I’ve been sent a brain teaser. What legal reasons would someone have to discretely pay another individual £500k? The people are not currently in business together, although the recipient previously worked for the sender. No goods have been provided.
It’s a puzzle.
Looking for legal reasons only, no crazy illegal notions or wild speculation about real persons, this is purely a theoretical exercise.
Apparently I’m being sent a moral dilemma tomorrow: Will the recipient, with off-shore accounts but living in interesting times, declare the £500k?

About Hugh Keevins, he may be a Celtic man but he has no morals really, I’d like to think he was just totally scared by the ORCS violent nature hence his reluctance to criticise Rangers in the same way he does Celtic.
When he is blatantly saying that his job is paying for his daughters weddings etc it is hard to give him any leeway. I know you say that a man who takes care of his family is the measure of the man (and I agree) but theres no need really to broadcast that over the airwaves IMO.

I am surprised the cuts at rankers in admin have not been bigger. It could be that with the feb salaries just paid the players will be kept and then released before march salaries. The administrators will be ruthless and view everything from a cash perspective.
Next week will see admin staff and football support (eg 5 physios to 2 ) cut as they may
be on weekly salaries.

The payment would be an ex gratia payment in preparation to deflect a claim by the former employer on ground of consturctive dismissal. the grounds would be that he or She was put on a position where they were being lied to and having their dignity, integrity and reputation put in jeopardy.
For instance in the world of public relations one of the important roles of the press officer is to make sure the company’s policies and information is struthfully (sic) reported to the wider interested parties. Those parties would not include any Fenian minded, Celtic loving, ice cream slurping, jelly eating, party hat wearing Irish descendants of Dan frae the northern highlands to the western islands
However in a case where a press officer was misused both personally and professionally then the employee might have cause to seek redress or kiss and tell all !!!

Perhaps it’s now safe to say that we have at last solved our old problems which plagued us for so long in our central defensive positions.
I’m glad you’re in agreement with me regarding young Rogne, a lad with almost frightening potential if he can avoid serious injury. Great reflexes, crisp into the tackle and brilliant in the air.
Charlie Mulgrew deserves all the plaudits he’s been getting and Thomas and Chas are the main men for central defence. Kelvin Wilson and big Dan are good guys to have in reserve nonetheless.
Playing Charlie at left back can also be an asset by giving us plenty of height at the back.
