Foregone conclusion territory

1955

I don’t know about you but practically every football thought I have at the moment is connected to where we go next. The small matter of winning the league title has slipped into ‘foregone conclusion’ territory, which is always dangerous.

The players will be no different from the rest of us, but they will have more on their minds. A change of manager is likely to mean a new system, and new squad requirements. They need to focus on making the best of the next five games. One thing that has been reassuring this week is Ronny Deila’s comments. His professional pride is clear; he’ll apply himself fully to the task in hand until the end of the season.

Eyes on the task of winning the league, as soon as possible.

  1. By the way, all this guff about Allantill in our development teant. He can play a forward pass …big deal. He has yet to play enough of them to his own team mates to justify his exalted ratings on here. five years older than Christie? If Christie is still in our development squad at 24 then we are royally fecked.

It actually is in our present squad.:)

‘We continue to refer to Rangers FC as the same team;’

    ###

No. They refer to them as the same club. That they can’t differentiate between the meaning of the words team and club is worrying.

Frankly though I’m more concerned about Celtic’s complicity in the falsehood than the BBC’s and all the other broadcasters’.

  4. Allan,Armstong are getting ruined at CP ,IMO,you can’t judge players on 10 minutes here and there,or playing them as a left winger,I hope Christie gets a run in the position from the 2 I have mentioned

Fair enough you are entitled to your opinion. My own opinion is that we play forward passes to people’s feet, not in front of them. That is another debate.

Anyway, if the “boy” plays 10 SPL games for us next season I will donate £20 to the Kano foundation, feel free to join in.

  7. Does anyone know if we win our next two games will we be presented with the trophy against the sheep?

  10. I got an identical response as Bognorbhoy from BBC complaints re the prime time news coverage of Sevco promotion. Irrespective of this, it is better to continually make the point than to moan about it with those who agree anyway. They have a responsibility to report the truth, not invention

  11. Allan plays a forward pass FOR a runner, not TO him. A great way to preserve forward momentum and maintain the pressure. He has showed some good stuff in flashes, even at Euro level – he’s got some ‘go forward’ about him and I’d love to see him get a proper chance.

I didn’t know Janko had broken his leg – and I read your posts as well :-)))

Agree about pace with a centre half, biggest problem with Savichenko is lack of pace ( oh and a couple of inches in height for a centre half :-))

Boyata and Simonuvic appear to have a bit more pace, both could be doing with a bit more composure on the ball

    Hail Hail

Sviatchenko’s height is a weird one. He looks smaller than he is. When he came on for his first game i thought he looked small but having bumped into him twice at my local supermarket he’s a good size, I’m 6,2 and he’s not far off me.

    Jmmcormack,

If this season is anything to go by I can see the foundation benefiting from your generous bet.
