Don’t ask question you don’t know the answer to

‘Don’t ask question you don’t know the answer to’; great advice.  Mike Ashley will know the questions he’s proposed for Rangers International.  All the bluster around the company failing to get a Nomad due to the litany of complaints submitted to AIM under the old regime will be laid bare.  Allegations of blame made in haste will be revisited in detail.  It was an act of outrageous folly to attempt to play poker with a billionaire.

It is perfectly possible that Ashley will get his £5m loan repaid, the assets connected to it are so enormous, we should assume the money will be found.  I hope it is.  I hope the new regime gain all of their assets back from Ashley as soon as possible.

Ashley is one of the last men I would want owning my football club, but he is vastly more capable than those currently in notional charge.

The Machiavellian method – get the board to vote to return your money, or watch them vote to keep you on-side, is a thing of beauty.

Good luck to King, I hope he has the money and wins as much control as he needs.

Many are mightily miffed that Rube are in the final.Currently streets ahead of the opposition in Italy and very likely to kick on from here.

Honest Mistakes – absolutely but relatively few this season ( no real necessity..) Many think they also enjoy the luck of the devil – many predicted they would get Monaco / many predicted they would get an out of form Real..Many think that Barca should hump Rube but fear that Rube might just do it.

I used to go into the Celtic shops as a teenager and get frustrated at the lack of Celtic knowledge and even enthusiasm from most of the staff not only for Celtic but for the products. It’s a sales job. I have never been in sales in my life but I could sell Celtic to anyone who was not anti Celtic.

I sent a letter about this to Celtic at the time and got a standard response.

My letter was around enthusiasm for the club and the fans. Some fans go up to the park just to be around and chew the fat with like minded punters. The shop is the easiest place to do that. I used to be in and around the ground at least twice a week when I ran the CSC. Some of the ticket staff back then were sound and would chat away and the shop had improved but I sometimes think the club are missing a trick there. I think it is a culture. You get the FT staff in and say I don;t care who you support or how you feel when you wake up everyday but when you come in here you live and breathe Celtic and when the punters walk through the door you make them feel special. We have on our website and apparal that Celtic is more than just a club and when people walk into our stores, turnstiles, museum, restaurants, etc they have to feel it is more than just a club. I am not criticising it’s more a polishing up act. I know we use contract staff on matchdays and soetimes at bigger events but I am talking abut the core staff here. The ones employed direct by the club.

I also gave a suggestion regarding the sale of Celtic product via a roadshow at various towns in Scotland and Ireland and beyond. If they get enough notice from a certain town then they put up the official merchandise van like they have at home games. Obviously in this day and age people could order online and collect at these vans rather than pay the crazy delivery fee. It doesn;t fit or is not suitable you have the whole day to check your product and take it back. Saves the delivery for returns or driving to a Celtic shop which may be 100’s of miles away.

I also made a suggestion about merchandise affiliates. Shops who want to stock official products. This would go from your local newsagents selling keyrings and mugs to big department stores who want to sell more of the apparal side of things too.

Things have massively improved but KevJungle and many others are feeling disinterested or not as keen to attend matches and get excited about Celtic the club should be asking why and trying to bring them back.

People moan on here about Sky all the time but my sister works for them. Their customer retention is excellent and it is because they will do anything to keep their customers. Celtic are allowing fans who go week in week out and have done for decades to just walk away from the club?

    Why?

It’s something that they may be trying to resolve and you can’t force people to come back but you can approach it smarter.

I hope this is the route Celtic are taking.

I want to see that ground full and I also hope to be in it as much as I can.

It’s a little-known fact that genetic engineering has been with us for centuries. The likes of Mary Shelley knew, for instance, but it was mostly kept quiet.

Being a fairly new science back in the 18th Century, things could go amiss. When eventually the mutants became too obvious-some of the spiders and snakes especially!-and numerous,Captain Cook was hired to dump them far far away.

    Hence Australia.

We need to make better use of the areas around Celtic Park ,licenced food outlets with covered areas would be a start . Allowing friends and families to meet up well before the game for a bite to eat and a few drinks if required like they do in Germany .

The Celtic museum built as a centrepiece with a Fan Zone to attract supporters up to the ground early would also generate more money for the Club .

There are numerous things that could be done to attract people back to Celtic Park and not just on match days , we need to maximise all income streams to benefit the Club and it’s supporters .

I’m going to the Fans Forum on Monday night , hopefully we will get the chance to discuss some of these matters with the decision makers at Celtic .
