The very last thing anyone connected with Rangers wanted to read this morning is that Andrew Ellis, Craig Whyte’s former associate, is suing the Rangers owner for 24.9% of the club’s shares. This puts a further legal impediment in the way of any potential transfer of shares or stadium assets from Whyte to a new party. It remains to be seen if Ellis is in a position to legally enforce his claim however the veracity of his claim may be moot.
Prospective Rangers buyers do not have time to spend in court hearings and appeals before the start of the new season. If a phoenix (or even a CVA) is to be put in place it is likely that those with a claim, any claim, will need to be satisfied.
This development comes a week after Whyte transferred the security over Ibrox he holds through Rangers FC Group Ltd to Liberty Corporate Ltd.
Legal issues over ownership of shares and assets aside, Rangers’ administrators still have to deal with creditors, in particular, HMRC, who will soon learn if their tax demand against the club has been upheld by the First Tier Tribunal, and Ticketus. Duff and Phelps were denied the right to set aside the deal which Ticketus struck with Rangers to buy thousands of seasons tickets, leaving a path open for Ticketus to present a legal challenge to any deal which does not recognise their interests.
Chances of an early exit from administration appear to be diminishing by the day. Motherwell were in administration for four days short of two years between April 2002 and April 2004. If Rangers are not out of administration on the morning the new season kicks off they would start on minus 10 points.

Atrocious spelling my friend. Back in the day my spelling was rotten too and in fact when I was just a lad like you, I joined the libraray.
Helped a lot.

Humour more often than not has a punch-line.
A punch-line involves a fall-guy.
Get over it. You have told us what you think. Repeating it until you are blue in the face,or sthcweaming until you are thick won’t alter the views of people who disagree with you.

If it BREAKS THE LAW he will be “dealt with”? Otherwise move on, eah?
The same excuse could have been used by Hugh Dallas. The Famine Song is not illegal either. Nor is joking about the Holocaust. Is the law the standard we’re talking about here? Is that the only standard that matters?
Your comments are an amoral disgrace. There is a higher standard here and if I have to point it out to you that’s pretty bad.
Your more general comments are perfectly valid, as your own opinion, and I don’t feel like getting into it with you. You are as entitled to them as I am to mine.

The Larkhall story is unbelievable but true. It beggars belief the a local council are seen to more or less condone the actions of these morons. The town’s name is synonimous with bigotry and you would think someone in power there would attempt to create a better image. Larkhall is closer to Hicktown Alabama circa 1950 than it is to Western Europe 21st century. Sadly there are others just as bad, like Shotts, Harthill and Kilwinning.
Another embarrassing blight which makes Scotland in my opinion, the most socially backward country in the EEC. ‘Best wee country in the world’ has to be a joke.

Consider the subject dropped mate. It’s been done to death. No-one’s mind is going to be changed here. Positions are becoming entrenched.
Besides, this “self serving publicity seeker” has had it for the day.
For those people who want us to spend, as they put it ” SERIOUS MONEY” have a look at whats happening at Ibrox.

Spot on sir.
It rips ma knitting when folk make judgements without all the information required to reach a balanced one and then when it looks like a mistake has been made, the reluctance to forgive.
The thing about forgiving is everyone of us is going to be looking for it at some time in our life.
Give and ye shall receive.
After a great weekend thoughts drifting to an encounter with the Jambos. Should be a great game and a real test with Beattie and Skacel in good form but if our Bhoys are in the mood there is only one winner.
Let Commons and Samaras loose on the wide open Hampden spaces and Charlie rampaging down the wing. Can’t wait!

Edward, good to hear from you!
This place must make for heavy reading these days.
danso_1888, we are part of Scottish football but we are not Scottish football.
Breeny, it appears to be a right of passage thing for some.
Auldheid, yes, that was my understanding. The SFA can expel a club for an insolvency event (such as administration) but has never actually done so. Fair enough, in my view.
Awe Naw, …. I am close to despair here. If Celtic have to choose between voting for or against a Newco and they vote against, their view is established.
Can I offer a view for you to ponder……….
Some people just don’t think Celtic can survive without Rangers. For them, Celtic voting against Newco is inconceivable.
The rest of us think Celtic will get on quite well without Newco. For us, it is not such a challenge to believe the club will vote against.
Looking into this topic reveals, not Celtic’s inner desires and fears, but our own.
I therefore conclude, as the bard would say, you protest too much!! I believe they have a fighting fund if you are of a mind to help, although I cannot recommend it.
Happy to help out with that.
oldtim67, I agree with you.
bournesouprecipe, the chapter on Flax is one of the things which makes Kevin McCarra’s new book an absolute must read for all of us.
If you cannae joke any mair does that mean we aw cannae sing

All the SFA have to do is declare Rangers FC a busted flush whom they are withdrawing a license from.
CW can gets his money from the selling of Ibrox but without a football license it will become flats, waste ground or a museum. (ASDAs just up the road)

I just did a yahoo search for “joe o’rourke tweet titanic.”
The very first link that was thrown up was for vanguardbears. There they were, fulminating about bigotry from Joe O’Rourke. The vanguardbears ffs!
They’ve also put up a screen grab and when you look at what Joe actually said, it shouldn’t even qualify as a storm in a teacup.
His response said, the problem is the people who built it weren’t sailing on it. Now if he’d said, “it’s a PITY the people who built it etc,” that might be construed as in some way wishing they’d been killed. But it sounds more to me like the “Catholics building icebergs” tweet he was responding to was, in his view, pointless.
To say he wished people dead is hysterical nonsense.
The people driving this campaign are enemies of the Celtic movement. The kind of people who claim Neil Lennon calling the Rangers dug-out, “Orange b*****ds,” or spotting on a Rangers scarf (both allegedly) justifies the bombs and bullets.
We should be protecting our own when they are singled out like this, not offering them up as sacrificial victims.
Breeny welcome and hi.

I agree with most of your post re JOR. I’ve never met the man but have read many of his posts and have never been enraged by his comments. I get the feeling that one or two on here are glad of the opportunity to “put the boot in.”
My father was expelled from Harland & Wolff as an apprentice in July 1911. If I were to repeat some of the comments he made about the builders of the Unsinkable the reaction of those offended would be ……unthinkable
