How important is belief and entitlement for a football team?
Watching Stoke v Man U and the mental approach by both teams is startlingly different.
Stoke seem to play good football until they get to the last third and then their belief gets suspended and they become hesitant and unsure.
Man U meanwhile seem to have an abundance of belief in the forward areas and create chances despite their team play looking patchy.
I often post about the difference in our play when we play in a proactive style over being a reactive team.Yesterday we were to reactive and was not surprised we struggled to win despite huge possessional advantage much like last season.

Gerry if i had started at 12 i would have been heading up the road at the time i actually arrived. Lightweight these days! Was doing well until Petec introduced single malts into the round :-(
Frantic – enjoyed your patter and the co of your mrs.
I looked at a story online today ( Sunday post ????), which claimed that the company that owned the electronic advertising boards at Hampden, have lodged a claim against Glasgow Council for £800,000 in damages ?
The city father’s ain’t amused at the possibility of being liable for the damage as they are not insured for such matters, and it seems that if/when this claim is addressed, Hibs and the Huns will be liable ?
Oh I do hope so !
Although I missed out on the days outing yesterday, I had a very profitable day at home betting the horses, £10 gambled= £ 72 winnings !

FAN-A-TIC @ 12:46 PM,
That’s well observed…
Think it was Scott Brown who said, BR asked them to be brave on the ball.
I’ve noticed this in Scott’s play (and that all the forward going players), he may not be the best at going past his man but he’s more inclined to drive forward and give it a go.
The thing is we were so cautious in the last third… often, though not always, we looked bereft of ideas.
The thing is being “brave on the ball” means you can loose possession and then you are open to a counter-attack…
The trick is… don’t loose it:) Which we are definitely getting better at.
T’uther thing… is when you play a high pressing game and have players in support you can win possession back… of course when you do you more often than not are in a dangerous position too hurt teams.
Yesterday Dundee sat deep and were well organised… similar to ICT a few weeks before… if these teams work hard and defend well it’s tough to create chances in and around the box.
Dundee did well but for me we were (quite understandably) jaded.
Noticed the way their forward Teijsseput himself about earlier in the game and went dangerously in on Craig Gordon as he jumped to pluck the ball out of the air… looked a sore one.
But nice to see a few of the bhoys straightening him out… this is great to see this in a “Team”.

Hi bhoys and ghirls. Had every intention of going to the hoot but Im down with the lurgy. You all seem to have had a great time. Sorry to have missed. Wont be long till the next one which I wont miss . HH
Aye. I had IBS for years until 3 years ago when I was laid up in hospital passing some very jaggy kidney stones. They did a cat scan at time and about 6 months later I was asked back as someone had taken a look at my cat scan and saw something they didn’t like in my colon. So went back and some looney who looks up bums for a living diagnosed Diverticular disease and said my IBS was always this. Never really had major flare ups and infections till this year. But this year has been a pain in the arse. My staple diet is antibiotics. Kept me away from Celtic Park a fair wee bit to.
Personally I think IBS is an excuse by docs for ‘we’re not paying out of our practice budget for someone to look up your rectum and diagnose you properly’.

Even after the bevvy yesterday about 6 pints, split a bottle of red with my good lady in Jamie’s Italian, then drank a bottle of red watching the golf, no reaction.
Apart from a sair heid!
Hope you are feeling better and mibbe see you at the next get together.
It would be good to get a year off. Not had a drink in months. I’d be as well just opening a bottle and pouring it down the loo without stressing the alcohol by forcing it through my intestines. Not fair on alcohol to do that to it. It deserves better. :-)

Good morning everyone
With KT away for a few weeks, I’m having a real bachelor style weekend. … BARBQ for dinner, drinking pop straight out of the bottle, and even … Are you sitting down? Leaving the dishes in the sink! I kno… I am a wild man!!!
And watching sports all day and night! Up late watching F1, and now watching the EPL football (Leicester/Southampton and Spurs/man city) until the golf starts… A few thoughts on the football
1. Virgil VD looks like a player, even at EPL level. And never seems to get flustered. One cool character
2 Spurs up 2-0, and obviously have watched our game. We should send a bill to Spurs for our consulting services!
3. City are wearing a blue/black strip with red trim and florescent yellow socks. This, after Wednesday when they wore that pseudo-barca strip that looked like a salmon had exploded on them. Who designs these strips? Why do clubs need three strips,, and why do they have to be ugly? and what connection is there between man city and exploded salmons?

Good game at Spurs v City.
The Celts provided the blueprint to beat City and the Spurs coach has fully utilised it.
The high press stops their free flowing style and renders them unsure and fragile.
Bayern did it to Peps Barca when they humbled them over two legs.
During the fanfare after Cities great start i stated they would struggle when pitches got heavier and coaches sussed his systems limitations.
Brendan rumbled him early and the Spurs coach has cashed in.
