Extra week training in July has huge impact

2173

I was concerned about a trip to Estonia after hearing Hearts struggle in their home leg against Estonian opponents last week, so news that Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps beat Flora Tallinn was welcome, although the concern was tempered as news arrived that Hearts were three goals up in the away leg.

The lesson here is that in July, one more week’s training has a huge impact on performance.

Brendan Rodgers will be happy with how training has progressed thus far, but it’s only when players put multiple 90 minutes under their belts that they are ready for competitive action. There’s not necessarily a great deal of work to do to overcome Red Imps (no offence intended), but qualifiers come thick and fast thereafter. Despite beating Slovenian champions Olimpija Ljubljana yesterday, I expect Celtic will be more motivated for Saturday’s game against Maribor.

It gets serious from now onwards.

From my point of view, the crux of the matter …

    RESOLUTION 12 – OFFICIAL UPDATE

Ultimately, no sanction was handed down by UEFA to Rangers FC, nor any investigation instigated into the licensing processes followed in season 2011/2012 because according to UEFA

Rangers FC, were not granted a UEFA licence for season 2012/2013

Following upon the administration of the club ..

o a “new club/company” was formed which was ineligible to apply for a licence to participate in UEFA competitions for three seasons and which

o sought entry into the fourth tier of Scottish Football and this “new club/company” would not, and could not in any event, qualify to play in European competition for the next three years.

The same club nonsense was not only a myth,it broke the law of the land and the rules of the sport.

    Repeatedly.

Cease and desist orders to follow,I trust? No more five stars on their strips. No history pre 2012.

    Etc

  4. Winning Captains,

“The bampots have won”. Probably the best sentence uttered by the a Celtic supporter since “the rebels have won”.

On the down side,I think Linfield are now the most successful club in the world. Heyho…

  7. Well done resolutioners.

BMCUW stole my thunder and under his etc I’d also ask for all SFA record keeping, narrative, etc to be consistent with the facts. How can they continue to peddle the lie when their bosses in Switzerland have spoken ?

    WC,

I take it that this UEFA statement…..contrary to what the SFA official stance says…..leaves them open to further legal scrutiny?

They won’t accept that they are not, either will the scottish powers, it’s same old, same old.

If uefa make a public statement then it’s different, but we all know they wont.

Can we sponsor an advert in the Celtic Match Day Programme on September 10th, simply quoting UEFA?

I’d gladly reach into my wife’s purse to contribute.

  12. Is it just me that’s missing the point ?

Fine , UEFA have confirmed that RFC is deid … something we already knew .

However , why did the huns get a license to play in Europe in season 2011 / 12 ?

  13. Maybe I’m too negative, but why allow some ambiguity to remain with the ” club/company” reference?

They’ve never denied it was a new company. This wording leaves wriggle room in my opinion.

  14. Winning Captains

No matter the final outcome a massive thank you is due to all the lads who never gave up.

This thank you should come from every football fan in Scotland and beyond.

  16. Am I reading this correctly following administration a new club/company was formed, therefore UEFA recognise the incorporation of club and company and not the incubator holding company nonsense that the media and football authorities here would have you believe, copy Doncaster and Regan into this and amend the historical records of football in this country

  17. Lennon n Mc....Mjallby on

Uefa leaving pub argument wriggle room by saying club/company.

They’ve stated the facts which makes for proving sevco are a new club so why the need to insert the word ‘company’?

    layman’s termscsc

This has nothing to do with a dead club but an administration – still in existence – that broke it’s own rules – let’s focus on the big prize

Thanks for all the hard work Bhoys, You kicked the hornets nest and survived, We know they are a new club but we need a statement from UEFA not our Club as it was always going to look like sour grapes.

So from the outset it seems to play that uefa never done anything because they are a new club and as such they hadn’t done anything wrong yet. But what about their last season in Europe without any audited accounts? this was the point of Res 12?

I need to have this explained to me as I only see the status quo prevailing they say they are the same club we say no your not what has changed ? James Forrest may help clarify the situation. H.H.

Mackay-Steven: patience the key on my road to recovery

By: Paul Cuddihy on 08 Jul, 2016 18:31

GARY Mackay-Steven, like every other Celtic player, would have wanted to impress new manager, Brendan Rodgers, when pre-season training began last month. However, unlike his team-mates, the winger was not able to step out on to the training pitch at Lennoxtown.

Instead he’s been in the gym as he recovers from the ankle operation he had towards the end of last season. It’s also meant that he remained in Scotland when the squad headed out to Slovenia for a training camp.

  22. Over to Celtic PLC now to follow up on res12 and the SFA malfeasance in awarding a licence to the Hun when they did not meet criteria.

So they died, went to heaven and prior to that should not have been awarded licence. And it was SFA’s responsibility to act responsibly and not award an undue licence.

Well done Res12 guys. Fine work.

Over to you Peter. Time to actually earn your bonus.

This is the bit were I will not hold my breath waiting.

    T’n’T,

Club and company are interchangeable and legally, after incorporation, mean the same thing. No ambiguity.

Are you looking at UEFA’s co-efficient table to claim them as the same club?

Every club keeps it’s co-efficient for five years…..even if they are deid.

  25. Well done to all those involved but how did you know that following brexit, PM resignation, JC surviving PLP attacks, elections for PM that today would be the best day to announce that UEFA recognises what we already knew THE HUNS UR DEID.

    Perfect timing.

Now sit back and watch the onslaught on us.
