Exploiting a vulnerable man, the drive to Bristol Airport, WW in the UK

611

There is a degree of public interest in reading about, or listening to, spivs exploit the stupidity of some football fans to bring a club to its knees, but the sight of a tired and emotional looking Malcolm Murray stumbling away from an event is neither entertaining nor of interest to anyone with a sense of humanity.

Have you ever seen a drunk football player or official?  I have.  It has never been news before nor should it be now.  If the man has an actual problem the first response from his club and the wider game must be to offer support for one of our national illnesses.

The fan with a phone camera probably knows no better, but passing-round a recording of when a Frankie Howerd impersonator confronted Murray about his alleged problem is truly awful.

The audio was almost certainly not uploaded onto the internet by ‘Howerd’ but it was his decision to make and distribute the recording.  I hope he informed Murray the call was being recorded.

10 years ago today five of us filled a car and drove to Bristol Airport, the nearest available departure point for Scot’s leaving for the Spain; more-local airports were booked out within minutes of the event ahead being confirmed.  Bristol is a small airport but the place was full of other Celtic fans who had travelled south for the same purpose.  Every departure point in the land was filled by green and white.

A remarkable exodus was underway, it was a privilege to be part of it.

Great news, Willie Wallace has made the long trip from Aus and is now in the UK.  Looking forward to catching up with him next week.

I see contributing to Willie’s autobiography has had a dramatic effect on Rod Stewart’s career!  He’s just reached No. 1 in the album chart for the first time in decades.  Hail, hail, Rod.

You can pre-order the autobiography in Willie’s own words, with Rod’s contribution, Brogan Rogan’s best writing yet, and Archie MacPherson’s fantastic scene setting (“the best team I’ve ever seen”) with the link below.  Willie will be signing all copies ordered now just as soon as the presses roll.

Nostalgia overload.  Need to hold it together for tomorrow.

  2. Regan is just carrying out his duties on behalf of those club’s

he represent’s and those club’s apparently dont have a problem

with his leadership otherwise i am sure they would soon let him know.

  3. Stewart Regan has said the alleged links between Green & White is a very serious issue. So what is he going to do?. Wait for the result of Sevco’s internal investigation. So if Sevco declare themselves innocent that will be all right then. Move along Timmy..

  5. Here is an exclusive early draft of The Rangers’ internal review.

    ——————

    To whom it may concern.

Everything at the dignified and glorious Glasgow Rangers is all fine and hunky dory now. Yes, there were a few problems caused by Sir David Murray, but he’s gone now. Craig White caused a few problems too, but he’s gone now. And Charles Green will soon be gone too, along with a few of his cronies.

It hasn’t been easy down in the third division, But another glorious championship has been secured and our march back to our rightful place is on track following many investors backing our great club and our fans continuing to cough up. Once we bring a couple of new directors on board and secure even more wonderful sponsorship deals all will be fine.

Nothing to see here, move along.

And he has brought some friends with him. Friends who are going to get them all in one big mess a’ trouble

  7. We all know that the report will say nothing to see here, and we all know the sfa will do sfa.

It might turn out for the best in the long run, cos when the merde hits the fan further down the line, the sfa will be seen to be complicit…..hopefully.

Cos hope is all we have left.

    WHAT IF!!!!!!!!!

Seen these two posts on TSFM site

FWIW in the great Who is Charlotte debate:

My warped mind thinks CF is the one and only Charles green.

    Why,

1.He’d have access to everything alomg with Mr Ahmad.

2.did CF not say at the weekend that CW is taking action against him(worthingtons).

3.I think it’s a ploy by CG and CW to divert attention while they put the final part of their plan into action.Green says he’s staying at RIFC until the end of May.why?.

4.He’s ran away to France, supposedly never to return but conveniently far enough removed to dodge any questioning.

I think what’s happening right now is a deliberate attempt to screw Rangers for one last payment.Remember the report of MM trying to raise £30m.

My conspiracy for today is that Green,Whyte,Ahmad and the spivs will get a clean bill of health from the “independent” enquiry,MM,the Cardigan have been given a figure and they’ve got ’til the end of May to come across. If they don’t then RIFC will call something like an MVL and cash in the assets. The few fans, relatively speaking will get somethingback but the spivs with their penny shares will walk away with the lot.

Feel free to shoot me down in flames

    ————–

Joe 90 is IA according to FF

Here is the email that was sent with the recording.

This VR is why MM has a personal vendetta and is not objective re CG and IA. The £1m spent on Pinsents could have been spent more wisely by spending £500k with Allen and Overy to shut CW up forever.

Much more to come. CG/IA delivered £35m to Rangers and everyone makes them villains when proven liar CW comes out with a pack of lies. It will take a few months but the truth should hopefully come out.

Just need Malcolm’ s personal Witch Hunt/Vendetta ahem “Independent Commission” complete and lawyers will sort CW (lawyers don’t want to start case just in case anything out of MM personal witch hunt contradicts case against CW) out once and for all….

Whole Rangers board is grossly negligent carrying on with a Witch Hunt which can never be conclusive. The only way to know whether CW is involved or not is to take him to a real court and shut him up forever.

MM and WS have made a big mistake. They have set up a firing squad independent commission when they were planning on firing CG and IA whatever the outcome (have VR of board meeting on 15/4 discussing sacking IA/CG whatever happens to prove this but will release this after commission is finished). They’re now stuck with an internal investigation which can only harm the club if it comes up with an inconclusive decision as it will give the CW conspiracy theorists a field day if they do not come up with a definitive yes or no.

Rangers NEDs will all be voted out at EGM for gross negligence as petitioners have the right to amend and add resolutions which they will of course do.

If you are about we spoke about the possibility of Sevco fielding the likes of Jon Daly and Cammy Bell as trialists before they can officially register them.

Can’t find a definition of a trialist from the SFL rules but SPL rules say:

“Trialist means a player who is under assessment and evaluation by a Club as to his ability, fitness or the like to play association football for that Club in Official Matches and who is not Registered to that Club”

Now assuming that Sevco has agreed contracts with these players (and presumably started to pay them), its unlikely they would fall into the category above.

  10. Apoligies to Awe Naw, but the abridged version :

Scottish FA chief executive Stewart Regan has described alleged links between former Rangers chief executive Charles Green and Craig Whyte are a “issue not worthy of our attention”.

The governing body dont need to wait until the outcome of a report, commissioned by the Ibrox club as obviously no action is required.

In April the Ibrox side appointed investigators from The DUP and the Masons to look into claims made by former owner Whyte over his friendship with Green during the change of ownership last summer.

Green resigned his position in April but stated “arnt yorkshire men allowed t have mates ”

Regan said: “We wrote to the club and expressed our agreement on a number of points , 5 of them , related to the revelations in the press that Craig and Charles are pals.

“The matter was then handed over to The Masons under the stewardship of Finlay Farqurson RWM and we have agreed that things are squared up and we can leave the reporting to him.

“The report is being done very much on an independent basis. The club have agreed to keep the findings of that report internal to avoid any embarrasment to the Scottish Press who obviously will have members and brothers who also considered them “friends of the Rangers”.

So no need for transparency, its not like we are a Club on the stock exchange, thats the parent company, not the club.

In April 2012, the Scottish FA under pressure from Peter Lawell, John Reid, Neil Lennon both Popes (see, two entities can exist at the same time) and some of the Kennedys, banned Whyte for life from “any friendships ” in Scottish football for a range of name calling and tape recording of the association’s drunken sing songs at lodge Cathcart.

The 42-year-old claims he was behind Sevco 5088, the company originally designated to purchase a bike, some arsenal shares , some footballers, and a box of rowing apparel saying to belong to the club .

However Green says he and business partner Imran Ahmad, only told Whyte that he have the loving cup and the Barcelona toilet bowl that greggy stood on when he got the winners cup cup runners up cup thing. Boths friends, however did agree, that purchasing the “history” was ludicrous, and its not doctor who or time travel or any other such shite.

Regan refused to be drawn over whether any alleged dealings would affect the club’s in-eligibility to play football and the transfer of the club’s Scottish FA membership to Green’s new company, which was agreed last summer. Instead quoting, this is old news , Celtic were also a phoenix club, changing their name several times through the centuries, infact its well known that the priest that founded them deliberately talked about the Keltic football club as a means of hiding the true nature of the organisation, instead of being a stand up business , they were actually moving funds out off the gate money into a bag and distibuting to churches around the east end , nobody mentions now the share holder that lost out then. so let put my old 140 years old granny to bed on that one.

So It’s unfair to comment on what may or may not have, or might still or couldt or didnt happen on Rangers,” said the Scottish FA chief executive. adding “they are there then, now and forever”

“It’s clearly a very serious issue that others keep punishing The club. Its serious we are aware of how serious it is and we have been in discussions with the board of Rangers on that particular point.

“That’s why they have taken the step of appointing The Orange Order and Media House to come back with dis-information we seek.

“We fully expect those questions to be unanswered by the nature of the report. The clubs are just being nosey and vindictive, and should look after their own affairs, several of them hide behind making profits , higher crowds and home grown talent, pretending finishing in the top six and winning trophies is somehow “better without Rangers”

“We’re expecting the report in the near future.”

  13. Mort,

Makes perfect sense – a trialist should be a player who is on trial. If you have already employed him then he isn’t on trial.

Unfortunately, as you say, the SFL rules don’t seem to contain a definition, other than that a trialist is a player who is not registered to the club.

I love these reformed band gigs. I’ve seen Yes and 10CC in the past year as well. Whole rows of over-50’s playing the drums on their thighs. One guy at last week’s gig was standing up (like the rebel he was) playing air guitar in the style of Steve Hacket, which meant standing like a statue, just wiggling his fingers. Truly bizarre and just a bit glorious

The Scandal over at Ibrokes in my opinion is the biggest ever in UK Sport and yet the ruleing body are still saying The Rangers are investigating themselves and we are waiting for them to submitt there findings. So move along Timmy nothing to see here.H.H.

I am no fan of Stewart Regan’s, but I interpret his statement as saying that, yes, the SFA will wait to see what the internally arranged enquiry decides before determining what it, the SFA will do next.

He doesn’t suggest that whatever the Pinsent Mason/Deloitte enquiry concludes, the SFA will go along with it.

He has at least the same access to the audio files and documents that have come into the public domain as we have. He must know that Craig Whyte has been involved all the way through and is claiming still to be involved today. It seems impossible to conclude otherwise. Therefore, the SFA will have to take action, but as a courtesy to Sevco, will wait and see what the Pinsent Mason enquiry says first.

The problem is though, they have already been seen to be complicit, and still they preside over the game.

There is no chance of their governing bodies doing anything and the sfa know it.

Barçabhoy has tweeted a similar reaction to the Stewart Regan’s statement as mine.

The only difference is he did it in 140 characters and he says it backs up what he had already been told about the SFA losing confidence in the Sevco board and being ready to take action. No one ever tells me anything.

Obviously Brysonman might still come to Sevco’s rescue again. He might say that, yes, Craig Whyte was, has been and is involved in Sevco, but that because no one told the SFA about it, it didn’t breach the sine die ban, but there is a chance they might say to themselves that that would be taking it too far even for the SFA.

Let us be hopeful. We stay on their case, we make it clear that we know the truth and that they cannot lie to us any more, but let’s see what Stewart Regan’s reaction is to the internally requested enquiry.
