Fragile limbs

The overwhelming request from an international break is that our players return injury-free.  Nir Bitton made an appearance as a second half substitute against Wales last night but left the field 18 minutes later, with a foot injury.

Nir is in the best form of his life and has carved himself out a deep-lying creative role in the Celtic team.  Central midfield roles don’t come up for grabs too often.  Two of our strongest players, Scott Brown and Stefan Johansen, compete for a small number of central midfield jerseys, although they are different types of players, so it’s important our Nir doesn’t spend too long on the side-lines.

Fraser Forster’s terrible knee injury last weekend was sickening.  The big guy is one of the most professional players in the game and is absolutely dedicated to his development.  His form in the FA Premier League this season has been sensational, recording more shutouts than any other keeper.

It’s a blow to Southampton too, who gave Celtic £10m for Fraser’s services seven months ago.

    Thanks.

Fingers crossed its not going to put him out or for very long.

He has played so well since he got hold of a jersey and is now probably one of the 1st names on the teamsheet.

  2. Sandman,

We should be well used to it,but what really annoys me is the brazen disregard for the facts.

Basically he is lying. How in any way can this be classed as journalism.

  3. TDs post@12.15 re Jangles piece.

Of course, Murray and his men cannot be blamed for any of this. On the contrary they have taken on the job of cleaning up the mess others have left behind in the board room and are discovering now the full extent of the toxicity of their predecessors.

Correct me if I’m wrong (wouldn’t be the first time) but was Murray not a Director of oldco.

Murray cleaning up the Augean stable that others had “left behind”.

Ffs sycophancy of the highest order.

Hope you are right Tony Donnelly.I did not see it.Its just we never seem to have any luck with injuries.Maybe this time.

I believe Broonie is banned for the next game so if Bitton is injured and Henderson is off on loan it could leave us a wee bit short in midfield. H.H.

Yes indeed. The other belter was Murrays speech condeming the state they left the club in.Even Hun Media were giving him pelters for it,saying he was there when they went bust.

    From Nick Rodger in this mornings Herald;

‘McGregor’s rasping drive from the edge of the box, which restored Rangers’ lead with seven minutes left, was as crisp as a pint of lager in the Louden Tavern and just as gratefully received by the supporters in the stands.’

    Deary, deary me….

  8. I was just listening to an interview with Paul Murray, and he said that “we are going to rebuild this club brick by brick” I’m sure it was the word brick, well almost:))

That disgrace to his profession (imo) also forgot to put the number TWENTY in front of number THREE:))))

“There seems no reason to doubt they are acting in good faith but they are also operating in a quagmire which has been created by all manner of chancers and charlatans over the last three years.”

He’s already featured more times tthis season than last.

Our new recruits can’t play in the Scottish cup….Biton injury…Broony suspended…?

  12. Liam Henderson on loan to Rosenberg,Liam do the right thing, and tell Celtic thanks but no thanks He could go there and end up like a lot of loanees ,never to be heard or seen again.see one minute Ronnys saying he is not going on loan to other teams, then he is saying he can go and get some game time.at some other club.Ronny we are going for a treble we need all of our good players ,to try and achieve that,so watch what you are doing with this young bhoys carrer, because if you chase him out the door, there will be a lot of unhappy tims, who will give you a hard time,i have backed you right from the word go,but if you mess this up,well just see what happens,

  13. Archdeacons,

I was listening to the tranny when that goal was scored and I’ll swear chick young had an organism.

Any wonder we refer to him as Keech. Only good thing is that the longer they fail to report the truth the more likely it is that the current incarnation will go the same way as the previous ones. Talk about being disingenuous. Roast succulent lamb back on the menu.( as if it was ever off it)

  15. Gaeroid………….nailed it mate, exactly my thoughts

    Hell mend thum

  16. The thing is and I was saying this in the pub yesterday, when things are quite and no news is coming out you just know the sheet about to hit the twirling thing on the ceiling, because if there was any good news the SMSM would be blasting it on the air waves, and running out of ink in the papers, get the popcorn in guys.

  17. I’ll probably get banned off of this site cause you only want to talk about Celli, but Scottish football is about more clubs than just yours.

I have read a lot of you guys this weekend as my mate blogs on here, and thought it was about time you got another point of view.

Cellic are playing well but the treble wont happen, not a chance.

Rangers will get stronger very quickly, and you wont have it all your own way for long, so enjoy it while it lasts
