Foregone conclusion territory

1955

I don’t know about you but practically every football thought I have at the moment is connected to where we go next. The small matter of winning the league title has slipped into ‘foregone conclusion’ territory, which is always dangerous.

The players will be no different from the rest of us, but they will have more on their minds. A change of manager is likely to mean a new system, and new squad requirements. They need to focus on making the best of the next five games. One thing that has been reassuring this week is Ronny Deila’s comments. His professional pride is clear; he’ll apply himself fully to the task in hand until the end of the season.

Eyes on the task of winning the league, as soon as possible.

If you’ve bumped into him it wouldn’t have been you tackling that’s for sure! :-)

  2. A lot of my Man U mates thought Utd were mad to let him go. I think he’ll prove a class act. Janko is a young player with pace and aggression.

    How you doing,big fella?

I was keeping yer seat warm for you!

  4. I’d love to see Scott Allan get a run of games, definitely think the Bhoy has something. I hope Ronnie releases the young guns tomorrow.

    Actually,since it’s basically PULSE,I reckon I might put it on that old-fashioned wifi thing…

  6. A quote from our outgoing manager.

“Take the experiences you have now Ronny,” he said. “But it will be the same whether it is Brendan Rodgers or whoever comes in next. Celtic is a tough place to manage. I don’t think this job is much easier than being manager of Liverpool.

    Taken from here.

Now why would he mention Brendan Rogers. MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm

  7. Predicting a big win tomorrow and lots of appreciation for Ronny and his efforts.

Still won’t embarrass our “glass is almost empty” contributors.

Am now at the stage…..anybody but Lenny …. has become pathetic, time he left the scene.

    Hail Hail

David Beresford Ellis RIP. Excellent book on the 1981 hunger strike.

Won’t watch the game tomorrow as I’ll be on Hill 16 supporting the Dubs in the Division 1 league final. Taking part in the GAA’s centenary celebrations of the 1916 Rising afterwards.

Hopefully Leigh Griffiths will live up to his promise of a first class performance for Ronny. Ronny deserves it.

    …………

Ronny Deila deserves so much Respect.

This Town needs a Roy Keano type to get the Massive going crazy. I remember Paul67 dissing Keano, I didn’t argue then.

  9. Picking up on a few of the recent posts.

For me, a big bug-bear…..Celtic fans need to stop looking for the negative for the negative sake.

    It’s not helping.

Anyway, in response to some of the posts. Erik is fine. Wether he is 6ft, 6ft 1, 6ft 2….. he isn’t maybe Bayern Munich class…. But he will do for us. He will do for me. The guy is a good player (as demonstrated last Sunday). Why are people on here even questioning his part to play. Bhoy is a must next year.

Then there is Jozo….. Again, I like this bhoys pedigree. The one game he looked suspect, was the St.Johnstone game at home we won 3-1….. O’Halloran gave him a hard time…… But feck me, take a hammer and crack any players knee cap, and see how well they will play.

Again, for the love of God, Jozo is a player. A very good young player. And we are lucky to have him.

Also seen posts on here, we should punt Jancko. Really ? Why? Because the bhoy has been unfortunate with injury. Some people on here are mental. Funny, that Jancko’s last 2 games for Celtic, he got awarded man of the match in both games.

Short memories…… Aye I think so.

  10. Tet,

Hmm Interesting. He did say in an earlier interview that moyes should jump at the chance. Maybe playing games.

As an aside…I noticed roddy ‘wheres my shares in the huns gone’ forsyth described our first europa league campaign as dismal.

Whilst it was far from perfect, his club would love a dismal euro campaign like we had.

  11. 1991,(or 92?) close season, stood in the jungle, busy as ever but no Hoops on the park. Just thousands, watching Prince’s Parkhead gig.

After one of the big hits – ‘Let’s Go Crazy’, I think- the tumult of the crowd is dying down and just along from me high in the jungle a voice booms out, carrying across the ground ro a ripple of amusement: ‘F#cking brilliant, wee man! Absolute f#cking magic, wee man!’

    Prince. Jungle hero. RIP.
