allowed to proceed with out evidence that would have held up in a court of law.”

    ——

“I do wonder why there is not much more noise being made about the SFA’s part in this. They allowed a bunch of crooks to take over Rangers then proceeded to pummel us for things going wrong.

The SFA, like the people who took over the club and members since, have severely let Rangers down and caused a mass portion of the problems we are going through.

The SFA are a big part of the blame.”

    ——

“Is it just a coincidences these people are called Green and Whyte?”

    ——

“We must find out who was behind it, what were their motives, who has benefitted financially and in other ways – and is their any link to our local enemies.”

    ——

“Surely if the initial transfer of the club to greens company is viewed

as illegal , the club could be transferred back to the old plc

leaving all the Wigs with shares in nothing .”

    ——

“I know it could be very difficult to prove but if it all leads back to Reid whilst he was involved at [Celtic] fc along with [Lawwell] and members of the sfa what could the possible repercussions be for that… fooball club and corrupt sfa”

    ——

“Someone somewhere must know something though

    2 plus 2 sometimes does make 4”

    ——

“If it was purely money I doubt we wouldve see some of the coincidences we have.

Thats how I’ve always felt about this too.

Assuming that the first person involved on the scene was just coincidentally named ‘Whyte’.

What are the chances, out of all the surnames in just Britain alone, that the next person… would be named ‘Green’ ?

Whyte’s only player in (whilst he was flogging of Jelavic) was … Celik… if we can find that one strand of CFC-related virus in this shebang.”

    ——

“Because maybe just maybe the whole ‘plan’ was to nail [the Huns] to the floor!!

You know that statement that seems to have disappeared under the right to be forgotten.

Thats the one thought I can’t shake through all this that the b*st*rd was planted.”

I was past Ibrox during the summer. It always had that sinister look about it, but with the lack of upkeep and a general run down feeling about the whole surrounding area, it’s got even more creepy. Someone should tell Stephen King – there’s a novel there for a talented horror writer…..

For those getting excited about tomorrow, it’s just a report from the liquidators on the current situation as regards how much money will be in the pot to pay the p in the pound at the end of the day.

They will not be liquidated tomorrow, the final day is a long way off, there are many things to come out and work to be done, this was seen as a 5 year timescale from day one, I don’t see that this has changed.

I was going to say that there are two schools of thought on Murray amongst the Huns but the idea that there is anything approaching thought among them is plainly ridiculous.

Some of them do blame him but they tend to be shouted down by the majority who appear to go for the “duped” theory. They’re not comfortable with the idea of blaming him because it doesn’t sit well with their conspiracy theories. He was forced to sell the club because of the big tax case which, as we know, was brought without foundation and was motivated by malice.

  9. I am with the Follow followers on this one.

I blieve the SFA is jammed full of Celtic loving blazers, the establishment is ingrained from head to two in Irish Republicanism and love of anything Green & Whyte, Westminster ahs tried to kill Rangers via HMRC and Peter Lawell owns the lot of them on behalf of the Pope whom awarded him power of Attorney over all affairs relating to destroying The Rangers.

I know it is very, very, very funny but it is a tad worrying that they have twisted this all in their twisty minds to such an extent that I fear they cannot handle what is around the corner for their franchise.

The next time that the mammaries point towards the sky down Ibrox way will likely spark some people into going all “Falling Down-ey”.

Don’t be so sanctimonious – the referendum and the attempt to bankrupt our country by a bunch of one-issue SNATS, was dirty. Even now, after getting beat, they continue to ‘stamp their feet’ and attempt to ‘pull all the furniture down’

I will do all in my power to remind people that only Labour has ever helped the poorest in society and, flawed as they are, Labour are our best bet for the future.

An Tearmann is the archetypal SNAT apologist – mud-slinging, Labour-hating and full of Wings Over Scotland cliches. There is no offer of constructive proposals, just casting-up problems and failures that dog every country in the developed world and blaming them on Labour – no constructive proposals because they don’t have any – their whole movement is based on grievance. They have NEVER done anything for Scotland.

There was a Global Meltdown when Labour was in power. We were subject to Global forces and in some sense had to make things up as we went along. Up till 2008 we had made great strides in upgrading our schools, investing unprecedented sums in the NHS, introducing Tax Credits, Minimum Wage and £250 Winter Fuel Allowance for our most needy and introduced many other positive and progressive policies.

The SNP have embraced Irish hatred (in conjunction with the Church of Scotland), Nazi sympathies in addition to their long-standing loathing of all things English, in their eighty odd years of existence – any one of our ‘kind’ who supports them ‘needs their heid looked’

and he had none. Never heard of it in my puff….so be warmed.

  29. BURNLEY star Danny Ings is a shock target for Mike Ashley — but as a marquee signing for RANGERS.

England Under-21 striker Ings is going to be among the hottest properties on the market when his contract runs out at the end of the season.

He has bagged four Premier League goals in an injury-hit campaign — after netting 26 in Clarets’ promotion season.

But one of the leading contenders for his signature will be the Scottish giants — if they make it back to the top flight.

Ashley, who has a significant share in the Gers, and sidekick Derek Llambias are big fans of the prolific striker and would pay him a record wage to take him over the border.

Ings would get around £40,000 a week in Glasgow if Ashley wins the signing chase, wages that would dwarf what he is paid at Turf Moor.

The key point is that Rangers have an advantage over interested English clubs such as Ashley’s Newcastle, Tottenham and Southampton because the fee would be tiny.

A move outside England would see Burnley picking up a small training compensation figure, making him attractive to Rangers.

If Ings, 22, stays in the Premier League the price would be fixed by a tribunal and possibly set as high as £5million for one of England’s best young players.

Shrewd Ashley knows Ings would have a great resale value if he moved back to the Premier League down the line and he would pay for himself if he agrees to a season or more in Scotland.

Cynics might even suggest he could be parked at Rangers and loaned or sold cheap to Newcastle at some stage of his career
