Going one better next season

943

We had a special night at the Celtic Supporters’ Association’s 67th Annual Rally last night.  It was great to see our two treble winning captains: Tom Boyd giving praise to the giant of the European game, Billy McNeill.

I had a chat with Scott Brown, who received his Association Player of the Year award.  A day before he collects his fourth consecutive league championship trophy you’d think he would afford a moment of satisfaction, but he’s not happy this isn’t a treble winning season.  The events at Hampden last month have left an open wound.  All he could talk about was going one better next season.

Before you leave for the game tomorrow remember to bring along some change to buy a Ronny Roar badge to raise funds for the work of your Foundation.  See you there.

  1. In The Hun v motherwell game, thems will come up against a team, harder physically than any team they have met in the last 3 years, us excluded of course, motherwell are crap but they just might tough it out…Said in hope more than expectation i may add..

Tonev was hung out to dry. Simply because he played for Celtic and Logan is black.

Nothing would have been done had someone called another player-caught on camera or mic-a ‘f…..g Fenian b…..d.’

I’m sure that happens every week, and no argument about being lost in translation.

I have better chance of six numbers tonight.

  5. The Mothers have had a crap season.

Only slightly less worse than Chic Dung’s favourite team.

    Still!

    We’ll see.

At the risk of offending the PC Brigade.

A real problem is that we live in a world where some folk, including posters here, simply revel in being offended.

Not worried about dear Hun – if they don’t come up this year, it’ll be next year – not bothered, under Ronny it’ll be a long time before they get near us.

Fancy Skippy to score a last minute winner – everything goes in cycles….

Would take Scot Allan, but not as a replacement for Nir – think he could be a class player though, with the right manager!

  11. while diedco were drawing their final breaths, wishart was negotiating players contracts that suited the clumpany not his union members

  12. BMCUWP….

The unions are a joke now, I’ve watched twenty people in the past three months being made redundant, only for the fulltime official to say that is the rules.

Now we have twenty two office staff getting their working hours changed, or face being made redundant.

The fulltime official… That’s the rules after….after ignoring constant phone calls to him.

Besides that, the main problem is the workforce, no unity, which means they can do what they want and they know it.

It’s dog eat dog now, the only upside is, that the handshake is oot the window now.

  13. Quenno..Ok…odds of winning the lottery..Millions to one..odds on motherwell in the spfl next season..i dunno..4 chances in nine…They have , according to the books, a bit more than a punchers chance,..The tie will be won or lost from motherwell point of view at ibrokes..2 goal defeat ,motherwell are down, better than that, they have a chance..IMO..

I think all the small shareholders who signed up to Res12 will want an answer to that question and they certainly deserve one. As do all who want an honest game.

The reasons for delay are explainable although they will of themselves raise further questions that supporters of all clubs (and I include TRFC in that if they had sense) should wish to be addressed.

An essay or even a book in its own right.

In the meantime if you and BRTH are in the same vicinity and can meet, I think you will get answers that not only will put you in the picture but might enlist your help in getting across what supporters are up against and how to circumvent it.

Will also have to check with her indoors.

  20. Sometimes you see a player who has a unique quality that makes you think he might be worth pursuing.

In earlier games v TRFC Scott Allan showed he not only had an eye for a telling pass but the technique to deliver it.

Sometimes you need more than that unique quality if it cannot be brought to bear enough to change a game, but if you have a manager who prides himself on developing unique talent then you can understand why Celtic might be interested.

Quick dive in to Portobello here in Spain for CQN fix . All those going tomorrow CELEBRATE and keep you eyes on big screens before game and halftime!! Wee message from ma lot!

  22. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Gerryfaethebrig and pf ayr, wishart is a weasal. He is the spfa lead on show racism the red card. Not once when neil and aiden endured racist and sectarian abuse did he voice his concerns over it.

When maurice edu’s car was damaged, wishart was one of those who accused celtic fans of doing it. It turns out it was some guy whose wife/partner was having a fling with edu.

  23. Only saw the first half of today’s game at Easter Road and thought Scott Allan was head and shoulders above everyone else on the pitch. Sign him? Wouldn’t be first pick would get plenty of opportunities to improve and develop under our management team.

  24. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Bourne, sorry for the late reply.

I don’t think scott. Allan would sign for us if he doesn’t want any grief off the pitch.

Allen played like player with a point to prove.

    All season.

    Until it mattered.

I would not dare to suggest that he allowed his alliegance to overcome his professionalism

Nor indeed that he bottled the big occasion.

If I ever see him near a squad number,I’ll be shocked.

  26. Not seen enough of Scott Allan to form an opinion.

    Hardly seen anything in fact.

I totally agree I worked in a workplace that was threatened with closure, it survived for a few months, the people who were “crying” to the union were the very same who were working overtime when there was an overtime ban….. You live and learn, Unions might be a thing of the past but I know for a fact I will always be a member and never go against any wish of my Union, just the way I have been brought up

Dallas….. That is a great point the treatment of both Neil & young Aidan was a total embarrassment to Mr Wisharts “union” and as you say I have yet to read anything from the players rep !
