‘FILL THEIR OWN POCKETS’, HARTSON BLASTS JURANOVIC AGENTS

CELTIC hero John Hartson has blasted agents who appear determined to get Josip Juranovic out of the club.

The Croatian international right-back has been linked with English big-hitters Chelsea and Manchester United in recent times although boss Ange Postecoglou doesn’t appear overly-concerned, as CQN reported at the weekend.

Juranovic has also been mentioned alongside Spanish cracks Atletico Madrid this summer although this site insists the 26-year-old defender, bought for a bargain £2.5million from Legia Warsaw in August 2021, is going nowhere – at least not in this window unless the champions receive a phenomenal offer.

The player has been unaffected by the rumours and speculation and put in another sound and impressive shift in the 5-0 win over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park yesterday.

However, Hartson is livid at representatives whose only desire is to “fill their own pockets” and move the player on from the title-winners.

The Welsh international legend said: “That will happen when you play for a global club – Celtic, Rangers, if your performances are very, very good then clubs are going to come calling.

“But, listen, Josip Juranovic has been at the club for two minutes and his agent is linking him with clubs.”He has done really well, he has got in the team. He is a really effective player when he gets forward in the box, but his agent shouldn’t be touting him about like this.

“His move is going to happen, that’s football. But stay at Celtic, play football, you have become a champion, you are in the side and your manager really likes you.”

Hartson, speaking to Sky Sports, added: “These agents cause anarchy because they just want to fill their own pockets.

“Three, four years down the line you may get your move, but at this moment in time he has been at the club for five minutes doing very, very well.
“I’m sure Ange won’t want to lose him. He has been outstanding.”
