George Peat still casting shadow

1187

Predicting what is about to happen in Scottish football is a bit of an art.  We all realise that just about everyone has an agenda, so the first thing most of us do is ignore whatever overt line is being promoted by one or two sources of ill-repute, especially when they suggest that Sevco will definitely play football in the SFL First Division next season.

So far around 11 clubs have intimated they will vote against this proposal while only Stenhousmuir, the very club that stepped forward to give former SFA president George Peat a seat of the board after he completed his work with Airdrieoneans, have offered the Loyal support.

Apart from Stenhousmuir, only Stewart Regan and Neil Doncaster seem keen on the idea of allowing Sevco to start their sporting life in two levels up from the bottom.

Ally McCoist spoke some wise words to online channel, Rangers TV (current ownership model unclear).  Having gained some first-hand managerial experience against Falkirk last season, McCoist knows that First Division football would give Sevco no guarantee of promotion.  He complained that he has only six first team players at the moment, although didn’t add “and they are rubbish”.

There is also the suspicion that Sevco are not shifting a lot of season tickets, income levels could be acutely low, and their potential fans appear to have no more appetite for a grubby accommodation than anyone else.  Apart from Stenhousmuir, Regan and Doncaster, of course.

McCoist addressed the prospect of additional punishments to be handed to Sevco for the misdemeanours of Rangers as a further reason to go straight to the bottom of the pile, however, he didn’t touch on the obvious point.

The only way Sevco are going to avoid penalties for Rangers EBT behaviour is if the former club is found to have acted correctly, or if Sevco make no claims to inherit Rangers club licence, name, badge or other unique identifiers.

Anyway, we have Inter Milan, Real Madrid and the Champions League qualifiers to look forward to. Bring them on!

Goal ref and hawk eye goal line technology systems have informed rangers they will be unable to use the systems next season, apparently they don’t work with jumpers as goal posts.

  2. One of the SFL club chairmen today is trying to pass the buck to the SFA stating that the SPL had passed the buck to the SFL to sort out the SPL mess.

Not so. The SPL have sorted out their mess, at least partially.

They have stated categorically that Scottish football does not need RFC.

The SPL decision was not passing the buck. It was simply a refusal to accept Sevco Scotland Ltd.

After that, Sevco could easily have just walked away. Yeah I know “we don’t do….”.

CG and the executive of the SFL are putting the burden on the SFL clubs.

I don’t see a problem. Simply follow the SPL lead.

Their vote was effectively unanimous. Not the slightest hint of doubt.

    No to Sevco.

I would have thought it very, very clear.

No to Sevco, not just in the SPL but not in Scottish football at all.

Everyone seems to be dismissing Regan’s statement on “civil unrest”…… I think he is spot on ……. another reason for getting them to hell out of Scottish Football………..

Alex Thomson has, to my mind, been a massive disappointment in the whole rangers/ sevco fiasco.

He was handed this story on a plate, with all the gory details already forensically uncovered by the true heroes if this story, including

    Phil Mac

rangerstaxcase (the site, including many fantastic posts from fans of Hearts, and even the huns at some points, as well as some of the posters who also post on here)

CQN( especially but not exclusively, Auldheid, The Battered Bunnet, and many many more)

These along with many other sites, blogs and forums have broken ALL of the issues relating to this case.

Mr Thomson has came in and quite frankly, given all of the major work on this was done, and passed directly to him, by those sources I name above, I would ask what has he added?

The one thing I, and I assume most others, were hoping from Mr Thomson was the explosion of this story onto a bigger stage. Something the internet bampots couldn’t do, and something the scottish msm had an active agenda to prevent.

Well, in the words of Mr Thomson on Off the Ball this afternoon, “One thing I cannot understand is that no one in that place called England is interested in this at all” (I paraphrase from memory).

Well, Mr Thomson, the one thing you could bring to the party is this, and in this, you have been a failure. A total failure. Bask in the glory of the rest of the story, given to you on a plate by all means, but who will take you to task on this point?

Your ‘expose’ last week that ogilvie and ballantyne owned shares in the huns for example. Wow, just wow. I don’t know anyone who didn’t know these two were 33degree huns. This one to be filed under “bears, woods, defecating” I believe.

And a final wee thing, his oft repeated mantra that “The vast majority of rangers fans, like other fans, want to see sevco in the third division”.

Well Mr Thomson, rangers fans want to see sevco in the third division for completely opposite and unreconsilable reasons to the fans of every other club – not LIKE other fans.

There you go … the “vote” on Friday is an absolute joke.

The SFL clubs have been sent a series of motions.

    1) Can the SFL accomodate Rangers NewCo?

    3) Will it be Dundee or Dunfermline?

    The important question is 2).

    2) Will approves the clubs to admit Rangers NewCo the Third Division … but ONLY if the board of directors of the SFL cannot get a series of measures from the Scottish Premier League regarding changes in the game … changes which, as we all know full well, the SPL has ALREADY agreed to give them. If those “changes” are approved, they got into SFL 1.

It is not clear what will happen here if the SFL clubs reject that motion utterly.

These motions are a stitch up of awesome proportions. The straight SFL 1 or SFL 3 question which was NEEDED here to make this fair is not there. It was never going to be there. Disgraceful.

There is no arguement that anyone can put forward on why newco should not have to apply to join div3.That in itself would be contencious as they have not got the required 3 years under there belt clubs like Spartans under Scottish football rules have a more legitimate claim to join Div.3.Anyone in my opinion who is pushing the newco claim to be allowed into Div1 or Div3 is favouring the new club and you must ask yourself the question why? The Doncasters and Regans of this World are very likely to be members of the shaky hand club as they are pushing the masonic agenda.H.H.

There was obviously a stich up agreed to ensure SFL1 was the only outcome, thats why green and mccoist came out with the “We’ll play where we are sent” comments – They knew this had been agreed.

Raith Rovers statement contains elements that question the very basis of being asked to vote.

Msm will not focus on the issues raised in it, the very fact Jabba decries Turnbull Hutton tells me RR have a valid point. Jabba’s tactic is to bully.

Now that I’m back from my travels, I just wanted to acknowledge that you were right (I’m glad to say) and I was wrong about the new Huns being admitted to the SPL.

My view that that the ‘establishment’ would protect Rangers was not wrong in the sense that they made every effort to keep them in the SPL and will very likely succeed in limiting their fall to the SFL1.

I have also long held the view that UEFA/FIFA would not intervene and that has been the case to date. I do not see that changing.

Next season we will have a debt free but severely weakened Huns in SFL1.

More than I expected but wrong.

I dont have any tangeable justification for my point of view, except when I hear accepting comments from them, it makes me suspicious.

However, that may be just because doncaster/ reagan just feel they have boxed the SFL clubs into a corner.

If motion 1 is correct, then hopefully the answer is NO.
