EX-CELTIC TARGET UP FOR GRABS – AT £120,00 PER MONTH

ONE-TIME Celtic target Martin Odegaard is heading for the English Championship – with clubs eager to pick up his £120,000-per-month wages.

Real Madrid are looking for the former Norwegian Golden Boy, still only 19, to get game time – and that has alerted Aston Villa, Derby and Middlesbrough.

It looked as though Odegaard would join up with his mentor Ronny Deila during his two-year reign at Parkhead.

The youngster made history when the ex-Hoops boss gave him his debut at Stromsgodset at the age of 15 years and 118 days.

Deila invited Odegaard to Glasgow, but the lure of the Spanish giants proved irresistible. He signed for them in 2015 in a £3million deal.

The midfielder, who was only 15 years and 253 days when he won his first international cap, spent last season in Holland with Heerenveen where he made 43 appearances before injury cut short his stay.

He is looking forward to the next challenge and said: “The important thing will be to go to a team where I can play.”

The European kings are stipulating the teenager MUST get regular first team football which echoes Chelsea’s sentiment with Charly Musunda during his brief and ill-starred interlude at Parkhead..

Interested clubs will also have to pick up his £30,000-per-week salary and that hasn’t acted as a deterrent to the three English outfits with the Championship loan window poised to close at the end of the month.
