Congratulations Paul on finishing your 13.1 for the first time.
Take very good care of your feet over the next few days, and in particular the ole toenails, as they are susceptible to, well suddenly falling aff :-)
The challenge is now is out there to complete the 26.2 next.
Disclaimer: I am in no way involved in running. My preferred event is the exhausting and relentless pursuit of searching out distant and obscure craft breweries.
It’s the missus that is the mental wan in the family. Over the years I’ve watched her go from healthy looking to a skeleton as she trains and runs in various events- minus multiple toenails. Aff her San Francisco hippy head so she is.
I see HamiltonTim is getting it tight from the sudden appearance of a shiny new blog moniker (again).

And I’m saying that having never even met him.

Re Paul completing half marathon, it can become a desire to do marathon, and in some cases go on to triathlons – sprint, standard, olympic then Ironman.
My wife did that starting from charity 5k run. Culminating in three Ironman events! And all after she was 45! I was her roadie and cheerleader out and about on the longer courses – covered half a marathon distance each long event. Been to Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, Dublin, Zurich, Channel Islands, Barcelona, New Zealand, Cardiff to support her. She is now 60 and still doing 10k events.

We do a weekly accumulator in work, 11 of us @ €2 each. My bet, Gent in EL, was voided because the bet was placed after that game. Gent won btw.
Anyway, we are now on 9/10. In the outstanding bet we need the USA to win the Ryder Cup.

Almore, the Hub centre on Springfield Road , beside the Emirates, has a wee cafe also which is open on Saturday match days.
You have my backing for a cafe in the environs of Celtic Park. If Celtic had plans for fanzone , I’m sure , the polis and the Council would oppose it for the most spurios of reasons.
I have had a soft spot for the Mayo team for a number of years. They used to have their own maestro , Kevin McStay when our very own Maestro was our main man.
Paul and all the rest of the runners today, congratulations on all your efforts today.
Re Mayo: they made Dublin work very hard for their victory yesterday and were unlucky to concede two o.gs in the original final. They should come good in the next couple of years. Definitely best team after Dublin.

Almore, there should be toilets at least in the Superstore as I’m assuming some of our support who have travelled a long distance by bus, would require to use the facilities.
I’m aware many supporters buses have cludgies on them, but from personal experience , not the most pleasant experience using them.
Almore on
Dallas: You are right about the toilets. During the day, you can access toilets in the Main Stand, to the right of the front entrance but it is not well advertised and and this facility has only been available for a few years.
Your point about the buses is very true but it also reminds me of the Rangers fan who died in the bus crash yesterday – condolences to his family. I’ve been a regular visitor on that route, as have many Irish and west coast supporters, so I am well aware of the dangers along the way.
Well done to Paul67 & Bundoran Bhoy for completing the half marathon and raising money for their worthy causes.
Delighted for you skin. Pleasure re ticket was all mine, just glad I could be of assistance. It certainly went to a good home and there are plenty on the blog who know that you would be the first to look after any CQNer in need of similar.

From the Celtic Trust
Announcement re Living Wage resolution to the AGM
Last year the PLC Board agreed to pay all permanent staff the then current Living Wage rate as a minimum. The Chairman also implied that this minimum rate would be reviewed at the time of the normal annual wage review at Celtic – 1st July. What he did not tell us, but which they actually did, was to remove the annual bonus from all staff who had their wages raised as a result of this development ie the lowest paid employees were removed from the bonus scheme. We recognise that a guaranteed higher wage is preferable to a discretionary bonus but we felt, and said publicly at the time, that it was a mean and petty move by Celtic and amounted to giving with one hand and taking away with the other.
Have the permanent employees of Celtic F.C. specifically asked the Celtic Trust to negotiate wages on their behalf ?
Have they been given a vote on the matter ?
If so , what was the result ?
Almore on
G98: Cheers. Great day out and Celtic winning earlier made it even better.

The Ryder Cup is another EPL, over promoted and dramatised by the TV companies into something much bigger than it is. As a golf fan i enjoy watching it but the sight of 30 odd multi millionaires drying their eyes over something that in reality means very little other than bragging rights is over the top.

Many highlight plodding round the streets of Glasgow in the 1/2 Marathon today. The city and its people at its best.
I still find it odd going past Ibrox without Charles Patterson of Sky standing outside waiting on the next disaster to afflict the newco.
A huge effort from all, especially our own Paul 67, to both run and raise so much for charity
.
Results of the Champions League teams today indicate how hard it is for teams to bounce back to tough games following big CL nights. We have a semi final at the national stadium, albeit against a newly promoted club, immediately after our BMG match in 2 weeks. Worth noting.
