    Tontine … How ya doing?

     

     

    What you say makes sense, and clubs have always played upon fans’ loyalty, but it seems to be getting worse. Now sponsors/kit manufacturers/UEFA, etc now also seem like they are preying on fan loyalty to make ungodly amounts of money. In my opinion, 3 new strips every season or two (and the prices they charge) is larcenous. just are trying to soak fans, and they don’t even try to hide that is what they are doing …. Ggrrrr!!

     

     

    I also like Danny dichio. . An honest player, and a decent commentator. And I tend to agree with him on deBruyne.

     

     

    I think deBruyne is maybe the best box to box midfielder in the world at the moment, and I really enjoy watching him play. For that reason, I was glad he missed the Celtic game, as he is a game changer.

    I think most of the players are Irish lads who work in Scotland .

     

    Got chatting with a Glasgow fan (Ronan) who talked me through the basic rules.

    Again, I have said PR is a good golfer, but not as good as Rory, and I don’t enjoy his behaviour. and there is ample evidence to corroborate the serious allegations that were made against him.. College teammates and coaches who don’t seem to have any reason to lie. I hope Rory cleans his clock.

    16 of us are going to Rome on Friday,Golden Wedding celebrations,staying at the Piram Hotel close to the Termini Station.

     

    Can anyone recommend a authentic Italian resturant,used by locals,close to Hotel.

    Not sure about Kodi, but there is a free Ryder Cup app through the PGA that streams live. Heading up there shortly trying to watch Rory. Crowds are huge, 7 or 8 deep around every green and fairway and all the stands are packed from first light. Really hope Rory hammers Reed today.

    I am going to waffle a bit in this answer. :)

     

     

    At the moment, I am not watching the games on celtictv, so am only seeing the euro games, and some SPFL highlights. So, my info is a bit limited, and I may not have a full picture. But since you have asked, I will answer based on my limited observations, and trust that you will understand that it is qualified….

     

     

    Is he showing more than last season? Unquestionably. In general, Almost every player has played better under BR than they did last season under RD. Is SB one of the most improved this season? I would say yes.

     

     

    To be fair to SB, I would surmise that injuries really hampered SB’s performances last season, and in some games he has seemed like a different player this season.

     

     

    I thought he was very, very good against Man city, but there is not one Celtic player who I would say was not at least good in that game. Conversely, there have been a few games this season (away European ties) where almost no one earned their wages.

     

     

    But, if I were starting a team, and wanted to sign a mid to build my team around, would I sign SB? Honestly, my answer would still be no.

     

     

    He has tremendous assets (heart, stamina, and certain intangibles), but if I am looking for a centre mid, I am looking for more of a cerebral player, who unifies the team, not just by heart and personality (which, clearly SB does), but also acts as a quarterback/conductor on the field, or even as the coach’s proxy on the park (like I think NFL was for MO’N).. And that is and has never been SB’s game.

     

     

    Some people like the old masters, others prefer Van Gogh, while some favour Picasso. None are right, and none are wrong. For me, footballers are like that. Most Scottish football fans seem to like the Hurley burly of Scottish style football, and appreciate footballers like SB who suit that game. As I have increasingly watched less Scottish football, and more football from around the world, I have come to appreciate more different styles of football (even, surprisingly to myself, some of the Italian stuff, which I used to think was too slow) than what I see in Scotland, and different styles of footballers than SB.

     

     

    Haven’t read back, so apologies for typos and the slowness of my response, but I am watching the TV, which means typing on the bloody iPhone… ggrrr..l so hope this makes sense
