  1. No worries Ziggydoc1. Tauranga is a sweet spot, easy winters, great summers, I walk the beach most days. I have two homes and miss my ain place, every day. I miss my family and friends and watching Celtic live. Anyone who can is lucky as. Hail Hail.

  2. Papajoe55, I’d imagine the 1000 or so fans would mostly all be seated in the same sections. Well spaced out obviously ( spaced out sounds good ). Not sure how they would select who would attend. Maybe have a random selection for each area.

    ………..

    HH Mate.

At the start of this Pandemic I was having serious problems in getting food etc delivered despite being a Tesco customer ( Home Delivery) for around 2 years…long before any Virus.

Sadly, many selfish Chumps were panic buying and that caused many problems…however along came DAVID66 ( My local hero)……and AN TEARMAN and LENNYBHOY to offer much need help.

These 3 guys are “STARS”….and I couldnt have the 3 of them running around after me, but DAVID66 stays more local to me than the others, plus he has a Car.

DAVID66 and his good lady couldnt do enough for me, and he wouldnt take any money for Petrol etc…that is why I STILL owe him a right good drink.

We met again a few weeks ago with some other Bhoys from here, but we were buying ” round for round” etc.

DAVID66 is gonna be very drunk one day soon….and hopefully his good lady wife will still speak to me ?

Stay safe mate, and I wish you and yours well.

    HH

I was wondering about how you would pick one thousand spectators for next week v Motherwell.

    *******

In the film Contagion when a vaccine was eventually found they picked a date from the calendar and anyone born on that date got first dibs for the vaccine. Could do the same for Season Ticket holders – although they may tweak it by your suggestion of age considerations.

Think the film came out around 2012 so was probably made about 2 years before. And they say they knew nowt…………

  5. Taurangabhoy, I thought I was staying in a town called Mount Maunganui. I guess it was actually Tauranga. Loved NZ. Stayed in Auckland, Paihia, Tauranga, Rotorua, Napier, Wellington, Kaikoura and Christchurch.

    All amazing places.

  6. A very welcome 3 points yesterday after a frustrating 82 minutes or so.

Utd certainly played well at times with closing us down etc……but The Hoops were not to be denied.

Ajeti did very well at his goal…refusing to give up etc…I hope there more to come from him and others of course ?

I thought the game seemed to pass by Scott Brown quite often…and maybe he wasnt really required yesterday to start the game and save him for the European game this week ?

    What do I know ?

    HH

  7. Big Jimmy 10.28am

Just my opinion but I think if Broony doesn’t play it gives our domestic opponents a lift … our captain is a mainstay and even when not influencing the game on the ball I think he influences our performance, I think all the players respond better with Scott in the team …

    but I don’t know much either :-)

By the way unlucky with your correct score line last Thursday, 3 out of 4, all four would have been a belter

  8. FAVOURITE UNCLE

I certainly wouldn’t like to be the one to tell TOHG, he wouldn’t be allowed in . That’s why I’m glad it’s not me, I will be 65 at the beginning of October and was thinking what I would do if I was fortunate enough to be one of the thousand . We have a 100 mile round trip to Celtic Park and good fun on the bus or a car full, do I come on my own . The pull of Celtic means I probably would . Again do the people making decisions look at a more local Data base , very difficult to get right.HH

  9. Big Jimmy

If you’re still thinking of going to Blackpool – my son went last week – very busy but fully open – difficult to socially distance outside – he ate and drank in the hotel – restaurants need booking. Should be quieter after the schools go back next Tuesday.

    Anyway if you go enjoy

  10. Ziggydoc1 you got around mate. It is a good place even if it is too far from paradise. Big Jimmy glad to see you on the mend mate and love your positivity. I can see how you charmed the burds 😉 DAVID66 is some man. GFTB to my shame I thought Broony was past his peak and he proved me wrong enough to want him to play every game, legend that he is now. The question still needs asked who is his successor, and they have big boots to fill.

  11. So ignore each other or agree to differ and stay on her for the ten. Hail Hail

for some on here the 10 dosent matter a jot.

  12. Bright and dry in Corcaigh……….

    More storms Tuesday.

It’s Good To Be a Tim tho’ eh!

    :)

  13. GFTHB…

IF Legia Warsaw had beaten the mankie Linfield UDA FC…4-0…or I had taken Legia to win 1-0…I would be posting this from the Feckin Bahamas …instead of the beautiful green site of The CALTON !

    LOL

    ……

    GENE..

Cheers mate…for the Blackpool info…I am very undecided STILL !

    HH.

  14. I believe Lennon wants Broony to lead us to the ten, whether he’s playing good, bad or indifferent

    Bamboo : Agree.

    Ernie Lynch: Disagre

    Cheers and HH.”

Apart from the `Cheers and HH ` , I am just the opposite.

  16. BIGRAILROADBLUES on 23RD AUGUST 2020 10:52 AM

Good morning all from Govanhill. Ffs it’s pouring down again. PUB TIME!!😂😂

    ………..

    Yer some Bhoy BRRB.

I havent been out or had a Beer since Wednesday, but I am considering getting ready and hitting the boozer sometime soon…maybe ?

Sadly, my local Pub has its fair share of ” Chumps, Roasters, Space Cadets etc”…just like any other Pub…but cos of this social distancing and NOT being allowed to stand/sit at the Bar it has became more difficult to get away from said “Chumps/Roasters etc” whenever I do go out to my local.

Even though I try NOT to converse with said Chumps/Roasters etc…due to restricted seating/spacing etc…I usually have them sitting quite near me, and I cant but help over hearing their Pish…it puts me off going out.

In “Normal” times I could sit/stand at the Bar and be well out of ear shot from those Space Cadets…not now…sadly.

    HH

  17. Philbhoy

Or perhaps our Manager believes, as I do , Scott Brown is still a very influential player for our team.

  18. HOT SMOKED

Is his influence greater on or off the pitch?

Or are my fellow CQN’ers all talking rubbish?

  19. We played well enough to win yesterday. Watching the game I thought the pace was a bit slow but looking closely, I think that one reason for that was the length of the grass on the pitch. Is this a tactic to be employed by opposition clubs on grass? whilst those who play on plastic will slow it down by not watering the surface. At Celtic Park we try to play a fast passing game, away from home we’re going to need something a wee bit different.

  20. Tarangaubhoy 10.46am

I think Calmac could grow into Broonys role … (if he stays long term) I like the look of Lewis Ferguson and Alan Campbell at Motherwell … but only because they know our league … just before punters start getting too excited I am not sure they are the finished article … but same people might have said the same about Broony back in 2008 :-)

  21. bigrailroadblues on

Big Jimmy 11.13. The Star Bar is a magnet for the people you describe. The staff allow the good guys a lot of leeway but are very strict with the undesirable element. We just sit, smile, laugh and rip the mince outta them. Great fun, especially last night. 😂

  22. weebobbycollins on

Taurangabhoy…I know how it feels to be thousands of miles away from Celtic Park. Nowadays, at least we have the internet and can keep up with what’s happening at home. I first moved away at the end of ’71 and only kept in touch via bbc world service plus the sunday mail and sunday post that my mum sent. Unfortunately, the papers took 12 weeks to arrive…so, saturday evenings, 7pm, found me trying to find the world service’s very weak signal (I was 5 hours behind) for that day’s football results. Sometimes the signal was strong and at other times very weak indeed….

Often it went like this…all the english results first then, ” Scottish league division 1…Airdrie 0 St Mirren 1…Dundee 2 Kilmarnock 1…Falkirk 1 Celtic ssssssshhhsssssshhssotherwell 0….league division 2…” The midnight bulletin was the last one to give the scores so, that meant I had to wait 3 months to find out the result….changed days eh? Anyone else experience similar?

Is his influence greater on or off the pitch?

    a) I don`t know;

    b) Again, I don`t know. What are all your fellow CQNers saying?

Do ALL CQNers believe Broonie is no longer worthy of selection?

  24. HOT SMOKED on 23RD AUGUST 2020 11:12 AM

And that is your perogative. It’s a blog and it’s all about opinions.

I’m glad we can all agree on Cheers and HH.

  25. weebobbycollins on

GFTB…I’m not a fan of Lewis Ferguson, think he’s pretty average, Campbell I haven’t seen enough of to form an opinion. I sincerely hope Soro fulfills his potential…we shall see!

CB required asap. So many games coming up.

  26. Scott Brown = serial winner

Like many of his opponents, dismiss him at your peril …

He will be far more appreciated (like many things) when we don’t have him

Enjoy your day fellow Celts :-)

Hopefully Aberdeen & Hibs both win today

  27. Philbhoy

Sorry. I took `My fellow Cqn`ers` to mean all who post on here.

    To whom does it refer?

  28. WBC @ Question Time

In case you missed my first attempt: — my thoughts on JS x 2 — hopefully politics only.

    JS(1) = Jim Sillars

From Hammer of the Nats to being Old Monkey Glands Talking Head.

Wee Eck but without the hormones and the Octopus Arms

    JS(2) = John Smith

My generation’s JFK moment when the news came over the radio.

Labour’s lost PM — and how we still pay for his early passing.

Although if it was football then JS would only mean one man.

  29. I fear Soro’s fate will be similar to Shved, Bayo and the rest who never really got a chance.

Just as well we’ve got pots of money.

  30. WBC 11.38am

Understandable … my opinion is based on not much evidence just highlights and reports on the games played in SPL… was just replying to Taraungbhoy for any ideas on a Broony “replacement” in the seasons to come…

  31. weebobbycollins on

Bamboo v Ernie…tough one. I understand both opinions but this virus has not been consistent with all those affected. So, maybe wait just a wee bit longer and see how it plays out. I see a lot of fear in people still and that I have to respect.

  32. Our MF was once our strength but now it is phoning it in and living off its reputation.

The set up is wrong / the mix is wrong / the personnel are wrong.

CMcG = Squad player at the moment but getting better every year.

Unfortunately he couldn’t keep weans oot a close so he is not what SB needs now.

SB = His drop in performance has been 3 years in the making.

We owe him some slack and he is the captain but he is well of the pace.

The fact that we are now seeing his creative side after 12 years in the shadows tells you how far he has fallen with his normal game.

He needs legs and bite beside him.

RC = Huge talent who has stagnated over the past year.

Still not making himself the big personality we need in the middle.

The hop skip and a jump reaction to failure is getting a wearing.

ON = Head looks as if it is wasted.

Our coaching / game set up is not getting the most out of him.

Starting to look sloppy and lazy at times.

However on his day he is class player we need.

TR = The 2018 WC seems to have been the start of his decline.

Not sure if it is confidence or injury that is bringing him down.

Then again he had his purple patch in 2018 Q4 when SB was injured.

So he still has it — just a case that he needs help to find it.

However he cannot be added to our MF — he needs the MF built around him.

Today it looks like he is up against ME for the creative role.

Another one who does not look fully committed to the team / club.

The elephant in the room regarding our decline in MF is the changeover from BR to NL.

Two different coaches / two different styles / two different attitudes.

All come into play regarding our MF decline.

  33. Having had to go out last night,I watched the replay when I got home.Knowing the score probably helped to be relaxed watchi ng.I thought we played very well. The passing from Big Nir was something to behold. An exhibition.Fantastic.

I did say a couple of weeks ago when Ajeti was first mentioned,he reminded me very much of Hooper.I see Lenny has come out today with the same opinion.

Ryan looking more like his old self.Worked tirelessly.Contrary to some,I thought Broony was just Broony.Very good game.Held it all together.Like this Keeper.Distribution, quick and sharp.Inspires confidence.Did not agree with Lenny,in dropping El Hamed. Not for an away game.In saying that,Julien and Biton were excellent.

Very happy. Now get a CH in.
