    There ye are.

I am not a qualified football coach (like most on here)

So I make no attempt to educate Neil Lennon and tell him what needs to be done

But I have a few health concerns about the way we are playing

At home (2 games) we have scored 5 and then 6 – easy on the eye (and the heart)

Away (2 games) we have scored 1 and then 1 not easy on the heart

Obviously breaking teams down away from home is a bit more complicated

But I sense at home we have a more attack minded cavalier attitude to the game

Away from home we have a “don’t give the ball away” approach

The longer the game goes on (away from home) when we are not at least 2 up the more tension creeps into the game and the more each player does not want to give the ball away – so we go back

    And the tension increases

Yesterday the last 10 minutes I was developing a heart attack

    And it’s still only August

    Is it just me !!!!!!

This tension is likely to remain for most of the season

relax oh when can I relax – the answer is a very defininate you cannot relax until 10 is achieved

So another 8 months of this delicate and difficult probing from the halfway line

    God help me

We are online and all “Celtic” supporters here so …

    not real life … and

your just as qualified as the rest of us

    :-)

By the way I hope you have “healthy concerns” and definitely NOT “health concerns”

d ) Momentum and law of averages on chances over the 90 plus minutes.

Had we scored early in the game the Dundee Utd game plan wouldn’t have stayed intact, like it did till 83

    minutes.

We’re not playing as well as we were at lock down last season but NFL has more than enough attacking options to at least keep the deficit down to Bolingoli’s idiocy.

Speaking of which have we signed a left back?

    If not, why not CSC

  5. Dry yer eyes,we won.Enough post mortem,3 points in the bag.We move on.

In saying that this SMSM has got me shit scared of Wednesday.Damn you,you infernal,Masonic led Printing Union.

    And associated hingers oan.

  6. Greg Taylor = left back

He is far better than some give him credit for … maybe if he was South American and not South Ayrshire he would be rated more

(disclaimer … I am not sure what part of Ayr wee Greggsy is from :-)

  7. Turkeybhoy

Disagree if we stop the postmortem the vacuum will be filled will political mince.😉

  8. Obviously I wasn’t at Tannadice yesterday but I did not think that Celtic played badly. The opposition was well drilled, robust and often more than robust. United had not the slightest ambition to win the game. Their game-plan consisted of thwarting Celtic by fair means and sometimes foul. The referee shared United’s ambition – detecting fouls when none had occurred at corners and applying the 7 metre distance for Celtic rule at free kicks outside the box. (Count the steps.)

  9. Fritzsong 4.54pm

Enough of that sensible thinking, Dallas junior was shocking yesterday and I also noticed the lack of “10 yards” when we had a decent free kick around their box .. am not blaming Dallas junior but in the weeks & months ahead I would prefer it if the players can nullify the ref much earlier in the game :-)

  10. Greg Taylor is an absolute diamond of a LB.Far too many living in the KT past.I saw KT,drive towards the byeline, not get the cross in,sometimes settle for the corner sometimes get blocked,as Greg does.He is up and down that touch line as often as KT was, sending in crosses, cut backs gaining 20-30 yards but so far,he has not taken the Bull Horn and led the GB in chants.Damn that man.He makes space,he supports the attacks,he links up great with the team.He is too small!!!!!.Same height as the guy we threw away, now CL winner with Liverpool

FFS wise up ,we write off guys too quickly.

  11. We’ve freed up something around 15 players since last season including loans out, with two left backs gone or going, Greg Taylor (smashing wee player for £2M) is not enough IMO

There is plenty of scope and finance to cover a left back spot not dented since we took in £25M for KT a campaign which could include a gruelling CL or EL group, requires more than one player for every position.

I’d wager Celtic sometime in the next six weeks will recruit another left back.

  12. I just put on my bet for the New Style C League Final. Gods Story is Incredible. His Love for All the Characters cannae be Questioned.

Anyway, I have went for over 14 Corners and over 5.5 Goals …. Centenary year Style.

    Likely to be 1-1.;)

  13. I find the practice of slagging & insulting players on line if they fail to meet our expectations to be cowardly & repulsive.

Very few of the Practitioners would have the balls to say it to a player face to face,

No player sets out to play badly but all do have stinkers from time to time.

The only time I think it is justified to really tear into a player is if he is not trying his best, that to me is unpardonable.

Yesterday I felt all our players tried their best, Dundee United put in a very good shift but at the back they were extremely dirty. The big bald guy I think he is Connolly was the worst offender.

I have little doubt that the stamp on Eddie’s Achilles just before half time was premeditated & meant to slow Eddie or put him out of game,

It could have been red but wasn’t even a yellow.

Dallas knew what United were doing & was happy to see it continue.

Despite the hacking we did dominate a competitive hardworking team on their own patch,

The winner came late & it meant a gut wrenching time for all of us but ghuys that’s what you sign up for when you fall in love with Celtic.

I must admit I felt angry reading the comments during the game & for the first time switched off the blog & didn’t read or comment until game was over.

Maybe I’m getting too old for this lark but some of the stuff posted just doesn’t square with my understanding of being a Celtic Supporter,

Anyhow rant over, I’ll take a break for 24 hours & see how I’m feeling then.

  14. Turkeybhoy,

Greg is slow, can’t beat a man and turns back continuously as a result, slowing down our play. Whips in a decent cross but never a Celtic LB sadly against better teams. I think he’ll end up our 2nd choice but it’s an area we definitely need to upgrade.

Our recruitment into LB post-Kieran has been very very poor.

  15. Why don’t we offer the Huns £5m for Barrisic ??? Decent left back, but would have to bide his time until Greg let’s him get a sniff

And by the way this nonsense about Greg Taylor can’t beat a man ??? Straight from big Sutton on the tv … watch the Bhoy … and when did defenders start having to beat people ?

  16. The Comfortable Collective on

    Well.

I’ve been having a look at the bookings each Scottish Premiership side has had to date.

Now some teams have played 5 games. And some have only played 3.

But the bookings for each team/ per game seems to suggest that there is one team in the SPFL Premiership who seem to get a disproprtionatalty less number of yellow cards per game than the other 11 teams.

    Hmmmm

This is of course not opinion. This is based on hard facts.

Once the St. Johnstone – Hibs game finishes I will post the stats here.

I’m sure it is all just coincidence, or honest mistakes.

Back in 2003 (I think) Walter with no surname actually “warned” the refs at the very start of that season … he actually said in an interview, and I paraphrase “we have a small squad and we CANT afford any suspensions” that was for the refs and not his players … sometimes it’s so obvious that most of us dont see it

  18. EL @ 1.30

Not sure where you are going with your comment but I would suggest it needs a bit of context.

Politics is about policy and also personality.

JS was more confident and sure of himself than TB — who was 15 years younger than him to be fair.

He had more political experience and a greater understanding of the party he was leading.

His main strength was that he was not scared fartless by the Forger’s Gazette.

He understood that trying to please everyone was a mugs game — TB tried for too long.

Consequently his loss has cost the party and the country an awful lot — in fact we are still dealing with it today.

He was probably a bit right wing for me but after 18 years of Tory mis-rule / economic incompetence / public sector devastation he would have been a welcome relief — as the TB / GB years were to confirm..

Remember 1997 is a generation away from 2020 and today’s certainties / knowledge was learned from their actions.

  19. TCC

I was thinking about the cards distribution earlier. I look forward to seeing your stats.

  20. GFTB- Smith said it when Bougherra and Diouf were sent off at CP in the so called shame game, both let off,Neil was the only guy to get disciplined by the SFA after that game,we sat back and took it…..again

  21. Bada 5.27pm

    Cheers for clearing that up

The “shame” game disgusts me, I think we had one yellow card ? McCoist at his sleeekist (sic) best … as for Bougherra that night he could have had 4 red cards … his “tackle” down the back of one of our players calf’s was very nasty and cowardly … am pretty glad none of our players resort to that … quite happy with any of our players “cementing” an opponent but the shoite bag sneaky stuff is never good

  22. Philbhoy 5.30pm

All hearsay … but remember Neil was laughing till the very last second then went bonkers

I was told … the snake 🐍 whispered

“Can I get my bullets back”

This game being not long after Neil has to get protection from Scotland’s finest
