Celtic play their fifth and final preseason friendly tomorrow before Tuesday’s Champions League qualifier in Armenia. Five games feels light. Legs will still be tired after each game, the prospect of 90 minutes in extreme heat will not be welcome.
Opponents Alashkert will have played only three preseason games before facing Celtic, each against lower league Russian opponents, so while they will cope better with the heat, their underlying fitness will not be better than Celtic’s.
In theory, Tuesday’s game should be welcomed as an opportunity to increase preparedness before the tougher challenges that lie ahead. But this is football in July, when normal rules do not apply, as Lincoln Red Imps demonstrated two years ago.
Loved the lack of logic in Dave King’s written response to BBC’s Alasdair Lamont’s question on the Takeover Panel’s Contempt of Court proceedings. “The [Takeover Panel] know that I live in [South Africa] and that it will require exchange control approval to move the funds to London. They are just bullying me”.
The Takeover Panel’s rules (which exist for everyone) that an offer has to have proven funds in the UK is not an actual impediment. If King’s funds were not in the UK, he would be unable to pay for the shares three weeks after the offer is made.
Takeover Panel rules merely bring the date cash is required forward by three weeks. Still, I am sure this talk of bullying will make the Takeover Panel think twice before crossing King again.
This guy is beyond brilliant. He is behaving like this openly. You know how it ends.

FANATIC – you are absolutely right! Celtic TV is a shambles. Cheap production run by a bunch of amateurs who have no clue how to run the operation. Alway’s excuses and apologies. I’ve been watching other streams without any issues, the technology is there. The fact is – Celtic just don’t invest properly and as you say, treat the fans dependent on this service with contempt.

Dull quarter final with a collective one shot on target between them.
Set pieces will decide this and England seem better.
Sweden have no creativity and Englands best efforts are from long balls over the top to the speedy Sterling or set pieces.
Forsberg came to this tournament with so much hype but not seen him produce much with the exception of a scoffed shot against the Swiss which fortunately deflected off a defender and wrong footed goalie for the winning goal.

Sweden deserve to be further behind! They are awful with no attacking force whatsoever. Only one team interested in winning this in ordinary time. Unless Sweden alter their tactics significantly this should be straightforward for England!

in fairness Celtic tv usually respond when technical difficulties arise.
Unfortunately its usually one or two days after the match is over.
As you say full of fake apologies and bullshit.
They sent out a survey at end of season and i’m sure like me many were scathing in their evaluation and criticism but do not expect them to do anything to rectify and improve their terrible product if it costs money.
Only a decline in viewership or revenue will bring about the service fans deserve which is unlikely as they have us captive with our love of Celtic.
